Chapter 269: Gaining More Than He Bargained
Chapter 269: Gaining More Than He Bargained
"That man I wanna kill him!"
Bloom just logged back in the game after taking a shower. Despite what happened with Liza and the questions he had in his mind he didn't bother a lot with that.
If he had something to be sure of then this game held much more secrets the deeper he delved inside it.
Yet the moment he appeared inside the hotel room once more he heard the sound of system notification alerting him about the arrival of his money.
And when he saw the number, the corner of his eyes twitched. "That stingy mayor gave me half of my share gears and materials," he clenched his fists before suddenly loosening them.
"At least I have a way to turn all those gears into money," he tried to reassure himself before the next thing happened was the system notification regarding fulfilling his part of the bargain.
"Alright, take it and give this tail to the stingy mayor," he just pressed over the tail icon before it vanished from his inventory. He was sure the system would deliver it correctly according to the contract he had with the mayor.
"Now it's time for my sweet Pandora box," he rubbed both hands before glancing again at the one million and half golden coins received from the mayor. "At least I'm lacking five hundred thousand gold coins a figure I can get without doubt."
He took the box out before starting to take one gear at a time and let it be crumbled to pieces by the box. The first gear he put was level hundred sword, something he would never use so soon or even in the near future.
"Let's see what you'll give me," he muttered before the box started to buzz and the next instant a gush of gold coins and materials came out of it to drown the entire room in a few moments.
"Damn!" he hurriedly stored what the box vomited in his face, "all these coins and materials? Sorry mayor, you aren't stingy at all but so generous!"
In fact he didn't know how the box calculated the gold coins coming out of it till now. All he knew was the material rule, as the materials exited from the box would be equal to the level of the gear and lower with each jump of ten levels at a time.
"Still coming?!" He was pleasantly surprised by the outcome of the box even after a few minutes. He kept storing coins and materials without having the time to glance at them.
"Finally it's over," after five minutes the box stopped throwing anything, "let's check what I got then."
He hurriedly opened his gold coin count. "Holy moly! I gained one hundred and fifty thousand gold coins from that gear alone!!" He was deeply shocked and touched by this relevance.
"What about the materials then?" he opened his inventory next and what he saw inside made him laugh.
"One hundred level hundred materials, and each level after will double the number or even triple," he laughed before picturing Nara's face when she heard about this.
"That Cyan studio is really lucky to have me as backing," he couldn't wipe out the smile over his face while checking the number of gears he had in his inventory.
"one hundred level hundred gears that's a fortune in itself," his eyes sparkled with greed, "that stingy mayor if he knew what I got from this deal he surely would have a heart attack."
He laughed joyfully before taking another gear out and continued to dismantle it.
"And I didn't get only these level hundred gears," he grinned while gazing upon the other gears he got with levels ranging from ninety-five down to fifty. "But that mayor he already knew my level and it seemed he purposely gave me items I couldn't use right away."
It was apparent that the mayor was pulling a dirty trick over him, yet with his pandora's box he was quite sure to flip the tables and emerge the biggest winner here.
"If my calculations are right then I will gain at least five million gold coins from these gears," he muttered while moving both hands to store all the coins and materials coming forth from the box, "plus the materials I've hit the jackpot here yeah indeed I did."
He didn't stop crushing gears until he got slightly over one million gold coins that what he initially needed.
After gazing at that astonishing figure for a couple of minutes he closed his profile page yet couldn't wipe out that big grin over his face.
"It's time to go and start building that guild," he muttered before taking one ticket and using it to move back to the Swor town.
He was now well aware that he wasn't the only player seeking after establishing the first guild in the game. Yet he was too certain to be the first to achieve that goal.
"Who can compete with me over this?" he laughed while walking like a king in the streets of the Swor town.
"Why do I have the feeling you think of the mayor as your girlfriend?"
The moment he arrived at the mayor's mansion he was welcomed with the gloomy face of Tornel. He knew he couldn't stop him from entering especially when the mayor herself left strict orders to highly treat him as a VIP guest all the time.
"I might invite her for dinner tonight," Bloom laughed as he enjoyed that helpless look over that rude guard's face.
"Watch out kid," Tornel opened the gate and cleared a path for Bloom, "life is quite tricky and today you are a king tomorrow you might be a slave."
"Humph," Bloom only harrumphed and didn't let that envious guard's words tarnish his happiest day.
When he entered the mansion he spotted Anna talking to a group of old men with some serious frown over her face. He went towards her and waved his hands but strangely she gave him a stern look while the other men around turned to glare with some kind of hate towards him.
"What happened?" he couldn't help but ask as the atmosphere here seemed a bit colder than before.
"Did you sell a piece of the dragon to another mayor?"
This question didn't come from Anna but from one of the old men around her.
"And who the hell are you?" he asked without showing any signs of weakness.
"He is my uncle," Anna said with a depressed tone, "and he is here to warn me from that mayor's actions and yours."
