Chapter 189: Trampling Wang Ai

Chapter 189: Chapter 189: Trampling Wang Ai

Even though the spirit was restrained, when facing others, he was undoubtedly one of the strongest in the world. Feng Xingtong believed that aside from the old Taoist Master, none of the other Ten Elders could match this spirit of his.

So, barring any surprises, he was confident that tomorrow's battle was already in the bag!

At that moment, a figure suddenly appeared in front of him.

Looking up, he was startled to see that it was none other than his boss, the Immortal Lord—Alex!

Feng Xingtong, puzzled, asked,

"Boss, why are you here?"

Alex tossed an energy orb at Feng Xingtong, explaining: "This is a fragment of my power. During your fight with Wang Bing, if you find yourself losing, activate it. It will guarantee your victory."

Feng Xingtong was stunned but didn't question why Alex was suddenly concerned about his match.

As a subordinate, he understood his role well. Whatever his boss instructed, he would execute without asking questions.

He nodded repeatedly, saying,

"Don't worry, Boss! With your help, I'll definitely win!"

---

Soon, the previous match ended, and it was time for Feng Xingtong to face Wang Bing.

The two began by clashing in hand-to-hand combat, where Wang Bing, a direct descendant of the Wang family, clearly held the upper hand.

Realizing he was outmatched in physical combat, Feng Xingtong seized an opportunity during a collision to put some distance between them. He then extended his hand, emitting black energy as he prepared to use his spirit against Wang Bing.

To his surprise, as he activated his technique, Wang Bing mirrored his actions, his own hands also releasing black energy.

Feng Xingtong exclaimed in surprise,

"Huh? I didn't expect you to know sorcery too. Well then, watch me show off!"

A stream of black energy surged from Feng Xingtong's palm, materializing into a massive serpent-like shadow in midair.

This serpent shadow was far larger than in the original storyline, a direct result of the changes brought about by the transformation of heaven and earth.

Due to this transformation, the spirit had also broken through his limits. His current strength was now several times greater than before.

The soul was now so massive that even though Feng Xingtong had mastered his technique specifically designed to control spirits, he could only barely manage to manipulate him. He could no longer summon or command the spirit as easily as in the original storyline.

Controlling the soul, Feng Xingtong shouted, "Lend me your power!"

The next moment, the soul flew toward Feng Xingtong. But just as it was about to merge with him, it suddenly halted in midair, unable to proceed further.

Feng Xingtong, confused, asked,

"What's going on? Why won't you come down?"

At this moment, he noticed that Wang Bing's eyes were also glowing with white spiritual light—a clear sign that the same technique had been activated.

Feng Xingtong then sensed a powerful force acting on the soul, trying to wrest it away. Alarmed, he immediately fought back.

The force acting on the soul was undoubtedly from Wang Bing, who laughed heartily and said,

"Hahaha! High-quality spirits like this are hard to come by nowadays. Feng Xingtong, don't be so stingy. Hand this spirit over to me!

"Once I consume it, my strength will soar. Don't worry; my Wang family won't mistreat you in the future!"

There was no way Feng Xingtong would agree to this. Setting aside personal interests, if the soul was taken from him and devoured by Wang Bing, his family would certainly never forgive him.

Even from a moral standpoint, Feng Xingtong could not allow the pure and simple soul to meet such a cruel fate.

Feng Xingtong shouted angrily,

"Don't even think about it!"

The two of them used the same technique to tug at the soul. From the start, Feng Xingtong was at a disadvantage.

Suddenly, Wang Bing pulled out a vengeful spirit and swallowed it, instantly boosting his strength. With his power enhanced, Wang Bing completely overpowered Feng Xingtong and began dragging the soul toward himself.

In the original storyline, faced with such a situation, Feng Xingtong had no choice but to forcibly stimulate his body's acupoints, temporarily increasing his strength. At the cost of severe injuries, he managed to snatch the soul back from Wang Bing.

But now, with Alex's intervention, he had another option.

Feng Xingtong activated the barely noticeable energy hidden within his body. When his intent connected with that energy, his expression changed dramatically.

The previously dim energy abruptly expanded, transforming into a radiant sun that floated within his core.

Despite the energy's destructive potential, capable of annihilating him countless times, Alex's meticulous setup ensured that it didn't harm him in the slightest.

The radiant energy broke apart into a viscous, liquid-like form. Part of it flowed through Feng Xingtong's meridians, shielding him from its immense power. The other part took control of his body, moving with precise purpose.

