Chapter 79: Freeing the Prisoners

Chapter 79: Freeing the Prisoners

Cherry listened in on the meeting between Spandam and the CP9 agents until they separated. At the end Spandam gave not one, but TWO devil fruits to the CP9 agents.

Cherry thought he must be really stupid if he thinks he can buy the loyalty of these

psychopaths, even with devil fruit. Where exactly does he think the current devil fruit users amongst them obtained their devil fruits?

'This guy is definitely plotting against the World Government. Except he's doing it in an even more incompetent manner than Crocodile is. Shame I probably won't get a hold of those devil fruit. Oh well.' Cherry thought.

Blueno happened to notice Luffy on the roof adjacent to the administration tower. He was about to go deal with him alone, but thought better of it.

'We had had a bit of trouble with just two of the Straw Hats on the train, so their captain should be even more troublesome, no?' Blueno pondered. So he set aside his pride and asked Kalifa to assist him. This earned a bit of mockery from Jabra, the CP9 agent with a ponytail, and Fu Manchu mustache and a pointed goatee.

The two ignored him and went through Blueno's air door to meet Luffy on the rooftop across the abyss below.

The other CP9 assassins chained up their prisoners in a central room to wait for the marine escort to bring them through the Gates of Justice.

This was the moment Cherry was waiting for. She quickly and quietly infiltrated the

administration tower and made her way towards where Robin, Nami, and Franky were kept.

...

On the rooftop with Luffy, Blueno and Kalifa stepped onto the rooftop through a door in the air.

"You're a devil fruit user?" Luffy asked.

"I ate the door fruit, I'm a door man." Blueno responded. "You really ought to surrender. You've invaded land owned directly by the World Government, it won't end well for you."

Luffy gave them a smile. "I don't have to hold back against you anymore, so I don't think I will."

Luffy wasted no time and went into Gear Second.

Blueno stepped forward and prepared himself to deal with whatever Luffy was doing. Kalifa raised her arms into a circular shape. A ray of light began to form and increase in intensity focusing on Luffy.

"AH HOT HOT HOT!" Luffy exclaimed, he vanished from his position and slammed into Blueno.

Blueno spewed blood from his mouth and he staggered backwards, shock on his face. He launched a few Rankyaku slashes at him, which Luffy dodged with some ease.

"Damn it! Blueno, group up with me!" Kalifa yelled, suddenly aware of how dangerous the goofy looking pirate before them is.

Blueno rushed to her side quickly, also understanding the dangerous situation. He pulled them both into an air door, closing it behind him.

Luffy remained alert, watching out for an ambush. An air door opened above and behind him, an enormous slash appeared from it, which was much stronger and faster than before.

Luffy dodged at the last moment, taking a a shallow slash across the back. He went to retaliate, but the air door closed before he could do so.

Luffy quickly darted his head around, searching for his attackers. Another air door opened right next to him, sending a massive Rankyaku towards his left side.

Luffy bent over to the right, sending his own leg left kicking underneath the Rankyaku into the air door. He found purchase on Kalifa's face, breaking her glasses and her nose.

"T-that's harassment!" Kalifa muttered in a nasally voice.

Luffy quickly clambered into the strange room hidden within the air and charged at Blueno. Blueno desperately tried to dodge his attacks, knowing his Tekkai did little to nothing against his powerful attacks, but he could only do so much before he was hit and pummeled into the ground.

Kalifa may have been the weakest long time member of the current CP9, but she was far from the dumbest. She laid down on the ground and played dead. If she was going to lose anyways, might as well avoid the beating that normally came with defeat.

Luffy left the air room and shut the door behind him.

Cherry found her way to the room where Robin, Nami, and Franky were chained up. She knocked out the guard and dragged him inside with her.

"Hey ladies, did you start the party without me?" Cherry said, dropping the unconscious marine to the ground.

""Cherry!"" Franky and Nami exclaimed in delight.

Cherry cuts through the chains binding Nami and Robin. They were pretty tough, being a sea stone and steel alloy, but succumbed in the end.

"Wait, what about me?! Aren't we friends too?!" Franky complained.

"Of course we are, Franky, buddy old pal. And since we're friends, we should naturally share our possessions with one another, right? I shared my crew's money with you to buy all that Adam wood, so you should let me have a look at the blueprints for Pluton. It's only fair." Cherry said, with a devilish smirk.

"WHAT?! I can't do that!" Franky refused adamantly.

"Oh my, I guess we weren't friends after all. And since we're not friends, I have no obligation

to help you, goodbye." Cherry feigned hurt feelings and turned to leave.

"Damn it! Nico Robin isn't the demon, it's you! I'll let you have a peek, but ONLY a peek!" Franky bargained, clearly irritated.

"Hehehe, I knew you couldn't resist being my friend, Franky." Cherry said, cutting his chains

off as well.

"Okay, lets get out of here quickly before they realize what's wrong." Cherry said.

"Before who realizes what's wrong?" A familiar creaky voice said.

""AHHH!"'" Nami and Franky squealed in fear at the creepy old man who appeared out of nowhere.

"I'm surprised you're so energetic so soon after taking my attack head on, little girl. In any case, I cannot let you take this perverted young man. If you do I'd fail the mission and wouldn't get my promised reward." He spoke straight forwardly.

"So you wouldn't object to me taking the other two?" Cherry inquired.

"No. I don't care about them." Wilson Alexander claimed.

"Well, sorry about this Franky. This guy is way too much trouble for me, so you're on your

own I'm afraid." Cherry said.

Franky didn't seem all that upset, surprisingly. "I understand. In that case I'll just... SUPER

SELF DESTRUCT!"

His hind end started to rapidly inflate.

"Well, that's unique." Wilson said, unfazed and unmoving. Cherry, Robin, and Nami put some distance between themselves and Franky.

A rumbling started within his bubble butt, before exploding and launching him through the walls of the room and onto a balcony outside the building.

"How predictable..." Wilson seemed genuinely disappointed that Franky didn't actually self destruct. He calmly followed after him through the hole in the wall.

"Well, lets go quickly before the other CP9 agents get here." Cherry ushered Robin and Nami

away towards the least populated path.

This path still contained a fair few marines, as well as a certain annoying individual.

"Nico Robin! Stop right there or I'll press this button, calling the Buster Call!" Spandam shouted when he saw them, holding up a golden Den Den Mushi.

*SLASH*

It just so happened that the hand he was holding the Den Den Mushi with was the same one he slapped Robin with. A sword light passed through it at the wrist.

The hand fell to the ground flipping in such a way that the Den Den Mushi landed button first.

*Gatcha*

"""AHHHH!"""' Spandam, Robin, and Nami yelled in unison, though for different reasons.
