God of Crime: Strongest Mafia Boss

Chapter 536: CH 520: Elementary my dear

Charlotte Holmes had lived a long life compared to what her appearance suggested and she had witnessed many things.

Both good and bad. As a prominent detective and the heir of the Holmes family, she had been forced or rather incentived to explore the world of humanity and the supernatural in all its glory and decadence.

This was why she knew, the word genius was generally used very lightly and anyone showing a smidgen of talent would be slapped with that label.

Charlotte hated this. She hated how light this word had become and how many uncultured people with limited mental capacity used it.

If at least they were intelligent enough to realize their stupidity she would not feel so much grief but they were too stupid to realize they were stupid and were so stupid they thought they were smart.

In the last thirty years though, Charlotte has finally managed to witness true talent. True monsters worthy of being labeled as geniuses.

No…

In fact, the simple word "Genius" would even be an insult when it came to measuring their talent.

People like the now missing Mei Kaminari and Cecilia Kaminari.

Two women who had been akin to comets, illuminating the world for a short period before ultimately vanishing, their Fate unknown.

Cecilia in particular had been a subject of interest for her. After all the girl had been present during the Great Fire of London more than twenty years ago and helped tremendously.

Charlotte had not been able to give much help because of her own fight against Moriarty. Or at least this was what people believed.

Cutting her thought there, Charlotte looked at her protege and the young man who was restrained by the golden scale and mused quietly.

Theia Smith was an interesting girl and one that titillated Charlotte's sense of wonder and curiosity. She was not quite a monster of the like of Cecilia and Mei but she was not just a normal genius either.

Theia was a natural apostle. Ever since she was born she had been been under the umbrella of the Greek Titan of Justice.

A very powerful entity in the world beyond and one that was feared by many gods because of her power over Heavenly Fate and Justice.

After all, the concept of Justice was something extremely arbitrary and subjective. The very definition of justice was a discussion that could go for infinity.

A Titan like Theia had never managed to find a host until now because all her potential host were immediately exterminated.

Theia Smith survival was something that should not have been possible and yet her she was and now that she had contact with the supernatural, her power would grow continuously as long as she shared the same ideals as THEIA.

"Charlotte. What do I do now?"

"Well, since we got a bargain, I guess we should listen, to him, right?"

Charlotte approached Arsene with a jovial smile, "Arsene Lupin II was a talented man who gave me much grief. It's quite funny to see his descendant so helpless at the end of my student."

Arsene gave a bitter smile, "The future Holmes is indeed terrifying."

He could still feel the restrictions on his power. He did not even understand how this girl was able to do this shit and he shivered at the thought of what she could do once she reached the level of unlocking her Phantasm realm.

Now though wasn't the time to marvel about someone else talent and power.

He sighed and put on a serious expression, "Am I facing the true Charlotte Holmes, now?"

"In flesh and blood. Speak, boy. Why did Moriarty send you to me?"

"...So you managed to guess this."

"This is pretty elementary, my dear. There is no way Moriarty would let one of his most loyal goons act in such stupid way. I guess your sister served as a bait. Now then, do not waste our time further and speak. Your words will determine whether I keep you, kill you or arrest you."

"Very well." Arsen could feel the steel in this sweet voice and her smile gave him no illusion that he would escape a swift death should he not satisfy her. The way her face was smiling while her eyes remained cold and distant was pretty frightening.

Even though he was standing in front of her and wed 'ktenin

In this moment, Arsene remembered what Moriarty told him about Charlotte Holmes.

[This girl is a monster of pride and greed wearing human clothes and a mask to hide the ugliness of her heart. Do not be fooled by her title or appearance. Detective she might be, but she is no ally of justice. Money is not her goal and fame hold no importance for her. Charlotte Holmes is a drug addict.

A woman who move only based on her interest and become lethargic when nothing stimulating happens to satiate her urge. Getting her to help us is very simple really. You simply need to tell her this…]

"Theia. Free him. I have believe our friend here will not try to flee. Right?" She asked as she raised an eyebrow playfully.

He nodded. He had no reason to flee now that it was clear that he wasn't going to get killed.

Once he was free from the shackles and the golden scale vanished, he massaged his sore arms and spoke.

"The ones who summoned Surtr back then are the ones causing trouble again this time."

"Oh?"

Arsene immediately took two step back, this action was fueled more by a primordial instinct than any other reason as he gazed at the previously indifferent eyes who were suffused with light and joy.

Her eyes moved and he could nearly feel her mind ran at full speed. In the end, a smile formed on her face. A genuine smile of the like that could only be seen on children who had entered a candy store

"I was wondering why and how the news of you two stealing a divine weapon managed to spread out but now I see. So this was why…"

Charlotte laughed out loud when realization dawned upon her.

Truly. Coming here was definitely one of the best decision she ever made.
