Chapter 246: Winning Liza Over
Chapter 246: Winning Liza Over
"I agree on that condition," Dockrey said while his face showed how confident he was in winning this bet.
"Good," Bloom simply said before turning around, "where is my next girl? Why can't I see her around?"
"You" that fat uncle had his entire body vibrated like a giant balloon filled with water. Bloom didn't restrain his grin, and even laughed. "What? We are in a bet, and I have the right to dream of winning," he purposefully paused while winking, "winning her tonight is going to be a trophy worth celebration."
""
The uncle was about to say something when Dockrey held his arm and shook his head to silence him. "She is nearby," Dockrey said, "can we start now?"
"No bet until she is here," Bloom sneered as he didn't select her as a bet for nothing, "or will you renege on your words after losing?"
"I won't lose," Dockrey coldly said before snapping his fingers for Gerard to appear with his giant body and hear the soft words of his master.
And Bloom stood there watching him disappear.
"She is on the way," Dockrey shrugged as if he didn't care about bringing her in, "can we start our bet?"
"They can set up the machine," Bloom said, addressing the old man who didn't know why he took things this far.
But he had no option here but to nod and start arranging things. In fact he and other CEOs brought the machine with them just in case.
And Dockrey knew about this and so he decided to use it as a way to get rid of his new opponent.
But he never knew this was something that would backfire at him, just like the last time.
The two contenders watched in silence the machine getting moved and assembled. This didn't take much time before the machine was again installed properly and a team wearing white coats entered once more and started operating the machine.
"Now," Dockrey pointed to the machine, "can we start?"
"You can go ahead and start first," Bloom shrugged, "I'll wait for my trophy to arrive first."
Bloom said those words directly to the uncle, and yet he was restrained by Dockrey who only laughed and moved towards the machine, shaking off his head as he stood in front of it and extended his arm.
Bloom waited, as he knew the last time this young man screamed like a chick when he was pricked by the machine.
"Damn," and he cursed in pain before jumping a couple of times while trying his best to contain his reaction, "it never gets any better."
"It's not that bad," the old man said while gazing in mockery while Dockrey only retreated a couple of steps and turned to wait for the result of the machine.
"Very good assessment," this was the result that machine said in soft tone, "almost eighty-nine percent."
"Hahaha, I'm getting better," Dockrey was in a great mood before turning to Bloom, "now it's your turn."
And Bloom totally ignored him.
"What? Having second thoughts now?" Dockrey laughed while glancing over his uncle who started to show easy looks. "He is thinking how to run away, hahaha."
Bloom didn't speak, and his face kept the calm and unconcerned expression while Dockrey kept his mocking attitude and didn't stop throwing mean words and comments about him.
Until
"Curse you Dockrey!"
A sudden shout attracted everyone's attention while Dockrey was literally choked by the words he was saying.
And his face turned instantly pale while glancing at the explosive girl that moved in fast steps to reach him. "Who told you I'm for sale?" she shouted in extreme rage and Dockrey turned from arrogance to humbleness in no time at all.
"Baby, it's not like that," he hurriedly said before pointing to the result appearing on the screen on top of the machine, "see? My performance improved."
"Last time you were beaten by much higher performance than that!" she crossed her arms in front of her chest before adding while tapping on the floor with her heels, "what will happen if you lose?"
"I won't," he firmly said, "the one who did that to me is dead."
Bloom knew he was about to be killed but Dockrey seemed to control himself at the last minute and didn't expose himself.
"But he is his successor!"
"He isn't him," Dockrey laughed before adding, "he isn't near him. He is just nobody, and he simply thinks himself worthy to compete with me over what's rightfully mine!"
"Tsk," Liza bit her lower lip while giving him a deep glance, "this challenge is taking everything away from you," she said before turning away to glance at Bloom, "even me."
"Babe, I won't lose you, I won't lose."
"You just don't get it," she sighed before saying to Bloom, "hey, I hope you really win. I'm already off with this jerk here."
She suddenly moved and broke free from the grip of the stupefied Dockrey while she went to stand beside the old man.
"I like this girl," Bloom couldn't help but say out loud, "she is simply amazing," he laughed and she only glanced at him before turning towards the machine.
"She is here," Dockrey's face changed from showing weakness and softness to deep hatred and extreme anger, "C'mon, let's get this done. This has already taken much more than you deserve."
