Chapter 525: 525: The Second Trial

Chapter 525: Chapter 525: The Second Trial

The Dragon Dream Beast’s body was covered in a dense array of green runes, clearly restrained by something. Nonetheless, it still let out an agonizing roar.

In its eyes was a frenzied gleam signaling that this beast was wildly crazy, devoid of significant intelligence.

As the cage was opened, all the centaurs swiftly retreated. The Dragon Dream Beast in the Trial Ground, furiously roaring at the centaurs above, looked as if it was ready to pounce and devour anyone on sight.

Li Yao narrowed his eyes slightly and said, “I didn’t expect you to have this kind of creature. Plus, it’s about to become a leader. It looks like you’re nurturing it aside from restraining it.”

“Brother, you are indeed well informed. It’s indeed challenging to capture this kind of creature. The stronger they are, the harder it gets. We raise them to better extract their origin power. Nevertheless, it’s quite a pity. Keeping these beasts now seems pointless,” Young Khan said, his countenance turning a bit grave as he seemed to be reminded of some unpleasant matter.

“You’d better choose a person. But let me remind you, brother, this creature is bloodthirsty and berserk. It’s best to dispatch a dependable hand,” the army commander admonished.

“I still believe in their ability to choose for themselves.” Li Yao nodded at Sister Li.

The members of Starfire looked eagerly at Sister Li, apparently all itching to enter the fray.

Eventually, Sister Li’s gaze landed on Unparalleled Enchantress, asking, “Can your kick lift up something this heavy?”

The Unparalleled Enchantress replied, “Kicking this little guy away is no big deal.”

Sister Li nodded, saying, “Then I’ll have to trouble you.”

“Piece of cake.” The Unparalleled Enchantress nodded, slowly stepping down into the Trial Ground.

As she descended, she asked, “If I kill it, does that mean I win?”

All the centaurs burst into laughter at Unparalleled Enchantress’ question, while Young Khan was stunned for a moment, then said, “This creature is no pushover. It’s ruthless and berserk. If you can hold out for ten minutes, that would be substantial.”

“I just want to know, if I killed this creature, would it count as my victory?” Unparalleled Enchantress ignored their snickering.

“If you kill this creature within ten minutes, you will get double the reward,” Young Khan said with a chuckle.

“Good to know.” The Unparalleled Enchantress finished speaking and descended into the Trial Ground.

Young Khan remarked with a bitter smile, “I set this standard not to belittle you all, but because this challenge is pretty tough. Even though this beast isn’t a leader, leaders of ordinary class wouldn’t be a match for it.”

Li Yao laughed, saying, “People under me are all unruly and rebellious, a little lesson might do them good.”

Seeing Li Yao put it that way, Young Khan didn’t say anything more and looked down. He seemed to have grasped something.

Though Li Yao talked about giving a lesson to his men, in reality, it was the exact opposite. It showcased his confidence.

Roar…

The Dragon Dream Beast that was roaring madly seemed furious that someone had dared to step down, supposedly to their death, and immediately charged towards her.

The Starfire team noticed, the speed of the Dragon Dream Beast was even faster than the centaurs.

They also understood why Young Khan claimed this creature was difficult to handle.

However, the Unparalleled Enchantress’ expression didn’t change at all as she stood still on the spot.

At forty yards away, the Dragon Dream Beast leaped up and, like an arrow off a bowstring, darted towards the Unparalleled Enchantress.

The creature’s claws and fangs shimmered with a green glow, an indication of the potent toxin they were imbued with.

The centaurs quickly jeered in disappointment. From their perspective, the stationary outsider was already doomed.

The Dragon Dream Beast not only had a swift running pace, but its attack speed was astoundingly fast, and its body carried a lethal toxin.

The toxin had both paralyzing and slowing effects. Being hit once would often lead to a relentless onslaught of attacks, essentially leaving no room for escape.

The moment the Dragon Dream Beast charged, the Unparalleled Enchantress moved her hands as if drawing the Tai Chi symbol.

Thwack…

The moment the Dragon Dream Beast attacked the Unparalleled Enchantress, her body vanished instantaneously.

With a flash of cold light, the torn apart puppet decoy fell on the ground.

Starfire’s team took a sharp intake of breath. They had had several encounters with the Unparalleled Enchantress and knew that her puppet’s defense was quite formidable, yet, faced with this beast, it was ripped apart in one strike.

This clearly showed how formidable this beast was. If it attacked a human, there would likely only be one outcome: instant death.

With the Dragon Dream Beast’s attack completed, it was time for Unparalleled Enchantress’ counterattack.

As a Dusk Thief, whether attacking first or last, there are no openings to exploit. Despite her attacks not being particularly high, if she strung them together, any job class would struggle to endure.

The moment the Dragon Dream Beast tore apart the puppet, the Unparalleled Enchantress’ silhouette showed up behind the beast.

Her two daggers, also shimmering with a green glow, swiftly pierced the creature’s back heart. The daggers crossed each other and with a jolt, a deluge of green blood splattered out.

This was a characteristic of Dream creatures; their blood was green.

This was a skill that thieves of level twenty could learn; the Cross Backstab, a powerful skill not only capable of causing extensive damage, but also inflicting double bleeding, an incredibly domineering ability.

Roar!

The Dragon Dream Beast was quick to react. Following the backstab, it wheeled around, its icy claws swinging towards the Unparalleled Enchantress.

Yet, the Unparalleled Enchantress once again drew the Tai Chi symbol with her hands.

Plop…

Another puppet was torn apart by its claws, while the Unparalleled Enchantress entered stealth mode again.

Dusk Thief was stripped of its ability to directly enter stealth mode and can’t stay in this state forever, but instead, several skills of this class could induce stealth under certain conditions.

For example, the Substitution Technique, Shadow Attack, Shadow Transposition, and Transplanting Flowers and Trees. Although Unparalleled Enchantress haven’t mastered all skills yet, she thoroughly understood the profession’s essence and was able to display the class’s terrifying abilities.

Aside from Li Yao, anyone attempting to defeat her would have a hard time, at least in the battles within Starfire.

This time, she didn’t appear behind the Dragon Dream Beast, but materialized in front of it. Her daggers, gleaming with an icy glow, plunged ruthlessly into the creature’s forehead.

Thump!

Pick!

Amid the spraying blood, the beast entered a dizzy state.

With the beast’s dizziness, the Unparalleled Enchantress’ daggers, trailing numerous shadows, continuously lacerated its neck and face.

In the blink of an eye, she attacked four times, and it had been merely a second. This showed how astonishingly fast her attacks were.

As the Dragon Dream Beast was about to regain consciousness, the Unparalleled Enchantress suddenly twisted her body in the air, rotating 360 degrees around the beast’s neck, and then landing on the ground. Meanwhile, the daggers in her hands frantically cut open several wounds on its neck.

After this combination, a quarter of the Dragon Dream Beast’s health had depleted.

Pick, induces three or four seconds of dizziness. But for a high-level beast like this, it would be barely two seconds.
