Xu Binchen's face was as dark as the bottom of the pot. Just by receiving Doctor Chun's call, he already had a faint premonition and within two seconds of the call, his doubt was thoroughly dispersed. "Fainted again? Is it another coma? No?" He frowned deeply. "What's wrong this time?"

One bitten twice shy. The times when Shi Nian would suddenly faint had turned into a kind of periodic occurrence to Xu Bicnhen just like drinking medicine. He didn't panic as much as back then. "Okay, I will go to the hospital now." He hung up the call.

Beside him, Wang Chengbing didn't even look up from his laptop screen. "What's the matter with Shi Nian?"

"I don't know. I will go first." He patted the fatty's shoulder. "Do your job well."

Wang Chengbing wanted to cry but had no tears. "I have almost become an entertainment paparazzi! At least I will get remuneration if it becomes a hot topic, it's better than being a police officer!"

Xu Binchen opened the car door, leaving him a curt and heartless sentence. "Then resign."

Wang Chengbing almost threw his laptop off, but Xu Binchen had already walked toward the hospital. The elevator dinged open and inside was a man in suit, carrying a briefcase with gold rimmed glasses adorning his face. Their eyes met in a split second and the man offered a faint smile which Xu Binchen replied with a nod.

They passed by each other and Xu Binchen pressed on the fifth floor. The elevator door slowly closed but within the gaps of mere inches, the man turned around. Xu Binchen hadn't gotten the chance to digest it when the man disappeared from his sight, replaced with his blurry reflection.

He knitted and looked up at the ascending floor numbers.

Just now…the man came down from the fifth floor as well?

The elevator dinged and Xu Binchen walked out, his face dark as he found Doctor Chun in front of Shi Nian's room together with another youth with his right arm slung in front of his chest. "What happened?" he asked with a domineering voice.

"Ah, Detective Xu, you're here..." Doctor Chun's wrinkly forehead knitted deeply.

The youth turned around and when he saw Xu Binchen, his pupils dilated in shock.

Xu Binchen looked at the young man whose height was comparable to his and asked, "Who are you?"

"You—you—" The youth was shocked out of his wits. His face alternated between red and white. Then, he cried out abruptly. "Emergency rescue gege!"

Xu Binchen: "…"

Doctor Chun: "...pft."

Xu Binchen was in a bad mood to begin with and now with the youth's call, he scowled as if the youth's father owed him one million dollars. "What did you say?"

The youth turned excited, his rainbow hair flying around. "You're the emergency rescue gege right? I am right, am I not?! Well, you're really famous in Weib8 but I didn't expect to meet you here! Wait—" He paused and gasped dramatically. "The girl in the video…is it Shi Nian?!"

Xu Binchen instantly squeezed his face with one palm. "Shut your mouth." He gritted his teeth, his breath scorching fire. He turned to Doctor Chun and asked. "Who the hell is this?!"

Doctor Chun cleared his throat. "He's Nan Xukun, a new patient on this floor. Well, let me remind you that his father, Nan Cheng, had entered each of his body parts in accident insurance. Each of his arms costs five million and his face…ten million."

Xu Binchen's hold instantly loosened and he took three steps backward, his eyes which looked at Nan Xukun was as if he was looking at an exotic animal.

Nan Xukun: "…" QAQ gege…

His sharp eyes scrutinized Nan Xukun's face. After confirming that there's no injury there, he nodded briefly and took out his police badge. "My name is Xu Binchen. I—"

"You're a police officer?!"

"Yes I am." Xu Binchen exerted all of his patience and took a deep breath. "Now may I ask what happened to Shi Nian?"

"This time, her condition has greatly improved. She just fainted from shock and will wake up anytime soon." Doctor Chun gestured for Nan Xukun. "Young Master Nan was with Shi Nian when she fainted. You may ask him questions."

Nan Xukun fidgeted and laughed nervously. "This is the first time that I face a detective, it's so cool…" He needed ten minutes to describe the event which took place in less than two minutes. His movement exaggerated and his expression could be animated into memes. With his rainbow hair curling around, he looked like a big puppy that barked for attention.

"So," Xu Binchen frowned deeply. "You took a call and then she fainted?"

"Yes, yes! I really don't know what happened!"

"May I ask for your phone?"

Nan Xukun gave it to him readily. Xu Binchen reached out to receive it, then paused. "Your phone doesn't have any assurance, right?"

The youth giggled, amused. "Don't worry. It's new. My phone was in my pocket when I did bungee jumping, then somehow, the safety straps broke and it fell down from my pocket to the cliff below." Thinking about that, he still had lingering fear. He patted his chest. "Fortunately I was smart to hang on a tree, if not maybe my little life would have been gone by now." Then he lifted his eyes and looked at Xu Binchen with shining eyes.

The corner of Xu Binchen's lips twitched. "…good job."

Nan Xukun beamed brightly, even every strand of his hair exuded happiness of being praised by a police officer.

Xu Binchen received the phone and told him, "I may need this for quite a while."

"Don't worry, don't worry." He waved his hands. "I have more spare phones. This one is only for my dad's call. But speaking of it…why did you care so much about Shi Nian's condition? What happened to her—"

Before Nan Xukun could finish his words, the door by his side slammed open and Shi Nian rushed out with a bloodless face with sweat trickling down her forehead. Her eyes darted around in panic.

Xu Binchen took a step toward her. "What—"

As Shi Nian caught sight of Xu Binchen, she instantly shot forward like an artillery shell and hugged him tightly! Her arms tightened around his waist. Xu Binchen froze, so did Nan Xukun and Doctor Chun.

Xu Binchen didn't know where to put his hands. He looked down at the top of her head with knitted brows then slowly, awkwardly, put his arms around her shoulder and patted her back. "What's wrong?" Maybe he himself didn't realize how gentle he sounded.

Shi Nian buried her face into his chest and only then did Xu Binchen realize that her whole body was trembling.
