MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith

Chapter 920 Slight Desperation

920  Slight Desperation

Controlling the Intent of Shadow Energy empowered by the stage of Tetrad, it did not take long for a smile to appear on Valyr's face, more than satisfied with the improvement the new stage brought.

"The fact that just weaving another concept into it already boosts the effect of an Intent this much makes me hopeful for the time I reach Dual Trinity," said Valyr to himself, chuckling as he toyed around with the Intent for a bit more.

After he was done with the Intent of Shadow Energy, he moved onto his other combat-related Intents, going through them more or less in a similar fashion to when he achieved Trinity for the first time.

After all, aside from the fact that the Intents had considerably become stronger now that he was weaving four Intents at once, there wasn't really much change in the overall scheme of things.

Unsurprisingly, the young man faced difficulty yet again once he attempted Tetrad on the production-related Intents, considering how the concepts the other Intents tackled didn't match the other two he had.

Though, as he already had experience with this problem in the past, it only took a couple more hours for the young man to successfully achieve Tetrad for his production-related Intents.

"I suppose it's time to test the effects of Tetrad out while forging weapons." Seeing that it was still midday, Valyr made the decision to head to the Blacksmith Guild.

Of course, the young man knew that he had already spent the past four days wide awake in his attempts to push the Truth Weaver Scripture to the next step, which made him think whether or not he should take a rest before doing so.

However, as the adrenaline from successfully achieving Tetrad was still coursing throughout his body, Valyr felt that there wasn't any problem in pushing his luck.

And if he were to fall asleep while in the midst of forging weapons for the quota?

He could just tell Julian he was getting some rest.

After all, that's what he wanted, right?

"To think you've forged over 100 weapons in a span of a couple weeks," said Julian as he interacted with his screen. "You're definitely alleviating quite a bit of the burden the Blacksmith Guild is facing."

Ding!

Receiving the quest containing his usual quota, Valyr took a brief look at it before chuckling. "It's the least I can do, especially with how much I've gained from entering the inheritance."

"Speaking of which, what happened after you shared those packets of information throughout the guild?" asked the young man not long after, looking at Julian with a hint of curiosity.

During his second trip to the Blacksmith Guild, Julian asked Valyr in the midst of forging whether or not he could share more of the information he got from the inheritance, mentioning that he would be using it as some sort of incentive.

Though slightly annoyed at first, the young man eventually acquiesced, giving the man information on technology up to the end of the Early Middle Ages, as well as technology that encompassed the beginning and the peak of the High Middle Ages.

"Surprisingly, many of the blacksmiths that got those packets have made great strides in their forging," replied Julian, closing his screen as he looked at Valyr with a grateful smile.

"By sharing information up to the High Middle Ages, the amount of Technology Points for them to unlock advancements in their Technology Trees had been greatly reduced, improving the overall knowledge of the blacksmiths in our guild."

"Alongside knowledge, their skills and quality of craft have also improved as well, with many of them now entering the level of elite blacksmiths in terms of skill."

"Some have even gone above and beyond, now standing at the forefront when it comes to forging with knowledge of High Middle Age technology," said the man with a bit of pride.

"Of course, when we compare to someone like me or the directors of the other Blacksmith Guild branches, they're still lacking." Julian chuckled. "If we compare them to you, then they're leagues behind from where you stand."

"As long as it could help," said Valyr with a smile, satisfied that one small decision of his had a large positive effect on the others. "Now that I think about it, what happened to the proposal with the blueprints?"

"At this point, I think I'm the only one among them that still holds hope in making it a reality." Julian let out a faint sigh. "I tried discussing it with the other directors after you returned to the inn back then, but to no avail."

"Is it still because you're lacking proof?" asked Valyr, to which Julian nodded in response.

Just as the man was about to ask the young man why he brought up the topic again, Valyr soon told Julian something that left the latter at a loss for words.

"Well, if that's the problem, why don't I just come with you the next time you have a meeting with the other directors?" said Valyr, a faint smile adorning his face at the end of it. "I could show them how useful the armor is so the proposal gets through, while also showing them how useful my improved arquebus is so you don't have to make another proposal after that."