To the onlookers, Feng Xingtong's body froze briefly before undergoing a dramatic transformation.

His previously cheerful and lively demeanor was replaced by an imposing and sharp aura. His energy surged exponentially, increasing hundreds or even thousands of times over.

When his energy finally stabilized, the sheer force radiating from him caused Wang Bing and the surrounding spectators to tremble uncontrollably, unable to move.

Feng Xingtong made a small gesture, and the soul, now resembling a harmless snake, was effortlessly pulled toward him and tossed out of the arena.

Rather than being upset, the soul appeared relieved.

As a spirit over a thousand years old, his heightened perception allowed him to sense Feng Xingtong's current terrifying power.

At that moment, Feng Xingtong was undoubtedly the most fearsome being he had ever encountered. Even legendary figures like the legendary Zhang San feng from ancient times seemed weaker in comparison.

While the soul didn't know why Feng Xingtong had suddenly become so powerful, he had no desire to investigate.

There were only two possible explanations. The first was that Feng Xingtong had secretly been a hidden master all along, though this seemed unlikely.

The second, more plausible explanation was that Feng Xingtong was backed by an unimaginably powerful entity. Just a fragment of that entity's influence, planted within Feng Xingtong, was enough to make him unrivaled.

The soul strongly suspected the latter and even had a likely suspect: the recently returned Immortal Lord, Alex.

This level of manipulation was beyond even the old Taoist Master. Only an immortal being like Alex could achieve such a feat so effortlessly.

---

Within the arena, Feng Xingtong unleashed an overwhelming pressure, forcing everyone present to the ground, unable to move.

Even the Ten Elders, except for the old Taoist Master, were crushed under the weight of his aura, lying prone on the ground in disgrace.

As for Feng Xingtong's opponent, Wang Bing, his condition was even worse. The pressure alone inflicted severe injuries, leaving him bleeding from all seven orifices, with some of his internal organs ruptured.

Wang Bing's injuries were so critical that, without immediate medical attention, he would surely die.

But with even the Ten Elders immobilized under Feng Xingtong's pressure, only the old Taoist Master could intervene to save him. n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

However, the old Taoist Master keenly understood that all of this was Alex's doing.

Knowing this, how could he possibly interfere?

Wang Bing lay sprawled on the ground, most of his bones crushed under the immense pressure. His pitiful state was a stark contrast to his earlier arrogance.

Terror filled his face as he looked at Feng Xingtong, who was slowly walking toward him. Struggling to speak, he gasped: "What are you doing, Feng Xingtong? Don't come any closer! I admit—"

Before he could finish the word "defeat," the pressure intensified, silencing him completely.

Meanwhile, in the spectator seats, Wang Ai, seeing his beloved grandson in danger, desperately struggled to rise. He turned to the unfazed Taoist Master and shouted:

"Taoist Master! What are you doing? Step in already!"

The Taoist Master, however, refused without hesitation: "Wang Bing hasn't surrendered yet. The match continues."

Wang Ai was furious: "If something happens to my grandson, the Wang family will rain fury upon Mount Longhu! Can you bear the consequences?"

The Taoist Master sneered, glancing at him dismissively. His contempt was plain, needing no words to clarify. His expression all but declared:

"The Wang family? What a joke."

As it stood, the Taoist Master alone possessed the strength to annihilate stars. And as for Alex, who now controlled Feng Xingtong, even a mere fraction of his power could destroy the universe.

Why would such beings ever concern themselves with the likes of the Wang family? They hadn't before, and they certainly wouldn't now.

---

Under Alex's control, Feng Xingtong stopped before Wang Bing, towering over him as he watched his feeble attempts to struggle.

In Alex's previous life, he had always detested Wang Bing. And now, even before Alex had taken action against the Wang family, they had the audacity to come after him.

Initially, Alex had no intention of crushing insignificant pests like Wang Bing. But when such pests jump in front of you repeatedly, what choice do you have but to squash them?

Alex didn't waste words on Wang Bing. To him, someone as insignificant as Wang Bing wasn't worth the effort.

When Alex realized that Wang Bing's injuries were so severe he would die without immediate treatment, he generously healed him. Then, Alex's faint presence within Feng Xingtong's body dissipated.

When Feng Xingtong regained control of himself, he was horrified to find Wang Bing alive, but reduced to a grotesque state. His face went pale as he stumbled backward.

