Roar!

Volibear let out a loud roar, running toward the river on all four paws, full of energy. He was closing in on Lux, and if she got caught, she would surely die.

“She’s a goner! At this distance, Volibear will definitely reach her,” the host said. “Lux still needs at least five seconds for her skill to cooldown.”

Lux emerged from the brush and ran toward the mid lane. With her Sorcerer’s Shoes, she had an additional 15 Movement Speed. However, it still wouldn’t be enough to outrun Volibear’s added Movement Speed from Rolling Thunder.

As expected, the distance between them was shortened to 500 yards, which could easily be overcome by Volibear. Everyone could already guess the outcome of this chase. As long as Volibear could reach Lux and flip her behind him, Riven could claim her head easily, marking the end of Lux.

How would she avoid this?

Lux didn’t have any skills nor Flash, she couldn’t go against two bruiser champions. Lux would die, and the stacks for Mejai’s Soulstealer would be reduced by one third. It was just a fact of life.

Swoosh!

A swirl of red light surrounded Volibear, slowing him down significantly. All eyes turned back to Lux, their eyes glittering with excitement as Volibear slowed down.

“It’s an Exhaust! Lux still had Exhaust at her disposal!”

Damn, how could they have forgotten about her Summoner’s Skill—Exhaust.

Even without the host stating the obvious, the audience who had been watching the scene unfold was already aware of this. Her second Summoner’s Skill was Exhaust, which was effective for 2.5 seconds. This would give her sufficient time to make her escape from Volibear’s clutches.

This was a life-saving Summoner’s Skill!

“Did Yu Luocheng calculate that the Exhaust would save him at this distance from the time he was in the brush?” The host wondered out loud.

When Lux disposed of Fizz, everyone thought that she would be exchanging her life for his, as Volibear would definitely be able to catch up to her after that kill. However, with the 2.5 seconds of Exhaust, this precise calculation was too accurate. The extra 15 movement speed also helped, as Volibear couldn’t keep up anymore.

“Her skills are ready, dodge it!” Yang Ying reminded Lin Laowu hurriedly.

Volibear had no magic resistance at all, and with Lux having magic penetration from the Void Staff and Sorcerer’s Shoes, she would definitely be able to wound Volibear significantly. With that little bit of health left, it would be hard to say whether he would die from that or not.

“I know!” Lin Laowu shouted back. “I’m running!”

As predicted, Lux raised her hand. Lin Laowu turned immediately, intending to dodge any of her incoming skills.

“Idiot!” Yang Ying growled out. “That’s just her Prismatic Barrier!”

Lin Laowu hesitated, but sure enough, Lux had thrown out her wand which harmlessly passed him, lighting herself up with a glowing barrier. But as Lin Laowu stood there with no reaction, she launched a Light Binding at him, effectively hitting him and confining him into a shimmering cage. Following up with a basic attack, she then unleashed a Lucent Singularity which lingered for a while before detonating with Riven in range, slowing her down.

Bang!

The light explosion took the remainder of Volibear’s health.

Shut Down!

Volibear, who had not been killed the entire match, finally fell to Lux’s kiting. He had been taking tons of damage during all the team fights and still stood strong, resembling a rock for Team Dawn. Lin Laowu never imagined that he would be taken down by a Support. From the start of the chase, his health was slowly chipped away by Lux’s skill. He had the confidence to kill her, but suddenly, due to the Exhaust, he was killed instead.

Lin Laowu was bewildered. He had died, and that death had given 500 gold to his enemy. Volibear and Fizz were kited to death by a Support! He felt like two tigers fighting for a rabbit, but in the end, both tigers had perished from slamming into a stone wall instead.

He couldn’t stand the embarrassment.

“I told you to be careful!” Yang Ying yelled.

“Damn it, how could I know that she would pull a feint on me.”

Feinting. This is a crucial technique in high-ranking games, where before attempting to disable an enemy, you first throw out a less important skill—forcing them to dodge—and then follow it up with a crowd-control skill on the target.

***

“He was killed! Team Scarlet has managed to shut down Volibear!” The host exclaimed, the disbelief clear in his voice.

Three big shots that were alive, all kited to death by a Support. What an embarrassment to say that they were playing League of Legends!

Just as Riven was closing the distance between them, her prey within reach, a man carrying a tank of poison water appeared. His hand shot out to grab her, using his Fling to toss her a few hundred yards away from Lux.

“It’s Team Scarlet’s Singed!”

“That’s great! He reached just in the nick of time!”

Unconsciously, it seemed as though the host was on Yu Luocheng’s side, breathing a sigh of relief together with Team Scarlet. After all, it was rare to have a Support doing the counter attacks. Singed, who had returned to base, had utilised Homeguard to rush toward Lux and had reached her just in time. With the damage from his Poison Trail, Riven’s health declined rapidly. With that, Terrance had delivered Riven’s head to Lux, granting her a Triple Kill!

The top laner gave his kill to a Support? This was the first time it had ever happened.

After seeing how Lux had managed to kill two champions with her kiting, none of Team Scarlet’s players would hesitate to give him any of the kills.

From the time Mejai’s Soulstealer had made an appearance.

From killing and getting shutdowns, and the recent beautiful performance by kiting, it could be said that she had left a trail of blood in her wake!

“Oh my god!” The host couldn’t contain his excitement as he bellowed into the microphone. “Fourteen stacks! Mejai’s has fourteen stacks already!”

If you could read the host’s mind, as an e-sports fan, he was definitely thinking, ‘This is f*cking exciting!’.

This was a tournament, not a normal or ranked match, how many times have you seen a Support buying Mejai’s Soulstealer? And more importantly, this was a completely unbelievable match with her reaching fourteen stacks!

***

The audience was watching with rapt attention, if Mejai’s Soulstealer could reach twenty stacks, then Team Scarlet would basically have an additional AP on their team. Lux late-game was terrifying, if her ulti were to hit all five of their opponents, the damage dealt to their health would be huge!

This Support… was bloody incredible!

“Twenty stacks! Twenty stacks! Twenty stacks!”

Just like the match with Twisted Fate, Yu Luocheng had once again captured the hearts of the audience as they chanted for him. Following the normal meta was boring, and no one could have anticipated a match where a Lux with twenty stacks in Mejai’s Soulstealer would appear. This impossible plot was happening right in front of their eyes.

She had fourteen stacks, twenty stacks didn’t seem that far off!
