Xi Jiaxin was quick to grab Liu Ruyan, dragging her upstairs towards the room.

Liu Ruyan had no idea what was happening.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

But she could sense the raging fury emanating from Xi Jiaxin.

He thrust Liu Ruyan into the room, slamming the door shut with a bang.

Then he swung at her, shouting, “You disgusting wretch!”

Taken off guard, Liu Ruyan fell to the ground, her ears ringing from the slap.

Turning his way, she retaliated: “Xi Jiaxin, what the hell is wrong with you?”

Liu Ruyan really couldn’t figure out why Xi Jiaxin was furious.

He’d called her yesterday claiming he was still on a business trip in Japan.

In truth, she knew he’d been back for two days.

Spending his time in various decadent venues.

But such constant womanizing was typical behavior for Xi Jiaxin.

She’d long since grown accustomed to this side of him.

Regardless of how many extramarital affairs he had, she was Mrs. Xi, and that was enough.

They’d always managed to maintain a respectful relationship over the years.

Xi Jiaxin relied heavily on her for business matters and had always treated her with respect, never raising a hand against her.

Still, his behavior today was alarmingly out of character.

Could he have found out?

How could he?

Pushing through the pain, she presses him: “Husband, what on earth is wrong?”

“What’s wrong? Liu Ruyan, you poisonous hag! Are you trying to kill me?”

Liu Ruyan was taken aback: “Why would you say something so awful? We’re doing fine, you’re my husband, my rock. Why would you think such a thing?”

Xi Jiaxin scoffed: “Your husband? Isn’t that how you killed your previous one?”

Liu Ruyan’s expression changed: “Why bring that up now? You were involved in that too, you arranged that car accident to look like drunk driving.”

She approached him, trying to soothe him, placing a hand on his chest: “Jiaxin, what on earth has gotten you so riled up? We’re in this together, for better or worse. Tell me what’s happened.”

Xi Jiaxin was still seething.

He tightened his grip on Liu Ruyan’s arm: “Liu Ruyan, you’re still playing dumb! You’ve been having an affair with Han Cheng! You wanted to replay your old trick—using the same method you used to murder Xia Liangdong—to kill me. You tampered with my car, trying to stage an accident. Luckily, I’m hard to kill. Now it’s your turn, Liu Ruyan.”

With that, Xi Jiaxin had his hand around her neck: “You wicked woman! You thought you could deceive me, even murder me. Is it my wealth you’re after? Is that why you’ve been so eager to help me with my business—that was your scheme all along, wasn’t it, Liu Ruyan? I am not Xia Liangdong, you won’t fool me so easily.”

Liu Ruyan hadn’t expected her affair with Han Cheng to be discovered.

She vehemently denied the allegations that she had tampered with his car. She had done no such thing.

But soon enough, she was struggling for breath.

Liu Ruyan clutched desperately at Xi Jiaxin’s hand, her face turning red, on the brink of suffocation.

Just in time, Xia Weiwei bustled in, shoving Xi Jiaxin off.

Liu Ruyan collapsed onto the floor, panting heavily.