From the lingering information Alex left in his mind, Feng Xingtong learned that Wang Bing could now live for another hundred years. During that time, no matter how grievous the injury, his body would instantly heal.

However, even this miraculous healing couldn't restore what had been lost. Not even the legendary Shuang Quan Shou technique could regrow his shattered limbs.

Wang Bing was finished—permanently crippled.

As soon as the oppressive aura disappeared, Wang Ai leaped down from the high platform, charging straight at Feng Xingtong. His aura was filled with brutal violence and naked killing intent, clearly intent on murdering Feng Xingtong to avenge his grandson.

Caught off guard, none of the other Ten Elders had time to react to his sudden outburst—except the Taoist Master. However, just as the Master was about to intervene, he seemed to sense something. A faint smile appeared on his face, and he calmly sat back down.

Just as Wang Ai was about to strike Feng Xingtong, the oppressive aura returned, even stronger than before. It slammed into Wang Ai like a towering mountain, pinning him to the ground.

By pure coincidence—or perhaps not—Wang Ai's fall left him kneeling directly before Feng Xingtong. The sight was stark: a centenarian elder kneeling before a young man, with his maimed grandson's mangled body lying just behind him, groaning in agony.

The scene was so absurd that someone in the audience couldn't help but burst into laughter. Their laughter spread quickly, and soon the entire spectator area was filled with unrestrained laughter.

The Wang family, it seemed, was destined to become infamous after this match.

However, the laughter abruptly stopped, as though someone had gripped their throats. They stared in stunned silence as Feng Xingtong casually lifted his foot and placed it directly on Wang Ai's head.

If Wang Ai's kneeling could have been passed off as an accident, this act was nothing short of deliberate humiliation.

The crowd felt a chill run down their spines. Feng Xingtong's power was a mystery, but it was clear that he now had the strength to dominate even a member of the Ten Elders. Unlike Feng Xingtong, the spectators were mostly ordinary outcasts or weaker families; even those with connections wouldn't dare provoke the mighty Wang family. Laughing further could easily bring doom upon them.

As Wang Ai knelt in humiliation under Feng Xingtong's foot, his heart was consumed with rage, his logic drowning in a sea of anger. If he had the chance, he would have lunged at Feng Xingtong again, desperate to kill him.

But whatever method Feng Xingtong—or rather, Alex—was using kept Wang Ai firmly immobilized, unable to resist or act. He could only endure the humiliation.

When Wang Ai's fury reached its peak, he suddenly heard Feng Xingtong speak in a voice so soft that only he could hear:

"Old fool, I hear you were planning to come after me? No need. I'll grant your wish. After the tournament , I'll pay a visit to the Wang family myself. Be ready—I expect you to put up a good fight."

Wang Ai's pupils contracted sharply. As a seasoned schemer, he immediately realized that the one humiliating him wasn't Feng Xingtong at all—it was the legendary Alex, the Great Love Immortal.

Setting aside his confusion about how his plans had been exposed, Wang Ai, blinded by rage, gritted his teeth and snarled:

"Alex! Do you truly believe yourself to be an invincible immortal, unmatched in this world?"

Facing Wang Ai's angry question, Alex responded indifferently:

"Why not?"

Without further explanation, he raised his foot and kicked Wang Ai with overwhelming force, sending him flying across the arena. The kick inflicted serious injuries, ensuring Wang Ai could no longer pose a threat to Feng Xingtong. However, Alex deliberately held back enough to leave Wang Ai alive—he intended to save him as a source of amusement for the future.

After this, the sliver of energy Alex had left within Feng Xingtong's body finally dissipated completely.

---

The unexpected events from the day before sent shockwaves through the world. Major factions now realized that a new era was dawning in the realm of outcasts, or more aptly now, cultivators.

The tensions between the Taoist Hall and the Wang family were escalating rapidly, and now a mysterious force backing Feng Xingtong was also entering the fray.

Despite this brewing storm, the conflict remained largely an internal matter between the Taoist Hall and the Wang family. As such, other factions stayed uninvolved, their territories calm and unaffected. The Tournament continued as planned.

However, one noticeable change stood out—Wang Ai, one of the Ten Elders, was no longer present at the judges' panel.

His absence, much like the removal of an appendix, went entirely unnoticed. The competition carried on without a hitch, organized and seamless as ever.

The first match of the day featured Zhang Chulan squaring off against Feng Baobao. Given Feng Baobao's previous statement about her mission being to assist Zhang Chulan by eliminating his obstacles, this particular match drew significant attention from spectators...
