Chapter 150: [149] Ancient Prophecy
Chapter 150: [149] Ancient Prophecy
[2000 Words]
There was a dramatic and moving reunion in Elsama, floating above Sky Island, but far away from all this, some schemes were being plotted in the shadows.
[An Unknown Island in the New World.]
"The time has come for you to repay the favor you owe us, as the World Government," said a man wearing a mask that concealed his features and dressed in white clothes that covered his tall frame, his voice cold.
"Oh, CPO... Have the elders finally decided on the favor they want?"
The one responding was an old, bald man with a long, white beard. The elder was dressed in traditional Japanese clothing, and what stood out the most was the crystal orb he held in his hand.
"So, what is the request?" He didn't look at the CPO agents as he spoke; his focus remained solely on his crystal orb.
The agent didn't seem disturbed, and his partner, standing like a statue, was similarly unmoved. He replied in a cold voice:
"Who is responsible for the death of Saint Leonios Suprema?"
A short silence followed as the agent relayed the World Government's request-or rather, the request of the Five Elders, who needed to find the mastermind behind that incident to quell the wrath of House Suprema.
Although the Five Elders ruled the World Government, or so it seemed to the rest of the Celestial Dragons, the elders themselves couldn't ignore the anger of one of the saintly houses.
House Suprema had been seething with rage since the death of Saint Leonios, especially his father, who had visited the Five Elders multiple times, demanding that they do everything in their power to find and execute the criminal.
Now, CPO agents were just moments away from uncovering the truth.
"Very well. This is indeed a significant request, but remember... after this, I, the Seer of the Seas, will no longer owe you anything." The old man nodded gently, but his words clearly drew a line between the two sides.
The agent could only show utmost respect, replying, "Of course, Seer. The World Government always maintains mutual respect with the Omnicia Tribe."
The Omnicia Tribe was a secretive and nearly unknown clan in this world, known for producing in each generation a person titled "The Seer," who possessed a rare and
extraordinary ability to unveil the world's deepest secrets and answer questions no one else could resolve.
This ability passed down through generations in a mysterious manner. It wasn't a Devil Fruit power but seemed more like a divine gift; when the current Seer died, a new one was born to carry on the ability.
The tribe's members protected their Seer with utmost secrecy, aware of the value of the knowledge he held, making them a target for many powers in pursuit of truth and dominion.
However, even a unique tribe like this could not escape the ever-watchful eyes of the World Government.
Yet, despite the government's awareness of this tribe and its power, they couldn't impose their will on the Seer. His powers only worked when he was in a calm and stable state of mind, meaning any attempt to coerce or threaten him would disable his ability to see and know, making it impossible to control him.
Furthermore, the power could only be used once every ten years, making it a precious ability that the World Government would only employ in dire circumstances. They also needed to ensure that each generation's Seer felt indebted to them in some way to benefit from his capabilities.
"Let me see who had the audacity to kill a Celestial Noble..."
The old Seer muttered softly as the crystal orb in his hand began to glow with a dark, purple light.
The Seer closed his eyes, and it seemed the light from the orb had enveloped him, drawing him into a world of his own.
In this unique realm, the Seer appeared, gazing into an endless void, when suddenly, a slightly blurred image began to form in this still space.
It was an image of individuals in black cloaks, and the towering trees clearly indicated that the place in the hazy vision was the Sabaody Archipelago.
The Seer was intensely focused. The hazy image gradually sharpened, shifting from one scene to another: the scene of the Celestial Dragon's murder, then a scene where those responsible for the crime gathered in a place that appeared to be a flying ship in the sky.
"Have you seen enough?"
"!!!"
The Seer's heart jumped upon hearing this voice. He had used this divine ability multiple times, but this was the first time something like this had ever occurred.
"Wh-Who's there?!" The Seer stammered, causing the hazy vision to falter, and his fear peaked as he realized he couldn't return his consciousness to his body; he was left floating, staring into the endless void around him.
