Chapter 2107: Months of Progress
Months went by once more and it was nearly close to two years that Jin had governed the area. The consistent fighting against the Demons did not end and at the same time, Jin did not increase his land mass at all mainly because of the development of New Ress City.
Once occupied only the central portion of Ress had been expanded to almost 50% of its current territories. Jin had also made everyone live in New Ress City, their current capital as their new home with the exception that the towns were now made to be specialised villages or centres of work.
As such, towns that had specific purposes were renamed accordingly to fit their status such as Ress Heavy Industrials, Ress Military Automations or Ress Mage Academy, and so on and so forth.
Of course, not all were work and no play as Jin had also ensured that there was still some element of fun in order to ensure that the work life balance remained by creating a town solely to cater the theme park just as how he did it in his Dungeons and Panda dungeon supplier store.
Of course, there were jokes floating around where this slogan of work life balance had been ridiculed such as 'There's work and the remaining balance of it could only be called as life.'
Still, people understand why Jin emphasised work so much mainly due to the consistent flow of Demons right at their doorstep and also one particular external factor. There were people who were dying to come into Ress mainly because of the new tyrant that was residing in Mong's Empire.
More refugees were stranded at Ress' doorstep (or barrier step?) and Jin had decided to take them in in order to bolster manpower. Of course, he wanted to know why the Mong Empire suddenly became so aggressive out of the blue and despite the Star Foxes' constant updates, there was no set pattern to this new king's behaviour.
But all he knew was that there was a coup d'etat and the new king had offered all of the humans mixed Celestials to Ress on an open plate for him to take in. This included a proposal for collaboration with the Ress agents aka the Star Foxes in which there was an agreement to not allow Jin to interfere with Mong Empire's internal affairs.
Jin believed that there must be someone in the shadows, something similar to a high black society that controlled or contributed to the battlefield in some way or another and they knew what had happened on that fateful day. And since Ress had been offered such 'specimens', Jin took it as an olive branch and waited to see how Mong Empire changed from within.
Besides, the King of Ress had too much to even bother about the outside world since he had been rushing with all the major improvements and taking in the refugees to bolster his Rifle Mage forces to the best of his abilities.
With Jin's powers especially the Improvising Smithing skill raising to Rank A from all the improvements made to the kingdom, he was granted phantom clones of Mr Hammer where they could increase the pace of a particular huge project or even separate themselves to work on multiple projects.
Of course, if Jin did not supervise them, the hammers would work at a default pace until Jin entered into the picture and personally supervised those 'hammers'. Those phantom clones of Mr Hammer could also be influenced by external magical powers to increase its efficiency and as such, Grand Sage Mex and his disciples would come in to aid with the production of these phantom Mr Hammers.
That was also why they were able to move at a faster pace. However, things got even simpler when the automated war factory started to create magical scrolls with limited knowledge transfers and that enabled Jin's citizens to understand how things work.
This was incredibly useful when the workers were aiding to build the railroad transport systems that now became the backbone of the New Ress City as well as connecting to all the various towns and the military outposts that had been revamped from such towns.
Walls and military defences of varying degrees were also built, making Ress similar to a bigger version of Demopolis where there were layers over layers of walls to ensure that they had enough anti air and anti ground defences to survive the onslaught.
Naturally, Jin knew that the ultimatum would still come from the skies and that was why he had been building the Rifle Mages to not just control the battlefield from the sky against the demons but also manage the battlefield in the future against the Celestials.
But that does not mean that the ground was empty. With all the various dungeon portals now being opened after Jin's skill had improved, the materials pouring in were vast and the Pandarians were working overtime to help with the gathering of materials alongside the salvagers that Jin had possessed initially.
With the reproduction rate of the Pandarians increasing at an insane rate, the Pandas could consist of at least 40% of the Ress working population. Even Elder Bai who had been the Village chief of the Pandarians for the past century said that this was a miracle brought by the Bamboo God…and to some extent Jin.
They only had at most one or two Pandarians before Jin came and now each birth allowed dozens of little Pandarians to appear.
Not to mention, their pregnancy period and growth rate were abnormal as well to the point, they could not help but thank their god for this sudden explosion of Pandarians. However, even Elder Bai did not know that Jin's system was the one doing these heavenly miracles behind the scenes.
With each passing day, as Jin continued to cooperate with the Pandarians, it developed and filled up a relationship bar within the System, allowing Jin to have access to special perks that could not have happened if he did not have the System. In a way, if the Pandarians ever find out, Jin might possibly be the Bamboo God that they should be worshipping.
