One Piece: Reborn as Enel

Chapter 277: Pride, Unforeseen Circumstance and Transformation

Both Luffy and Enel were floating on clouds now.

The wheel behind Enel's back seemed to be eternally spinning at a violent pace now that IMU's figure was in sight. 

Luffy's white flames also billowed out of his hair with greater intensity. It was clear that the remnants of souls within their devil fruits had a grudge to settle with IMU.

Thankfully for them, Luffy and Enel were all for fulfilling their wish of burying IMU underneath the so-called Holy Land. 

"Strange how. when two young men went on to inherit the powers of some dead fools, they confidently go ahead and face the very god that had slayed their pitiful predecessors..." 

IMU took on a more mixed form as he spoke the first part of the sentence in a male's voice, and the second in a female's voice.

The only constant in the God's body was his deep and crushing red eyes, they exuded a mystical power that Enel couldn't even bring himself to describe.

Yet still, he and Luffy stared into those eyes defiantly.

"Don't even start pretending that you are that much stronger than those you refer to as 'dead fools'... If I remember correctly, they killed you a few times, only for fate to bail you out each time." 

Enel recounted that bit of history to IMU's face with a mocking grin on his face. 

"Really, the only reason you are here is because you were at the time, this world's most beloved child." 

The Sky King couldn't help but laugh as he looked at IMU's imposing red eyes. 

"Were? What makes you think anything has changed child?" 

The God of the Sea did not show much of a reaction to Enel's mocking words. While prideful, IMU was smart enough to not act out on emotions during such a fight. 

"The very fact that the two of us are here today, allowed us to get to this level of strength whilst the world was under your rule completely... Just think about it for a second, why don't you?" The Lightning Emperor tilted his head, his long earlobes moving to the side as well. 

"..." This time, IMU didn't grace Enel's mocking words with a response, instead he/she stepped forward.

With a seemingly casual movement, the god raised his hand, and one of his fingers grew exceedingly longer, its nail also expanding and sharpening. 

In a fraction of a second, two very small streams of pressurized water shot out of his fingers, each headed towards one of the young gods present. 

Water rushed out of the god's body, rushing towards Luffy and Enel in highly pressurised streams. 

Enel simply blinked to the side, moving much faster than those water streams without putting much effort into it. 

But to Enel's surprise, the water stream, despite being so pressurized, bent to the side and followed him whilst keeping that same pressure and power. 

'So that's what one is capable of when they have full control over water, huh?'

Enel also developed the ability to control water by ionizing the hydrogen particles within it and controlling them, similar to what he did to clouds. 

He could control water on very large scales, as shown previously, but he could not create a stream with such pressure. The control and malleability were simply not there.

Still, Enel didn't need to worry about being hit by the pressurized stream, he was still much faster than it. And then there was also Luffy... 

The Sun God's incarnation just giggled a bit when seeing the attack, with a casual wave of his hand, he grabbed both water jets.

Within that same second IMU lost control of said water, and both streams turned more into something akin to rubber strings both held firmly in Luffy's hand.

He then whipped them towards IMU, shredding his body apart in an instant due to the sheer amount of power behind his makeshift whip. 

Of course, IMU's body reformed instantly, but he still gave the Sun God a confused look.

'... He was not supposed to have grown this strong...' 

He had not foreseen the trick that the Sun God had pulled at his tomb. The time bubble was an anomaly that could not be detected from the outside, as Raftel itself was impossible for the World government to reach. 

IMU's future prediction had also not said anything about Luffy being that big of a threat.

Unfortunately, IMU didn't have too long to think about how the young Supernova had achieved his strength.

The biggest threat he had anticipated before was already right behind him.

Enel's speed was unprecedented, as the staff he held turned into a large naginata, he swung it into IMU's body as well.

Dark Blue Lightning rushed in all directions as IMU was now forced to block the blow in full force. 

It was a short clash, where lighting met a very thin and constantly revolving water screen around IMU. 

The god then gazed at Enel, and instantly the Sky King felt his power vanish for a second. At least his devil fruit power.

