Chapter 92: Gate
Chapter 92: Gate
It was a peaceful day in Seoul which wasn't experiencing any changes or emergencies because the Ah-Jin guild cleared dungeons at a fast speed to ensure that the people are safe and no damage is done to the lives of the common people.
Gwanghwamun Square, Seoul.
The lively streets filled with people and a clear blue sky hung above the people who were commuting to work and students going to school in a merry mood as they talked to their friends.
An average-looking man with black hair wearing a suit crossed the road as he was reading something on his phone.
[The World is having difficulty with the sudden increase in the number of gates with many dungeon breaks happening to cause damage to life and property of common citizens, many cities have been put on high alert as the world is in a state of chaos that may rival the time when the gates first appeared.]
The man looked at the pictures in the article that showed the damage done to the other cities as he scrolled further and got more surprised the more he saw but when he saw that Korea wasn't mentioned in the list he wasn't that surprised.
"Man I don't know what would've happened if Ah-jin guild wasn't In Korea," The man said as he walked down the side path towards his company. And he suddenly remembered something.
"Damn I should worry about my own job, my contract with the company is ending soon." The man sighed as he walked towards his company with heavy steps.
But then a huge shadow appeared above him and the streets darkened.
"There wasn't any news about rain to…day" The man said as he looked up and his words trailed off.
THUD*
The phone in his hands slipped and fell to the ground his mouth gaped open as he looked at the sky in horror.
It wasn't only him everyone on the street was the same as they looked at the gigantic gate hanging in the sky covering the whole Gwanghwamun area.
The lively chatter disappeared as the area was covered in eerie silence. With cars stopping in the middle of the road, It was the complete opposite from a minute ago.
Everyone looked at the gate as they didn't even dare to breathe heavily and the look of sheer horror on their face as they stared at the colossal gate that covered the once bright sky painting it in deep ominous purple color.
The gate was deep purple in color with lightning crackling every now and many people fell on the ground as their legs gave out from the wave of mana that came out of the gate. Like the breath of a bellowing beast that is sleeping but is about to wake up soon.
Then Everyone saw a black shadow racing across the sky and stopping in front of the gate when it stopped people were able to see it clearly.
"A…..Dragon?" The man muttered as he looked at the dragon that was dark purple in color and levitated in front of the gate.
It has been 5 hours since the gigantic gate appeared over the skies of Seoul and the panic is already starting to spread all over the country.
...…..
"So you can't enter the Gate?" Haru asked as he drank a cup of tea while sitting on the chair in the meeting room with Queresha standing behind him dressed in a black business suit with her hair in a bun with braids securing it.
"It is not that I am being blocked off by a wall, it is like that barrier is made to keep hunters from entering," Jin-woo said as he drank a cup of tea as well with Jin-ho standing behind him.
"This is really an unprecedented situation a gate that big has appeared in the skies of Seoul and we can't even raid it, although the tea is really good," Gun-hee said as Jin-Chul smiled wryly behind him.
"Well, Queresha is really good at tea making," Haru said with a smug smile.
"That isn't something to be talking about at the moment, but can I have another cup," Jin-woo said as Queresha nodded and refilled his cup.
'What is going on here? Weren't we here to discuss about the biggest gate that has opened in the history of Mankind? Why does this look like a tea party?' Jin-Chul and Jin-ho thought as their eyebrows twitched.
"So our only option is to wait for the gate to open on its own?" Gun-hee said as he looked at Jin-woo.
"That will be the case so it is best to let the people in that area to evacuate as soon as possible," Jin-woo said as he looked at Haru.
"That is the logical decision so Jin-woo will help with the evacuation with his shadow soldiers and we should notify the other guilds as well," Haru said and Jin-woo didn't have any problem with it, as more time can be saved this way they have a week and the number of people in Gwanghwamun and the areas surrounding it are a lot as the gate is 3.4 km in diameter it starts from Gyeongbokgung palace and ends at Namsan national park making it the biggest Gate to open in history.
"That would be helpful, Thank you, Hunter Sung," Gun-hee said and Jin-woo waved his hand. They knew that if this task was left to the hunters they would've been overwhelmed.
"So what do you guys think about the disappearance of New Gates in Seoul?" Gun-hee asked suddenly as there has been no gate in Seoul after this one appeared contrary to how they were popping like cabbages before.
"Yes about that, Queresha," Haru said as he motioned to Queresha who nodded and placed the document in front of Gun-hee and Jin-woo.
Both read the document and Gun-hee was shocked about this.
"So it is true, there have been no gates all over the world after the one in Seoul." Gun-hee's eyebrows tensed as he read the next page.
"Oh my god is this true," Gun-hee looked up at Haru who nodded.
"This has been happening for some time now a huge amount of mana has been circulating above the different cities across the world so there might be more of such gates across the world," Haru said causing Gun-hee to pinch the bridge of his nose as he thought of more gates like that popping up simultaneously all over the world.
"This is really something, is this going to be like the last time when a lot of gates appeared together," Jin-woo spoke as Haru nodded.
"Let's finish the evacuation of the areas around the gate and we will send this data to other countries after a day of observation. We can't prove it as it has only been 5 hours since the phenomenon." Gun-hee said as he placed the data on the table and Haru nodded which marked the end of the meeting.
Everyone left the meeting room in a hurry because they had many things to do because of the new gate that has appeared.
...…
"So what is the true reason the gates are appearing suddenly?" Jin-woo asked Haru who was driving a Mercedes-Benz G-Class with Jin-woo sitting in the passenger seat.
"The Dragon Monarch is going to attack," Haru said causing Jin-woo to look at him with his eyes glowing.
"Where did you hear that?" Jin-woo asked.
"The rulers told me, you remember them right. They were the ones that told me where you were when you were abducted and also helped uncle when he was stuck in the dungeon." Haru said.
"Of course, I remember do you think I suffer from memory loss or what? and don't make it sound like I was abducted like a little kid." Jin-woo hissed as he looked at Haru who shrugged at him.
"Is he going to come out this gate?" Jin-woo asked as he calmed down.
"No not this one, there will be more gates of this size in many countries he will come out of one of those I guess," Haru said and Jin-woo nodded.
"That red-haired bastard, huh," Jin-woo said as Haru chuckled.
"You sure can hold a grudge," Haru said and Jin-woo smiled as well.
"I'll fuck him up good this time," Jin-woo said as he cracked his knuckles.
"Sounds Sus to me," Haru said as he laughed and Jin-woo's lips twitched.
"I don't want to hear that from you," Jin-woo said as he smiled smugly.
"What is that supposed to mean you bastard?" and the two fought as usual with Queresha and Jin-ho sitting on the back seat looking at them and shaking their head. As they moved to the guild office where Jin-woo and Jin-ho got off the car.
"Then complete the evacuation quickly alright," Haru said as Jin-woo nodded and walked inside the guild building with Jin-ho.
"Then let's go home," Haru said to Queresha who was now sitting in the passenger seat.
"Yes My lord," Queresha said with a smile and Haru started driving towards their house.