"You get your wish granted, while I get the rewards we've agreed upon and a bit more. It's a win-win situation, no?" At those words, Valyr let out a bit of laughter.

08:35

"…" Becoming silent as he went over the words the young man said to him in his mind, Julian eventually let out a deep exhale before looking at Valyr with a calm expression.

"You're doing humanity a great service." With a nod, Julian had more or less confirmed that he was on board with Valyr's idea. "Your contributions wouldn't go unnoticed."

Hearing Julian's words, Valyr merely smiled, nodding before making his way to the workshop he was allocated.

Once there, he went through the usual task of preparing his workshop for the long forging session.

From ordering the materials he needed to organizing them into neat piles, to firing up the furnace, all of them were done in a fluid motion, giving Valyr the canvas he needed to test out the improved Truth Weaver Scripture.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

Activating [Ephemeral Limbs of the First Blacksmith], Valyr soon activated the Truth Weaver Scripture, focusing the power of Tetrad on his Intent of Forging.

With the two working together alongside his Hammer of Beginnings, as well as the many skills and titles he had related to forging, it took Valyr a total of two and a half days to go through the quota, shaving off an entire half day compared to his previous quota.

"[Superior Analysis]." Though he'd already been awake for an entire week at this point, Valyr still felt alert as he took a quick look at the last weapon he forged for the quota.

Ding!

[Refined War Scythe of Voras] (Level 55)

Rarity: Rare

Foundation Tier: None

Attack: 391 - 651

Forge Quality: Exceptional

Though the blueprint used to forge the weapon is considered subpar at best, with the goal of forging a great number of its kind in a short amount of time, this weapon has transcended the boundaries of its blueprint, most of it due to the blacksmith that forged it.

In its current state, it could be considered an exquisite weapon made for the sole purpose of killing, a weapon many would seek to obtain for themselves. Of course, that's all due to the blacksmith that forged it, their skill seemingly originating the beginning of blacksmithing itself.

<Innate Skill 1: Made for War - Increases the user's Attack stat by 5%>

<Innate Skill 2: Battlefield Harvester - Allows the user to slash out horizontally, sending out a blade that covers a radius of 3 meters around the user, dealing 250% of the user's Attack stat. Cooldown: 30 seconds. Cost: 500 MP.>

Remarks: It's a scythe, alright. Average in nature, but one of your better works.

"Compared to the Rare items I've forged near the beginning of my journey, it's definitely better in many ways than before," muttered Valyr to himself, more than satisfied with the items he'd forged.

With the quota and the test on the effects of Tetrad on forging complete, the young man sent a message to Julian as he made his way out of the guild, giving the latter a heads-up that he was done.

'I should probably ask Julian the next time I come here if the weapons those at the frontlines need really need to be forged by the Blacksmith Guild,' thought the young man to himself as he walked to the entrance, recalling the cache of weapons within the inheritance.

Letting out a slightly long yawn after that, the young man was just about to leave the Blacksmith Guild for good…

Only to be disturbed by a couple of messages from Noel. n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

Ding!

"I hope you haven't forgotten me, Valyr. I'm not forcing you to come to the Spearman Guild right now, but I do hope you come at some point."

"I just want to see how you're doing, that's all."

Reading through the messages he received, Valyr soon had a look of realization on his face, as if the jigsaw pieces making up his mind had finally clicked together. "Right... Noel wanted me to head to the Spearman Guild because of my Azure Energy."

"Well…" Pondering over the matter for a bit, a slight frown adorned Valyr's face as he read through the messages once more.

Thankfully, it did not take long for him to come to a decision.

"He did say he's not forcing me to come to the Spearman Guild today," said Valyr with a shrug of his shoulders, taking the man's words at face value.

"I guess I'll head back to the inn first, then head there after I wake up."

And with that, Valyr made up his mind, pushing Noel's messages to the side for the meantime as he arrived at the inn not long after.

Valyr isn't intentionally avoiding Noel at all. Definitely not.
