Chapter 232: Gaining What He Came Here For
Chapter 232: Gaining What He Came Here For
"You are a really brave player."
Bloom was standing in front of this stunning beauty while wondering how much looks could be deceiving sometimes.
If he passed by her on the street or just met her here without saying how ferocious she was, he would never expect that.
"Thanks my lady," he politely answered while inwardly grinning for his little trick to succeed.
After some time he felt she wasn't paying attention to him anymore. He had already done a lot and yet she just got used to his strength and timely helping to her and her forces.
So before the end of the tide he made sure to end it in a big way losing a level!
He intentionally got himself killed and he chose the perfect spot to create such a great impactful end. He jumped over a group of monsters he let them reach the back of her, and there he fought courageously before finally dying in their hands.
Despite losing a level there he knew it worth it, especially when he was already at level twenty-nine. He was so short to gain another level, so losing such a level wasn't too much.
After all he doubted any player in the game would be even equal to his current level now.
"Your losses are great," she sighed, "and to think that jerk was the one who threw you into such a mess"
Bloom stole a side glance towards the head of guards who was the one he previously met. His face told Bloom how much frustrated he was by this situation, and the memory of his reaction when he saw Bloom walking shoulder to shoulder with his leader was still invoking laughter to Bloom.
"It's nothing," Bloom casually said before taking out the letter, "here is the message I've to deliver to you."
""
She didn't say anything or rant anymore as she silently took the sealed letter and Bloom got a notification of his quest success, but no reward worth mentioning except for increase of reputation with the mayor of the Rendog village.
"I" Bloom paused as he didn't come all this way just for that.
"Speak up," the mayor sighed, "you did so much and you shouldn't be this hesitant anymore in front of me."
"I want to punish those evil people," Bloom said, "the dark monsters are acting rampage, but there are more threats than them the dark players."
The face of this beauty changed for a moment as her eyes told Bloom all about her doubting him. He was using the taming bow and had many pets under his control; something only dark players could have.
"I specialize at hunting down those arrogant bastards," he said before taking out his bow and added, "I took this as a loot, alongside with these daggers as well," he also took the daggers he once had from the players Dockrey sent after him inside the dungeon.
"Oh," the eyes of the beauty shone brightly before adding, "this explains everything then."
She nodded in content while her face showed how much relieved she was. Bloom knew she would accept any reason he would throw at her face, and he just gave her something not easily refutable.
"And I have to say your deeds and courageous acts are really admirable," she smiled before adding, "For me, Anna, I can't admire anyone easily."
"That's an honor," he said in respect before taking away the bow and daggers, "but I can't do everything on my own. These players They are so bold that they had some cloaks to hide their aura and started to venture inside the villages and soon will also invade the towns and even cities."
The eyes of Anna changed to show her hatred and anger. "Speak," she simply stated, "anything you want, I'll simply grant."
Bloom resisted the urge to laugh out of his excitement of his little plan's success. "I've done my research and there is something called an emergency quest where I can use it to expose those bastards."
"Indeed there's something like this," she nodded before adding with a soft sigh, "but this requires a higher level than yours."
Bloom waited patiently and didn't speak. He knew this wasn't the time to say anything and just let what he had done to talk instead for him.
"Are you sure you want to have such a quest?" she seriously said before adding, "it's not a one time quest, rather it's a permanent one. You'll be asked to jump from village to village and town to town all the time. You'll have to face many dark forces and that's just too much for anyone."
"For me I'll gladly accept that honor," Bloom calmly said before adding, "if an agent of light is needed in these dark times, then I gladly accept such a role."
"See Tondel? He is just braver and more honest than you thought."
She didn't answer him but turned to glance at the head of her guards. Bloom saw the man only nod while his face was so dark that even a direct sunlight over his face wouldn't leave a mark.
"You got what you want," she beamed with a smile before adding, "I'll issue this punitive quest over you, hopefully you'll keep amazing me."
Before she could finish her words, a system notification rang in his ears that made him smile in relief. 'Finally,' he inwardly shouted in joy, 'Gerard you just wait.'
He then opened the quest page and what he read made him didn't know if he should laugh or cry.
"System alert: Player just got Swor city punitive quest by its mayor. Does he accept?"
"I do."
"System alert: you are an agent of light. Dark times are looming ahead, and everywhere the game world is under constant threat of the dark forces. The darkness era descended, and you are the only shining knight in such a pitch black world.
A sun burns on its own to light the path for others. You are asked to start the punitive emergency call over system settlements once per week. Once issues, the entire settlement will be locked, the tickets will be rendered nonfunctional."
