Chapter 582: Chapter 582: Transaction
The Frogman Prince asked, puzzled, “A win-win situation, what kind of win-win situation?”
Li Yao smiled slightly and said, “It’s quite simple. We plan to build a port that will serve as a transit station for the flow of materials between the sandbar and the main city. But the problem is, we are currently short on manpower in our guild, and we don’t have the capacity to guard the port. We want to move your base there too.”
The Frogman Prince looked troubled, “That might pose a bit of a difficulty.”
Li Yao questioned curiously, “Your current base seems to be quite shabby. The port that we are planning to build will definitely be much better. It will have houses for living creatures from the mainland, and although Murlocs need to stay near the water for a long time, you Frogmen can do without the land. Living in comfortable houses, equipped with various facilities from the mainland will be a good idea. Your current base lacks everything, a move there would not only help us in preventing attacks on the port but also make it easier for us to stay in contact. As the number of residents increase and being an ally of our guild, it will make it easier for you to assign tasks to us or others, wouldn’t it?”
The Frogman Prince shook his head, “I, of course, see the advantages, but it’s Naga’s territory, my small tribe is certainly not daring to provoke it now.”
Li Yao laughed, “You don’t need to worry about that. Yesterday, during the transportation of materials, the so-called tribe tried to intercept our transport ship from the main city, they were scattered all over the place by our cannon fire. Along with the lot of Nagas that attacked our guild yesterday, I specifically observed that there are hardly any Nagas left. I believe they would retreat without a fight if your tribe moved there and you could even recruit the rattled Murlocs who no longer have a leader, which could, in turn, strengthen your tribe.”
“If it’s as you said, we are actually benefiting from it,” said the Frogman Prince who finally seemed to be persuaded by Li Yao.
Having wandered alone by the sea for so long, he deeply admired the civilization of the mainland.
Especially after getting to know Li Yao, who invested heavily in him, bringing him a variety of useful stuff from the mainland every time they met, along with some fine wines and foods, and comfortable houses with big beds.
Now every time he returns to the water, he feels that it’s dull, hence, this is his main motivation for establishing a base on the shore.
Moreover, on hearing that his base lacked everything, the Frogman Prince also felt embarrassed.
He wanted to construct houses but could only build a wooden shed without walls made of wood and water grass. It was very humiliating to have something that was way much off in comparison to the houses built by the other beings he met.
Hearing that Li Yao was building houses with more stability and no worries of invasion, he was naturally willing to move in.
And so, with an agreement between the two, under the leadership of Li Yao, they brought a crowd of Frogmen and Murlocs to the dock.
Seeing such a large group, the remaining two or three hundred Nagas directly dived into the deep sea, preferring to flee without a fight. The Murlocs stranded on the shore immediately surrendered and joined their tribe.
Although Murlocs are an intelligent species, in the deep sea, there are very few independent tribes of Murlocs.
They often revere powerful beings in the deep sea as divine beings, serving them. For example, Naga, Eclipse Wyrm, Frogmen, in front of their powerful beings, they could only exist as subsidiary races.
Two hours later, this place had already become the domain of the Frogmen, and no other forces dared to invade. After all, the attack on Li Yao’s guild was too costly.
Li Yao introduced the several elders and Sister Li to the Frogmen, explaining the situation to the guild, stating that as allies, they could take on tasks and exchange them for rare items from the sea.
After giving instructions, Li Yao returned directly to the guild in the main city, where there was not a soul in sight.
Li Yao once again ran to the Royal District and then found the lady official.
The lady official was processing files. Seeing Li Yao, she said, “Looking for the Queen? But she’s out today.”
Li Yao nodded and said, “I’m here to see you, sister.”
“Looking for me?” The lady official looked at Li Yao in confusion but then smiled and said, “Didn’t your guild just achieve a great victory? Your guild envoy is still validating the military achievements and in a couple days can allocate them.”
“I’m not in a rush for that.” Li Yao changed the topic of conversation, “I’m here because I want sister to help me. I want to buy some ships to establish a shipping line.”
The lady official paused and then frowned, “That can’t work. You know it, only after your guild’s base turns into a large town, you can qualify to buy ships. Yesterday, helping you guys transport some stuff already violated the rules. If we sell you ships, while the Queen might not say anything and it might seem trivial to us, it against the rules. If we break them, other races might use this against the Queen.”
Li Yao nodded and said, “I understand, but I believe the bargaining chip I have to offer would be something that even those big shots would welcome.”
The lady official would no longer treat Li Yao as an ordinary rookie. She had witnessed Li Yao’s performance; it was commendable and was enough to gain the Queen’s attentions, not to mention his achievements from last night. Plus, from a personal perspective, she naturally wanted to help Li Yao, but she was unable to due to the rules in place.
“Oh? Let’s hear it then”
Li Yao opened his hand and said, “You recognize this, right sister?”
The lady official frowned and said, “It’s ordinary tin ore. What’s special about it?”
“This was found in a small hillside near our guild,” Li Yao explained.
The previously indifferent look on the official lady’s face changed instantly and she asked, “Are you sure it’s a mine?”
Li Yao nodded and said, “I’m sure. And according to our guild’s exploration, it’s going to be at least a medium-sized mine. I want to use half of the mine’s output to exchange for some transport ships, and for the main city to grant us a shipping route.”
Li Yao was well aware of the situation of the Dark Camp. In fact, the Dark Camp was always on the losing side in its confrontation with the Light Faction. The reason — resources.Nôv(el)B\\jnn
The Human Kingdom occupied expansive, wealthy areas, the Ancient Elves were naturally the top race just below demigods, Dwarfs, Gnomes, Werewolves, each race had its own territory.
The situation for the Dark Camp was different, they largely occupied barren areas. The Orcs had a disagreement with the Ancient Elves over food and timber.
Needless to say, the Tauren were nearly wiped out by the centaurs and are still in hiding. It’s only been a few years since the High Elves experienced their major changes, the Goblins were located on barren islands, and their resources were long exhausted.
The Undead were established on the ruins of the Human Kingdom, they were so poor, resources were extremely scarce.
Any kind of resource for the Dark Camp was a valuable asset…
