Chapter 381 CH 367: SHOCKING TRUTH (1)
After Natasha threw her bombs, she looked at Adam attentively. She wondered how he would react to what she had just said.
"Oh…"
But to her surprise, expect a slight frown, he did not show much reaction and simply was showing a thoughtful expression.
"Adam…Did you hear what I just said?"
"Hum…Oh yeah of course. I am thinking about this currently."
" —And that all the reaction you are showing?"
"Hum? Ohhh. Hah, sorry. It isn't that I do not care about the danger itself. I already summarized that something like this was the reason you said to wait until the 10th. It wasn't hard to deduce that your life was in danger."
His voice was kind of monotone as he scratched his chin.
"Heh…"
"Also…You said there are chances you will die. Not that you are destined to die. I am sure that you can fight off Whatever is about to happen and I am sure I can help you, no matter what is about to happen."
Natasha was quite speechless right now. This was quite a first for her.
Ever since it was decided that she would go through her ceremony, all the members of the family had been looking at her like she was a walking dead. It was like, in their minds, there was simply no way for her to survive.
Her mother was crying every day. Her father had a tight face and her siblings were coddling or over-protecting her.
Even Aleksandra had a grave and grim expression and would sometime look out of sorts.
She knew they all loved her and because they loved her, they were cautious and walking on eggshells while trying to find a solution to the current situation.
Natasha smiled, "This is the first time someone told me I can do it."
Though it was clear Adam was speaking without knowing all the facts. If he knew more, he would surely be as worried as her parents were.
Sometimes, Ignorance was bliss and Natasha wondered if she should break the ignorance of Adam or if she should give him more information.
In the end though. She decided to change the direction of this discussion,
"A truth for a truth. As I told one, it's your turn now. Don't think I forgot about my questions simply because you brought me to the sky."
"I guess I wasn't that subtle, huh."
He adjusted his position as if he was sitting on a reclining chair and thought.
"Very well. You asked me two things. My relationship with Shuri and my true identity. So I will give you a first truth."
The words came out without hesitation. He had long since wished he could simply speak to someone outside of his mom about his power.
Natasha was someone he knew he could trust and she was not related to any hunter family. In fact, she was more or less related to him if all things were considered.
"I have four identities right now. The first one is simply Adam's Gospel. Ex-student of the university, rather normal though pretty handsome. A straight A student with no problem."
Light flashed and Adam was now covered in his work attire, a beautiful suit and a white mask covering his face.
"For the second one, I am simply Cinder."
His voice and demeanor changed, becoming more flirty and gentle, "I work as a Gigolo for Feng Huang Yui. Not much is known about me. But I am pretty popular."
Then, Cinder exploded in thousands of flying cards and as the cards vanished, a man clad in a red suit with a top hat, a was holding a cane in his hand gave a theatrical bow,
"I am The Magician. A new Gold Rank hunter who joined the association not long ago. Still no mission to my name. Though it will end soon. Hahaha!"
What stood in front of her was a jester. A man with no care in the world outside of amusement.
Finally, a dark light covered his body and this time, Natasha was forced to take a few steps back as she felt a shiver go down her spine.
When the light vanished, as if walking from the depth of hell, what stood in front of her was a man clad entirely in a black coat. Which gave her the impression that she was facing a grim reaper.
The feeling was in fact so strong that she felt like her head might go flying at any moment.
"This form has no clear name for now. Some simply call me Prince. I sometimes call it Death. Prince of Death? Hum. Something to think about. Either way, I am a part of the Wild Hunt and the one you are most likely searching for. A mass murderer and a criminal"
His voice was slow and guttural, his face was not visible, completely shrouded in darkness, making his overall impression much more sinister. All he lacked was a scythe and the get-up would be complete.
The form did not last long and in the end, everything vanished, and Adam came back to his normal self, a strained smile on his face.
"Technically, I have a fifth identity. But I never used it and I would need to go to Japan to be actually recognized and use it with no problem." He laughed lightly, clearly, and attempt to help clear the air and lighten the atmosphere. But soon, his expression simply went to a simple calm one,
"In the end though, those identities are all facets of my own personality. Masks that I put on and change depending on the situation. Furthermore, they are all nothing but smoke screens I am using to hide my true identity."
"So, what do you think, Natasha? Do you wish to know my final and true identity?"
Adam asked, his smile never leaving his face.
He might have been quite dramatic. But he also knew that this was a way to hide his own flustered mind.
What would Natasha choose? and if she choose to know more, what would she do?
He was curious.
