Natural Disaster: I Started By Hoarding Tens Of Billions Of Supplies

Chapter 262: Supporting Member

Chapter 262: Supporting Member

Looking at Long Yu's frowning face, Yao Ran knew what he was thinking and said, "I think ability users might be appearing earlier than we expected."

Long Yu looked at her, and she added, "In my previous life, I gained my wood element ability after almost dying because of the mutant tree. But maybe, before I gained my ability, some ability users had already appeared. They might have hidden their abilities and only came out when the government announced the first known ability user."

Long Yu listened thoughtfully and said, "Or-those ability users were captured by The Ark and used as experimental subjects."

Yao Ran pondered his words and nodded, "I think you are right. Most people would take advantage of their abilities to build their forces. For the government to have only discovered the first ability users three years later, The Ark must have been doing something behind the scenes."

Long Yu looked at Han Yixue for a moment and asked, "Since he has shown you his ability, what does he want?"

"He wants to join our team, and I agreed. His ability is too rare and useful to miss." Yao Ran answered.

Long Yu smiled, gently rubbed her cheek, and said, "Well done."

Yao Ran smiled back at him, then said, "Dinner is ready. We should eat first."

"Mhm."

After she served a portion for Long Yu and herself, Yao Ran looked at her friends and announced, "Dinner is ready. Everyone, come and get your share."

When the others heard this, they put down their work and walked over to the bonfire. Yao Ran took out a folding low table and placed the food on it so everyone could help themselves. After everyone had taken their portions, Han Yixue led his family members to get their food.

When Old Han saw that Yao Ran and the others didn't say anything, he asked, "Yixue, have you really joined Miss Yao's team?"

Han Yixue nodded, "Yes, Father."

Old Han had been doubtful of his second son's words when he told him this news. But now, as he sat down with a tray of hot food before him, he finally realized they had indeed joined Yao Ran's team.

With tears in his eyes, he looked at his second son and asked, "Yixue, what did you promise Miss Yao for her to agree to let us join her team?"

Han Yixue, busy eating, quickly swallowed the delicious cold noodles and said, "I will work for her, and she will provide protection and food for us."

Noticing the worry in his father's eyes, Han Yixue added, "Don't worry, Father. I'm just a supporting member, and I won't do anything dangerous."

Old Han looked at his second son for a while before saying, "It's good as long as you are safe."

That night, the Han family had their first full meal in seven months since the end of the world began. Seeing that they had no tents, Long Yu let the Han siblings get two more tents from the truck and set them up for their family to sleep.

After dinner, Long Yu divided them into teams of two and took turns guarding the area while the others slept.

The next day, Yao Ran woke up just before sunrise. She stared at the tent ceiling in a daze for a few seconds before remembering where she was.

Feeling sticky, she decided to take a quick shower in her space before anyone else woke up. Afterward, she put on a black T-shirt and pants, then exited her space.

Fortunately, she'd bought several identical outfits beforehand, so even if she changed clothes, no one would notice-unless they got close enough to sniff her, which would probably earn them a punch from Long Yu.

Leaving the space, Yao Ran took out a thermometer to check the outside temperature. Seeing it had dropped to 58 degrees Celsius, she returned the thermometer to her space and stepped outside.

Noticing her, Long Yu approached and said, "It's not sunrise yet. You should get some more sleep."

Yao Ran shook her head. "I just checked the temperature; it dropped by another two degrees. It's already May, and the temperature might spike again when summer comes. We need to find a place and start preparing early."

Long Yu thought for a moment and replied, "I remember the extreme heat lasting at least a year. If it rises even higher this summer, we will need to reach Shan Wu Resort as soon as

possible."

Surviving in this world required constant vigilance and planning. Otherwise, they would never know how they died.

Since Long Yu and Yao Ran had the same idea, they decided to set out early.

"I will make breakfast. A Yu, can you wake the others?" Yao Ran asked.

Long Yu nodded, "Alright."

Because they needed to leave early, Yao Ran opted for a simple breakfast. She boiled diluted lake water to cook porridge, heated up the steamed buns and soy milk, and prepared some

When Jia Xiang came out of her tent, she caught a whiff of the food, and her eyes lit up. Hurrying over to the campfire, she saw Yao Ran stirring the porridge.

"Good morning, Yao Ran. What are you cooking? It smells really fragrant." Jia Xiang said as she looked at the food on the folding table.

Yao Ran smiled and said, "Good morning, Sister Jia. I'm making porridge with pork jerky, steamed buns, and soy milk for breakfast today."

Listening to her listing the dishes, Jia Xiang said gratefully, "We are lucky to have you with us. Otherwise, we can only eat compressed biscuits every day."

Yao Ran was just laughing when she heard Jia Xiang's words. As the food finished cooking, Jia Xiang helped set out bowls, cups, and chopsticks.

Five minutes later, breakfast was ready, and the others also woke up and came out from their tents. When the first ray of sunlight came out of the eastern horizon, they packed their bags and continued to Shanwu Resort.
