Chapter 52 I'm Just Getting Started

Chapter 52  I'm Just Getting Started

William dodged to the left, narrowly avoiding the greatsword. He was about to unleash a counter of his own when the greatsword slammed into the ground, triggering a miniature earthquake and knocking William off his feet.

He scrambled out of the way just in time as Goddard slammed down the greatsword again. Goddard wasn't giving William any time to breathe.

William dodged a third strike. His fingers fluttered as an Advanced Barrier Array was formed, temporarily blocking Goddard's strikes. William used the time to boost his speed and strength with Arrays then shifted to the offensive.

His right fist lashed out and knocked away Goddard's greatsword, followed by his left fist that delivered a harsh blow to Goddard's face and sent him flying into the barrier protecting the Arena.

The fight drew a lot of attention from the Guild Hall, and many onlookers watched as William pummeled a Rhio Family Elite. Very few recognized William, but no normal person would dare to fight with the Rhio Family, much less knock them unconscious in an Arena.

Peter, who just arrived, currently felt a mixture of shock and rage. Goddard was supposed to be one of his finest Elites, yet he couldn't handle a single punch from a child.

William brushed off his knuckles while smiling at the others from the Rhio Family. "So who's next? I'm just getting started."

The Rhio Family members no longer underestimated William. The Arena was surrounded and William had nowhere to go, so Peter sent in a group of five bodyguards to exhaust William.

William understood the situation he was in. With the strength in numbers, Peter would undoubtedly capture him here if he didn't do something quick.

His thoughts turned to the Arena's Array. With his newfound understanding of Arrays, William should in theory be able to edit this one. He dodged attacks while working on his plan.

"You missed it from earlier, he knocked out one of the Elite members with just one punch. I bet he's taking it easy on them so the young master over there doesn't get too angry." the middle aged man pointed to Peter Rhio.

"What is that kid thinking? He hasn't attacked those from the Rhio Family since they entered the Arena!" an onlooker complained to a balding middle-aged man.

"You missed it from earlier, he knocked out one of the Elite members with just one punch. I bet he's taking it easy on them so the young master over there doesn't get too angry." the middle aged man pointed to Peter Rhio.

A few nearby spectators also noticed the young man from the Rhio Family, but their attention was quickly drawn back to the Arena by a loud explosion and a burst of sparks.

William had just dodged a would-be lethal sword strike from one of the bodyguards, but this time he responded with an attack of his own. A giant fireball formed in his hand and was stuffed into the bodyguard's side as he stepped past.

A loud explosion quaked the entire Guild Hall as multiple body parts hit the ground in different areas. William used an electric field with the help of the Lightning Element to completely remove any presence of the bodyguard.

The people familiar with the functions of the Arena were confused when they saw William wasting energy to destroy the bodyguard thoroughly. Once a person died in the Arena, they would be brought to life again in a few seconds.

"Does the boy not know about the Reanimation Array?" a refined gentleman asked out loud.

An old man with long white hair seemed to notice something, "Just wait and see. The boy seems to be full of tricks."

Inside the Arena, the other bodyguards were surprised at how long the fifth was taking to revive. They waited a few seconds, but nothing happened.

A full minute later, still nothing.

They started to worry. What if the Array is actually disabled? Did the boy already know this would happen? The four bodyguards looked at William, who had a calm smile on his face.

"He's not coming back you know." William teased. He used the Earth Element to create a makeshift chair and sat down. "You're welcome to wait for his revival with me. It may take a while."

The bodyguards looked frustrated. The last few minutes they hadn't landed a single hit on William, yet he had already killed one of them. One of the bodyguards that seemed close to the recently deceased looked at William with red eyes. "You...Asshole! I'll kill you!"

The Rhio bodyguard charged his body with Mana and rushed at William without a care for his own life. He entered close proximity and chose to detonate himself right next to William.

William was caught off guard by this attack and didn't have much time. He hastily raised an Intermediate Barrier to protect himself, but it was only able to guard against a small portion of the explosion. William's body took the remainder of the damage, but his various elements severely weakened the blow. n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

William flew backwards a few feet before regaining his footing. He dusted himself off, then used the Life Element to heal any damages. His wounds quickly closed up and William returned to perfect health in just a few seconds, much to the dismay of the Rhio bodyguards.

"How did he survive an explosion like that?! This kid is invincible!" a spectator cheered. It was the same blue haired girl named Novea that William had met a few weeks ago when he first arrived in Blue Moon City. Her eyes were gleaming as she watched William effortlessly dispatch multiple Golden Core Cultivators.

Novea's eyes turned fierce as she realized what it meant to be so powerful at such a young age. She jumped up and exited the Guild Hall in a hurry. I knew that evaluation was right, I have to recruit him at all costs!

Back in the Arena, William was facing off against over a dozen opponents that Peter sent into the Arena. His injuries collected quickly, but every time it looked like William would die, he seemed to recover to peak health in just a few seconds.

Peter was frustrated. How is this happening? How can a young boy fight so long with so many enemies? I couldn't do the same even if there were ten of me!

He looked at the old man by his side. "What's going on with the boy? Why isn't he dead yet?"

The old man furrowed his brow, "Young Master, the kid seems to have frightening healing abilities. There's not much else we can do...wait." the old man paused. His eyes turned to the Array at the center of the Arena and burned with intensity. He could see a stream of Mana entering the Array from the bodyguard's spells, then that same Mana was being converted into healing energy that was directed to William.

The old man's expression changed to complete surprise. "Im-Impossible! He's using the Array to heal! The boy heals every time we use a powerful spell!"

Peter was shocked, "What!?! Do you mean he edited the Array himself? This can't be real!" Peter quickly related the information to his bodyguards in the Arena.

William noticed the change in their attitude and smirked, "So you finally figured it out huh? Well it's too late now!" William opened his palm to reveal a magnificent Array in the shape of an orb with four Perfect Runes within. The orb grew in size until it completely encased William in a four meter radius, then vanished from plain sight.

The bodyguards launched a series of attacks at William, but they were all stopped by an invisible layer that protected William. The Array seemed to reflect a portion of the attack in the reverse direction, forcing the attack to cancel itself out and reduce the stress on the Array. William was quite pleased with his work.

He smiled again, staring directly at Peter with a look that made him shiver. "Do you plan to stay up there all day or are you going to fight me?"