His Conqueror Coated Naginata still bisected the god, and Enel immediately used Moon Walk and Shave to avoid being skewered alive by a dozen thin water tendrils that came out of IMU's back. 

Enel sweated a bit. with a flick of his finger, he sent a black lightning bolt towards IMU, who just waved his hand, the long sleeve of his royal robe expanded and batted the bolt away. 

'I see... So he is unable to erase the Devil Fruit powers of God Fruits completely, but he can still suppress them...' 

Enel scowled as he felt his speed waning due to the effects of Uranus, the Ancient Weapon that IMU had merged with. 

Before IMU could keep up the momentum and attack Enel once more, he was forced to back off by Luffy's extending hand. 

The Sun God's arm stretched like mad, circling around a few times and eventually grabbing IMU by the cooler and flinging him further up, throwing him closer and closer to the stars.

As the Sea God's gaze broke from Enel, the latter felt his power returning, and he immediately acted on it.

The wheel on his back began spinning once more, his eyes sparking dangerously as he flashed right above IMU, giving the Sea God little time to react.

With a wave of his hand, the drums turned into blades, and the ring turned into a dangerous weapon of compressed plasma.

Enhanced by Enel's haki, the bladed wheel cut the Sea God in two right down the middle as it expanded in size as well, becoming so large and bright that it illuminated the world below. 

Luffy was also not to let himself fall behind.

With a smile on his face, he inflated his fist to gigantic proportions, covering it in shining yellow lightning as he used his conqueror's haki to the extreme. 

In an instant, the cutting drum disk retracted and merged with Enel's gauntlets, in an instant, metal expanded from all of the accessories and metallic objects on Enel, and they formed a gigantic glowing fist. 

IMU's eyes widened slightly as he felt both gigantic fists crush him in between them.

It all happened too quickly, the very space in between Enel and Luffy's attacks seemed to bend and distort, almost breaking under the pressure.

Enel continued to smile widely even when he felt his control over his devil fruit power slip, it had already done its job.

The two fists collided with a deafening bang. Despite being so far up into the sky, almost reaching the stars, the tremor of Enel and Luffy's combined strike was still felt through the Grand Line and the 4 Great Seas. 

The very planet itself shook slightly, resonating with the two of them as they did their best to crush IMU's very existence. 

The clash only ended when Enel's metallic fist buckled under the pressure, cracking and eventually breaking as Enel retracted most of the metal back into his gauntlets. 

Luffy also retracted his fist, his laughter and heartbeat reverberating throughout their surroundings. 

But despite his cheerful attitude, there was little reason to celebrate...

"That was interesting..." IMU reformed himself out of one of the clouds below, looking at the sky with a rather conflicted gaze.

"... Well shit. I think I understand what Raijin and the others were feeling. This thing just refuses to die gracefully." Enel shook his head as he pointed one of his palms towards IMU.

Immediately, metallic tendrils rushed out of his gauntlet and skewered everything below Enel. IMU included. 

But even then, it wasn't enough. As IMU's fluid form slipped through the cracks and reformed as soon as Enel retrieved his metal.

Even more concerning, IMU didn't seem all that impressed yet.

"You look a tad bored, huh?" Enel immediately appeared behind IMU, his hand exuding an ungodly amount of electricity as he rammed it through the Sea God's chest.

"... That won't do anything of note," IMU said as his body started morphing strangely. Enel snorted. He felt his powers slip as IMU grew an eye onto the back of his neck. 

Just before the Sky King was skewered by countless water tendrils, Luffy's hand slapped IMU away, creating a sound akin to the crack of a whip. 

"... You ants are starting to grow a bit tedious..." IMU recovered quickly once more, this time, his body started morphing, skin quickly bulging and disappearing as the Sea God took a different form. 

It looked like a blob of destruction, water moving around constantly within a gigantic body. The only sore point that stood out was those red eyes, somewhere in the middle of that blob IMU's eyes were just floating, gazing around. 

"Heh! We're just getting started!" Luffy just shrugged when seeing that transformation. his smile shining as he looked at the situation without a single glint of worry in his eye.

"Indeed... We're about finished with warming up anyway." Enel's eyes shined as well, the air around him buzzing with electricity.
