Chapter 1382 Changing Face
1382 Changing Face
Raelle decided to ignore the bickering of these two people in her comment section as more and more people of family and friends started commenting. Raelle was reading through all the comments when she heard a shocked voice.
"How did you come first?" asked Mu Chenyan as she looked at her Raelle who was leisurely sipping on iced tea. She also ordered a peach iced tea for herself and sat down with Raelle. "Shouldn't I be first? How did you come here? Don't tell me you called for a helicopter. No, that's not right, there won't be enough time for parking and all that."
"I need to thank you for this victory," answered Raelle.
"Me?" Mu Chenyan raised her brow in interest. "How so?"
"Thank you for dragging me out every evening in that certain year to teach me how to ride a bicycle. Even though I kept insisting that it wasn't a necessary life skill to have, you held a different opinion and insisted on going against my wishes to teach me to ride it. Thank you so much!" n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
Mu Chenyan laughed at her solemn expression but felt good about this late gratitude too. She hadn't forgotten how this girl was so cranky those days about being disturbed by her as she wanted to teach her to ride a bicycle. "You're telling me, you came first by riding on a bicycle but I lost on a motorbike? Does that even make sense?" asked Mu Chenyan.
"It does," replied Raelle. "Because speed isn't everything. You need to work smartly too. The good thing is that none of the four of us are natives of this Kia city which means, it was our first time going to those landmarks and we are not that familiar with the city's roads and stuff either. I guess, you might have a little better understanding of this city than all three of us combined. But still, not to the point of it being your advantage. So, I found someone who has lived here all their lives and they told me the secret of the maze of the alleys in this district."
Mu Chenyan finally understood how she managed to win and smiled helplessly. Indeed, only she would think about patiently finding the optimal way to victory before taking any actions. It was really like her who always planned ahead before moving unlike the rest of them who were only rushing to get here first through speed.
"Then congratulations," said Mu Chenyan. "My Elle is still the best planner around."
Raelle gave her a smile in response.
It took a while before Cloe and Xiang Wai came almost around the same time. Since they were hailing cabs, it was obvious that they'd be stuck in the traffic at this time of the day. Why else would Mu Chenyan prefer a delivery bike over getting a car ride?
"Who won?" asked Xiang Wai as she gasped for breath as if she ran here.
"Raelle did," answered Cloe as she showed her phone screen to Xiang Wai where Raelle's post was displayed glaring at her.
"Damn!" Xiang Wai cursed under her breath. She extended her hand towards Raelle, "Show me proof of your pictures."
"Why should I start? You all have to do it too," retorted Raelle. "You came first, so we have to check yours first," Xiang Wai sounded so righteous saying that as if there was nothing wrong with her words and she wasn't just purposely attacking Raelle.
"No, we should start with the loser," insisted Raelle.
"No, winner!" argued Xiang Wai.
"Stop!" Mu Chenyan felt tired of being a mediator for the whole day. Why was it her job to stop arguments today? And why was this job so tiring? No wonder she preferred fighting over talking all her life. Who can talk about peace all the time? "Let's all put her phones on the table and show the pictures at the same time. Are we clear?"
"Yes," came the response from the other three. When they were all showing the pictures, it was clear that all of their focus was on Raelle's screen, and seeing her photos with those cute poses, they all were trying hard to suppress their laughter. "Raelle, how about you send this heart picture to me? I want to keep it as a memento?" Cloe looked at Raelle with a glimmer in her eyes.
"Me too! I want that cat paw one!" added Xiang Wai.
"If everyone is having one, I also want that bunny headband one," Mu Chenyan also joined them in asking for a photo.
Raelle gave them all a look and said, "I never said I was sharing. This dark history will stay with me."
"Whyyyyy~?" Xiang Wai dragged her word sounding whiny. "They are so cute. It's a historical moment. Why can't we have a part of it?"
"I said, no!" replied Raelle. "Would you send me yours?"
"YES!" Xiang Wai nodded her head like she was pounding garlic with her head. "I'll send you all five, don't even talk about one. You are my only sister. I'm such a generous elder sister, if you ask for it, I'll give you everything."
Raelle knew what her intention was by saying but she wasn't falling for it at all and refused to budge. She wasn't sending these photos to anyone. Maybe she'd show them to Shui Xian but apart from him, no one else was even allowed to see these photos ever again.
Her domineering image was seriously compromised by these photos.
"Go and order yourself a drink," said Raelle. "Aren't you thirsty by now? The sun is so hot. It almost turned me into a meat patty, a cooked one!"
Xiang Wai laughed at her words and went to order a drink for herself too.
As if the weather god heard Raelle's words, it suddenly started getting darker as clouds came to take over the job of the sun for the day. Raelle felt complicated and looked at the turning weather. Couldn't it change when she was about to be cooked out there? Why was it changing face now?
