Chapter 892 Four Pillars: End of the Road

Chapter 892  Four Pillars: End of the Road

"And here I thought you were gonna let comprehend my Intents long enough for them to become Forces."

Whoosh!

Stepping out of the construct containing the Crystallized Nomological Shards, a tired expression could be seen on the young man's face as he made his way out.

Though, if one were to peer directly into his eyes, one would feel as if they were peering into the deep truths of the universe.

Specifically, the deep truths that the young man had comprehended.

"Well, I could have done that," said Vaughn as he began to dismantle the construct. "However, the Force you'll form through that method would become shoddy at best. It'd basically suffer from the same issues your Intents would have suffered if I hadn't intervened."

"Even though the Concept Impartation was powered through the shards?" asked Valyr in response, looking at the man with curiosity.

"Yeah." Vaughn nodded. "The purity of the comprehension wouldn't be the problem at that point. It would be the experience."

"Experience…" With his mind mulling over this word for a bit, Valyr eventually nodded in understanding, watching the man stow away the construct as if it hadn't been there in the first place.

Having spent what felt like days on end within the construct, the young man had made great leaps and strides in the concepts he'd comprehended, going over them one by one in his mind.

For one, the Intent Seeds of Forging and the Forger's Flames had now become fleshed-out Intents, reaching the 6th Grade by the time he was made to leave the construct.

As for the Intents that were integral to the formation of his Azure Energy, both of them had also reached the 6th Grade, with the Intent of Shadow Energy not far away from reaching the 5th Grade in terms of comprehension.

The Intent of True Mana, a concept Valyr had inadvertently comprehended thanks to Sellifer's Concept Impartation, was slightly lagging behind from the other Intents, stopping just at the threshold between the 7th and 6th Grade.

'Then again, with how I've been making use of Azure Energy more often lately, it would take some time to get the experience needed to push it higher,' thought the young man to himself.

Mulling over the matter for a bit more, another thought surfaced in the young man's mind. 'Hmm… perhaps I could integrate it into Azure Energy as well. After all, I've met the necessary requirements to proceed to the next stage.'

Deciding to think about his Azure Energy some other time, the young man soon focused his attention on the concept he'd comprehended through the construct, grabbing the spear that had been on his back all this time.

'[Intent of the Unyielding Spear].'

Whoosh!

At the moment he activated his newly obtained Intent, Valyr felt a great amount of energy course throughout his body.

However, most of that energy was redirected towards the spear he was holding, which now gave off a faint crimson light in response.

"I feel stronger, Master!" Even though it's been quite some time since the two of them talked to one another, Sana's voice resounded in Valyr's mind with great glee.

Hearing that, the young man felt a bit guilty for not talking with his spear that often.

"You'll get even stronger from here on out," said Valyr in response, eliciting Sana to radiate a feeling of excitement and expectation.

Out of all the Intents he'd comprehended within the construct, Valyr had spent the most time on the Intent Seed of the Spear, bringing it up through the four stages before eventually breaking through to an Intent.

Fortunately, the experience he'd accrued was more than enough to push the Intent up to 7th Grade, which equated to a 30% boost to his Attack coefficient if he were to use it.

"Hoh. Quite a peculiar curse you've got there." While the young man was familiarizing himself with the sensation of using his spear with the Intent, Vaughn's eyes gleamed with curiosity as he sensed Valyr's strength gradually waning with more time.

"Got it from having my spear absorb the blood of a Prodigious Tidemother," said Valyr in response, returning the spear back to where it was as he gave Vaughn a brief rundown of how he'd gotten it in the first place.

"I see. The Mark of the Alltide, huh." Listening intently to the young man's explanation, Vaughn furrowed his brows for a bit as he heard the name of the curse Valyr received.

Mulling over it for a bit, Vaughn soon gave him an offer. "Do you want me to remove the curse for you?"

In response, Valyr's eyes gleamed with excitement. "Can you?"

Vaughn merely chuckled. "Of course I can. I'm a Greater God. The Alltide is nothing compared to me."

Though, after that, his expression became serious. "However, if I were to do that, I'd basically be cutting off the potential your spear has to evolve even further."

"From the feeling I'm getting from it, that spear has been with you since the beginning of your journey, correct?"

Valyr nodded.

"Then, all the more reason for me to give you the choice," replied Vaughn. "After all, even if I didn't give you the option, the curse would disappear on its own after you have your spear absorb the blood of the stronger Tidemothers."

"But of course, you'll have to live with the curse throughout all that, worsening the stronger the blood your spear absorbs."

"Wait… why would it disappear on its own?" asked Valyr, taking note of one thing Vaughn mentioned.

"Something about the curse being the Alltide's way of choosing a successor." Vaughn shrugged his shoulders. "Then again, it's definitely better than the other ideas that Divine werebeast has come up with."

"Wait…" Hearing Vaughn's words once more, Valyr furrowed his brows as the gears in his mind went on overdrive. "Does that mean the monster tides people have been facing were controlled by someone else all this time?"

"Technically." Vaughn nodded. "However, the Alltide doesn't directly control it anymore. Instead, it's another being altogether. Probably a high-ranking Tidemother with all things considered."

"Anyways, that's not the point. Do you want me to remove the curse from you or not?" "Well…" Taking into consideration everything Vaughn had told him so far, Valyr mulled over the choice for quite some time. "Would it be possible for me to toggle the curse's effects instead so I could keep improving my spear?"

"I mean…" At those words, Vaughn went silent as he closed his eyes for a bit. "It wouldn't be impossible. Difficult even for someone like me to do, but not impossible."

"However, it'll take a while for me to come up with a solution," he continued. "By the time I finish coming up with a solution, the war would've probably gone past its climax already. Is that fine with you?"

"That's fine with me," said Valyr in response, inwardly letting out a sigh of relief as he got the best of both worlds. "I've gotten used to working around the curse anyway."

Considering that the only thing left for him to do in this place before leaving was to obtain ownership over the Four Pillars' Inheritance, the young man took a look at how much his stats had improved thus far.

Ding!

Remarks: Your strength has already gone beyond the boundaries of what is considered normally feasible. Many shall look at you with awe, fear, and reverence whenever you unleash your strength on your foes.

Nevertheless, the strength you've shown is proof that your path to supremacy remains strong. With your strength bordering on the transcendental, this path now widens before you.

'I've gained a lot more from the inheritance than I initially thought.' Whistling in slight admiration as he looked at his status screen in greater detail, the young man faintly thought about how crazy his stats would become if he were to activate all of his buffs at once.

'I'd probably be able to defeat a Myth if that were the case,' thought the young man to himself in response, chuckling as he looked at Vaughn.

"Well, you've more or less gotten everything you could obtain from me and the inheritance for the meantime," said Vaughn, faintly smiling as he took note of what Valyr done.

"With that, there's only one thing left for you to do before you can leave this inheritance for good."

"Shall we proceed with the transfer of ownership, then?
