Chapter 50 [Bonus Chapter] Death!?
50 [Bonus Chapter] Death!?
But soon he realized an unbelievable truth as he tried to quickly run out. His entire muscles had been paralyzed.
"Tch, I got distracted!" Hael thought in his head as he watched the eldritch creature arrive before him. It stretched out its colossal palms that covered all of Hael's vision...
Before...
BAAAANG!
BAAAANG!
BAAANG!
The entire ground shook massively as his body was violently smashed into the ground thrice, until it was stuck into the massive cobwebs of cracks that had appeared on the ground, leaving nothing but Hael, whose eyes were tinted in an absolute crimson from the pain.
But the eldritch wasn't done yet, as one of its tentacles violently wrapped around Hael's neck, pulling him out of the ground and raising him up to the eldritch's abyssal dark eyes. Its maw parted, revealing an evil smirk, and suddenly...
PUUUCHI
PUUUUCHI
PUUUUCHI
PUUUUCHI
The remaining four tentacles burst into Hael's body. One entered his right ear and another into his left ear. The remaining two burst into his mouth, widening it.
Under the horrific expression of Hael, he watched the eldritch creature smile as the tentacles all began separating, causing him to feel like his skull was being pulled apart, and the same could be said for the sides of his head.
"NOOOO!!!" The roar was barely completed when...
RIIIIIIIIIIP
Hael's head was ripped into two parts, blood and brain tissues oozing out of it uncontrollably as the eldritch creature looked at the headless Hael before dropping his body onto the ground...
"Winner: Naheem Grade Eldritch..." the AI declared as the eldritch creature faded into white energy. Soon following was Hael's headless corpse, which also faded away into the white energy... n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

"NOOOOOO!" The roar blasted out of Hael's mouth as he jerked upwards from his sleeping position. His heart raced within his chest uncontrollably, and with so much force, he felt a stinging pain in his ribs.
"How does dying feel like, kiddo?" the mocking voice of Captain Aelia rang out in Hael's head, whose heart was still violently pounding in his chest as he turned to look at her, with sweat dripping down his face.
"I... I died?" Hael asked, not even understanding how he died and didn't die at the same time. Everything was just incoherent to him, and a splitting headache was continuously hammering away at his skull.
"You died, in the virtual realm that is..." Captain Aelia said, as Hael suddenly found a cup of glass in her hands as she walked towards him and passed him one of them. With cautious eyes, Hael looked at the green-colored tea within the cup as Captain Aelia grinned.
"You think I'm going to poison you? I wouldn't blame you, a person who just 'died,' for not trusting anyone though. It's a relaxing tea that helps you soothe the side effects of dying within the virtual world," Instructor Monecae explained as Hael gave one last look at the tea before instantly downing it in a single gulp.
Immediately, a cold and refreshing feeling spread throughout his entire bloodstream, and he could instantly feel his heartbeat reducing back to normal control, and his headache cleared away...
"Huuuuuu..." Hael heaved out a sigh of relief as he passed the cup back to Captain Aelia, who also downed her own cup before walking back to the dais. Hael also jumped out of the pod and sat once more in his seat.
"The virtual world's death is the greatest technology that has been made to bring man close to how death truly feels. Give me a word to describe your experience," Captain Aelia said as Hael's eyes slowly returned to calm before he gave out his answer.
"Horrifying!" he declared, his hands touching his mouth and ears just to be sure they were still there. His skull had been torn apart into two by the eldritch creature.
Normally, even though almost everyone uses the virtual reality world, children under the age of 20 won't die in it; they will be pushed out by the algorithm before their death.
That is to prevent them from being forever haunted by the feeling of death," Captain Aelia said as Hael couldn't help but furrow his eyebrows at her.
"You're wondering why I then made you purposefully die when I could have taken you out in time, right?" Instructor Aelia said as if she could read his mind.
"It's because the government doesn't understand something about death in the virtual realm.
They don't know that it is the best way for naïve youngsters, like you, to grow up quickly. Now that you know how death feels, I'm sure I have planted the feeling in your head.
So not only would you always be conscious of it and try to prevent your death at all costs, which is something good for you, but you will also be cautious of inducing death to other people if you are aware of how it feels.
And most importantly to know we'll how good the Eldritch creature can make you feel pain, and be well aware that they can kill you!
Right now, you can reduce ten mortal men to blood and gore based on your power from the cybernetics. You have to know well just how badly death stings, so you don't go accidentally killing people. I hope you understand my reasoning and stop hating me for it." Captain Aelia answered.
All he cared for now was that he was still alive, and hate wasn't even in the picture in his mind right now. All he cared about was his state of existence.
"That said, I watched all of your fights and saved everything.
Let's go through a deep analysis of it, see what you did right and did wrong, and how you could have done it better in case of a next time," Captain Aelia said, as a large holograph appeared in thin air, depicting the image of him preparing to fight the first eldritch...
"Before that though, I have a question for you..."
