Chapter 17: Special Cast
Special casts are created by souls that aim to capture their victims. However, this type of soul is almost at the level of a Radiant, but to sum them all up easily:
Exile souls range from Grade 6 to 1, with Grade 1 being the strongest type in this rank. For Radiants, they are ranked from Grade 3 to 1. For Elysian souls, there's only one type, which makes it a special rank—probably the king or queen of all souls, meaning the strongest.
A cast can be placed by a Grade 1 Exile soul.
Inside this cast, time flows differently—minutes inside can equal hours outside. Approximately, if they had spent ten minutes inside, it calculates to two hours outside.
Additionally, the strength and abilities of those trapped within gradually drain, making them weaker and more vulnerable. This creates a psychological advantage for the soul controlling the cast, allowing it to prey on its victims effectively.
The reason it is called a special cast is that it lasts much longer than a normal cast, which only lasts for a few minutes and increases the strength and abilities of the user. Inside that cast, it becomes nearly impossible to be beaten by the opponent.

Gojin placed a hand on his face, chuckling. The laughter grew and grew until it became a menacing cackle, making Kenji stare at him, thinking he might have a screw loose.
"This weak peasant really thinks this can hold me down. What a shame!" he muttered, turning to Kenji.
"In a minute, we'll be back in the hallway. Once we get there, run straight while I go the other way. I need to use a technique, and it requires space."
"Are you sure about this?"
"Just do it. No questions asked."
As expected, the room shifted again, and they were back in the passage. Instantly, Kenji ran straight down the hall while Gojin took the other side.
The locations were set to switch every five minutes, while outside, it was one and a half hours.
Gojin arrived at a dead end, confronted by a wall with strange writings in red. He took a step back, not caring about the inscriptions.
He removed his blindfold, and almost instantly, a green aura began emitting from the left side of his eye. His hair started to rise, flowing like a river.
A purple energy swirled from his feet up to his entire body, twisting like a vine around him.
"Reverse fate!"
This is a technique that grants the ability to reverse the outcome of a single event in battle, turning a loss into a victory or nullifying a fatal blow.
The space around him began to twist and contort, making him float in mid-air. The walls began to shatter and crumble, creating a swirling mass of destruction.
In an instant, a black line appeared in front of him, breaking like glass and opening up to reveal something.
A disfigured soul with a large build, it had a human figure, but its whole body was contorted with twisted limbs and one leg. It had a triangular-shaped head, with two short tendrils flowing down from it.
"So you are the troublemaker?" Gojin asked rhetorically with a menacing grin on his face that made him look even scarier than the soul.
The soul began to tremble, and its face fell in fear as its eyes met Gojin's.
"Lift Runo! Absolute doom!"
It let out a short cry as its body shattered, along with the whole structure behind it crumbling.
Everything began to explode, and the soul's blood splattered out, halting midway toward Gojin due to his barrier.
Luckily, Kenji would have already escaped since Gojin had reversed fate, finding a doorway to the outside.
The whole mansion exploded abruptly; Gojin raised his hands, and all the structures disappeared, leaving behind just an empty expanse of land.
He had simply made the structures vanish and reappear wherever he chose—a faraway wasteland.
This was due to his Ki tapping evolving by 99 times, allowing him to easily manipulate space, as it evolved into void manipulation and tripled its power.

"It doesn't normally double the exp rewards, and this is quite a lot since I normally get below 100, I guess it updates the older I get." Gojin thought, staring at the screen in front of him.

"It's still unavailable, I wonder when it will be available again. Now where's that dumbass?"
Gojin scanned the area for Kenji and soon spotted him lying on the ground, panting. He approached him.
"Let's go; we're done here. Luckily, this is an abandoned area, so nobody would have seen this."
Kenji lifted himself off the ground and walked behind Gojin with a relieved expression.
"He's really the strongest exorcist. I can't imagine how many techniques he might have," Kenji thought, staring at Gojin's back.
He walked like someone who had just won the lottery.
""I can't walk anymore," Gojin said, turning around. He held Kenji by the shoulder, and instantly they vanished, appearing right in front of the academy.
"Now let's go greet the remaining weaklings."
"Uhhm..." Kenji cleared his throat before continuing, "We're actually the only two students in the academy. I think Denji-sensei mentioned a new student coming tomorrow, but she isn't from any of the clans. After her, there are no other expected students for this year."
Gojin halted a few inches away from opening the gate. He turned around slowly to look at Kenji with a sharp glance.
"Did you just say we would be only three!?" he asked as he put his blindfold back on.
