My Wife Longs for Divorce Every Day

Chapter 529: 529, have you fallen for another man?

Chapter 529: 529, have you fallen for another man?

As she was about to make a call, she hesitated for a bit, finally deciding to dial Mo Yaoxiong’s number.

Master Mo’s heart has always been in poor condition, and his health seemed to be degrading these past few years. Not long ago, he had been hoping for her to get pregnant quickly so she could bear him a great-grandson.

She didn’t want to deliver such a blunt blow to the old man, considering she herself found the situation too abrupt.

Mo Yaoxiong’s phone was quickly picked up. “Weiyi, what’s wrong?”

“Dad.” Mo Weiyi’s voice was hoarse. “I want a divorce.”

She looked at the man lying in the hospital bed, his pallid face staring back at her. It was unclear which of her words had struck a nerve with him, but his thin lips suddenly curved into a cold smile.

Mo Weiyi promptly turned her back to him, not wanting the man to see her face.

On the other end of the line, Mo Yaoxiong was clearly taken aback. “What?”

His voice escalated in volume, carrying disbelief. “Weiyi! What on earth are you saying!”

“I said, I want a divorce.” Mo Weiyi spoke once more, her words deliberate and serious. “We’ve already discussed this, so…”

“Nonsense!” Mo Yaoxiong yelled out. “Do you understand what you’re saying? Marriage is not a child’s game! Hand the phone to Yebai, I want to know what’s going on.”

“There’s no need to ask him, we’ve already decided together.”

“Hand him the phone!”

“I just called to tell you, everything’s okay.” Mo Weiyi finished her sentence and hung up immediately.

After gathering herself, she turned around again to look at the man lying in bed. “I’ve said my piece.”

The man sitting on the hospital bed met her eyes. “I told you to call Grandpa.”

Mo Weiyi touched her lips. “My grandpa isn’t well. This situation is too abrupt, I don’t want to scare him.”

She believed her explanation to be quite reasonable.

Who would have known that the man’s mockery would become even more apparent at her words. “Is that so?”

Mo Weiyi held her breath, about to respond, when a ringtone echoed through the room.

It was Xiao Yebai’s phone.

The man glanced at the call display, his initial tone of mockery instantly turned cold. “Hand me the phone.”

Mo Weiyi made a grimace, “Can’t you reach it yourself?”

Being kind enough to bring him water was already a stretch!

Xiao Yebai looked at her calmly, “I am unwell.”

Mo Weiyi: “…”

Despite her annoyance, she walked over to hand him the phone. When she picked it up, she noticed the caller ID display.

Frowning slightly, she handed him the phone and then stood still, listening attentively.

Xiao Yebai answered the call. “Dad.”

“…”

His handsome face didn’t reveal any emotion. Whatever Mo Yaoxiong was saying on the other end, he responded, “I’m in the hospital, Weiyi is here with me.”

“…”

“I’m feeling a bit unwell.”

“…”

“Yes, she wants to divorce.”

Upon hearing these words, Mo Weiyi almost failed to control her twitching expression.

Damn it.

This damn man!

What does he mean by… it’s her wanting a divorce?

Although he wasn’t entirely wrong, but still…

Xiao Yebai glanced at her casually with partially lifted eyelids, pushing the phone toward her. “My dad wants to talk to you.”

Mo Weiyi wondered what else there could possibly be to say.

As she didn’t take the phone, Xiao Yebai put it back on the nightstand.

As if it were an exhausting chore to keep holding it.

Mo Weiyi stole a glance at it.

The call was still active.

She could vaguely hear Mo Yaoxiong’s voice…

After a while, she gave in and picked up the phone. “Dad.”

Mo Yaoxiong asked on the other end, “Weiyi, have you fallen for another man?”

Mo Weiyi was speechless: “…”

“Who is he? What’s his name? Weiyi, answer me!” Mo Yaoxiong continued to probe.

“There isn’t.” MO Weiyi replied impatiently, while shooting a glare at the man on the bed.

Mo Yaoxiong seemed to breathe a sigh of relief. “That’s good to hear. Weiyi, Yebai is relatively cold in disposition, but he has you in his heart. Over the years, he has done a lot for the company, for the Mo family. As his wife, you should understand him. Unless it’s an issue of fundamental principles, don’t casually bring up the topic of divorce.”

“I didn’t bring it up casually.” Mo Weiyi’s voice was cold. “I genuinely want a divorce.”

On the bed, the man narrowed his eyes, his gaze growing colder.

“Tell me the room number, I’m on my way right now.” Mo Yaoxiong was roaring with anger.

Mo Weiyi relayed the room number and added, “While you’re at it, send a couple of servants over.”

After hanging up, she placed the phone back. “Now that everything is settled, I’m leaving.”

“To where?”

Mo Weiyi casually ran her fingers through her fluffy hair, acting nonchalant. “We’re getting divorced, why do you care where I go?”

“You still haven’t answered my question from earlier.”

“What question?” Mo Weiyi was slightly impatient.

“Why didn’t you call Grandpa?”

“Didn’t we already go through this? I said my grandpa isn’t in good health, he can’t take sudden shocks.”

“Liar.”

Mo Weiyi stared at him, unable to hold back her sarcasm. “Or what? Are you afraid that Grandpa, once informed, would force you into submission again? Or perhaps punish you? Can you please stop flattering yourself? I’ve already said it, I had thought this through before deciding to divorce. I have also considered all the possible consequences after the divorce.”

As expected, Xiao Yebai’s handsome silhouette turned icy cold. His deep eyes narrowed, his jawline taut. Beneath it was a visible layer of anger, or perhaps… hostility?

Mo Weiyi watched him askance, feeling an odd sense of satisfaction welling up inside of her.