Bloom didn't move at once towards the machine, as he first leaned over Antoan and whispered a couple of words in his ears before the latter nodded.
And then he went to stand beside the old man, securing the big trophy of his master.
"Humph, you seem over confident in your win," Liza said while Bloom stood in front of the machine, waiting for the result to appear.
"You deserve to be fought hard to get," he simply said and her face didn't show any expression at all like a cold ice bar.
And just as he waited, Dockrey couldn't help but to send his butler, Gerard, to stand beside her while his gaze was fixed over Antoan.
"Tell your hideous Hannibal player that I'm coming after him," he whispered and Antoan only sneered back.
He never imagined that Hannipal who tricked and ruined his game profile was the man contending with his master.
Or else he wouldn't restrain himself like this and would instantly aim to fight.
"This" the old man was in his own world as he muttered after noticing the long minutes the machine took so far and yet didn't announce the results.
He glanced at the back of Bloom while muttering, "it's much similar, yet the two are totally different."
The two butlers along with Liza and Bloom nearby heard his words perfectly but none said a single word. The machine exceeded five minutes and didn't give any response.
"Is it broken or what?" Dockrey said in some worry as this brought such unpleasant memories to his mind.
"Or what" Bloom was the one to answer while his face showed a mocking glance, "are you worried? Afraid to lose?" he didn't let his opponent off the hook as he added, "or perhaps an old memory made you slightly unconfident?"
The face of Dockrey showed vicious expression while only ignoring Bloom as he turned to the old man. "Check it out or something," he shouted in nervousness.
"Sorry," the old man said in a calm tone, "we already ran many checks before taking it here."
"It might have gotten broken while being transferred here!"
"It worked completely fine with you," the old man shook his head, "there is no reason to suspect it."
""
Dockrey knew talking with the old man was hopeless so he turned his gaze towards those CEOs who were on his side, willingly or not.
And then a debate started around this, while the old man stuck to his opinion and refused anyone to touch the machine no matter who.
"Exceptional assessment," the machine's soft voice suddenly came to silence everyone and stop these useless arguments, "the assessment is over three hundred and twenty-one percent! Impressive!"
The screen showed this figure to confirm what everyone here heard. "Hahaha, you are mine" Bloom turned to Liza before pausing as he glanced over the ashen white face of Dockrey, "babe."
"Stay your hands off!" Dockrey instantly was enraged, as he shouted while waving his hand to Gerard.
But before anyone could move, a small army suddenly entered in an organized manner, Bloom's personal army.
"What's the meaning of this?" one of the CEOs on Dockrey's side shouted in rage.
"It's to maintain order," Bloom wasn't the one to speak, but Antoan, "they are here to make sure things won't get out of control, not to annoy anyone here."
The big smile on Antoan's face told everyone he wasn't giving information, but declaring a threat.
"Sorry to make you wait so long, sweet babe," Bloom totally ignored this mess and chaos while moving to put his arms, like he was initially used for that, around the waist of Liza.
And the latter only gave him a surprised look while raising her eyebrows.
"Now," Antoan's loud voice coupled with the swift sound of handling the guns professionally in the hands of this small army, "my new master is a participant in the Triflet competition, right?" he turned to the old man who instantly nodded.
"He is joining this under arms!" Dockrey shouted in rage, "I would never forget this! You should live long enough and not die early like your predecessor so I can kick your ass inside the game."
"Thanks for the trophy, generous man," Bloom didn't follow the words of Dockrey and said these in return while holding the stupefied Liza closer to him.
"Did you know I was his love?" Liza said in a low tone like she was trying to awaken this drunken youth before it's too late, "and my father is the main controller of everything EVERYTHING!"
She stressed at the last word while giving Bloom a deep gaze, waiting for his answer.
"And so what?" Bloom laughed, "he ditched you for this worthless challenge, he doesn't worth you at all. You shouldn't mourn him."
"Mou damn, you totally missed the point," she rolled up her eyes while helplessly saying these words.
"I didn't miss a thing," Bloom grinned before adding, "I just don't care about him or your father."
She glanced silently, not knowing if he was a lunatic or something.
"Miss Natalie do you accept Mr. Henry to be an official participant of the Triflet challenge?" the old man suddenly spoke, addressing Natalie who was standing nearby with an interesting look over her face.
"Of course I do," she answered with a sweet laugh, "let the best win, win me and win everything," she added while following these words with a loud laugh that rang inside the entire mansion.