"Impertinent."
The same voice resounded again, echoing through the seemingly endless space, sending chills through the Seer's "body."
The voice was soft and delicate, as if a goddess herself were speaking, yet there was a strange strength and coldness in it that would make the bravest hearts leap.
"Vanish."
These were the last words the Seer heard before his consciousness faded into darkness, sinking into eternal slumber.
Yet, in those fleeting fractions of a second, he recalled a commandment passed down for generations among the Seers of the Omnicia Tribe.
*Splash*
*Splash*
"Where I am?" a confused woman's voice echoed as she stepped into what seemed to be a hidden village on this island.
If CPO agents were here, they would find this island strikingly similar to the one housing the Omnicia Tribe.
The only noticeable difference was the number of trees and the lower water level compared to what it would be 500 years later.
The mysterious woman entered the island, warmly greeted by the village elder.
"By the way, sir, why do people call you the Seer?"
A middle-aged man smiled at her question and replied, "Hoho, we usually don't share this
with outsiders, but you'll be an exception since you found this place, and I sense no hostility from you." He paused briefly before continuing, "I'm called the Seer because of my innate ability, which is..."
A minute later, the woman spoke in amazement, "Wow... What an incredible ability."
The man seemed pleased with her admiration and added, "Would you like to know your future? What do you say?"
A smile appeared on the woman's face, and she nodded eagerly, "Yes, please, if that's
possible!"
The Seer agreed, surprising the rest of the tribe, who couldn't understand why he treated the stranger in this way. Some even thought he might be in love with her.
"I'll begin," the Seer said, activating his gifted skill, or so he believed.
He was called the Seer because he could know everything, including people's futures.
"I see a throne... a golden throne... and I see you standing beside it..." The Seer spoke with his
eyes closed, while the woman looked confused-a throne?
But the Seer continued, his expression shocked, "Your future self is speaking... Ruler of the
Eternal Throne...?"
"!!!!!!
At that moment, the Seer's eyes snapped open, bloodshot, and he cried out in pain.
"Are you alright, sir?!" the woman asked, worried, but the Seer's words still echoed in her
mind.
After ten minutes, the Seer calmed down, his eyes cleansed by the concerned villagers.
"What a terrifying future..." he murmured with a shiver, recalling what he had seen.
"Can you explain what you saw, sir?" The woman was perplexed about her future and wanted
to understand the Seer's cryptic words.
He looked at her, nodded, then asked one of the tribe members to bring him paper and a
brush.
"W-What is this...?" The woman looked at the paper handed to her in bewilderment.
The paper held a sketch of a man who appeared to be in his twenties, handsome, with relatively long blue hair and piercing blue eyes that seemed to gaze through the cosmos!
If Ren saw this paper, he would recognize the person in the drawing as himself. "Seek out this person. He's the only way to achieve your goal. By the way, I haven't asked your name yet," said the Seer, his words enigmatic, as the woman stared at the paper in
astonishment.
The Seer's voice broke through her swirling thoughts, and she answered with a calm façade:
"I... I am Toki, Amatsuki Toki."
[Back to the Present]
*Crack~!*
The crystal orb the Seer held slipped from his hands, shattering on the ground with an
unsettling sound.
"Seer! What happened?!"
A CPO agent shouted as the Seer let out a scream filled with agony.
It was a brief scream, followed by a disturbing silence. Even the normally cold-hearted agents
were now trembling from the eerie and terrifying turn of events.
"He's... dead!"
A CPO agent informed his partner gravely, and the latter pulled out his Den Den Mushi,n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
reporting the incident.
"The tribe members are coming... Tsk, what a nuisance."
The CPO agent glanced at the approaching lights while his partner spoke with the Five Elders.
He could only sigh; this mission was supposed to be smooth, but something unexpected had happened-something they had never encountered before.
[Sky Island]
"You've really grown, my daughter~"
A gentle voice emanated from a pendant hanging around Shirahoshi's neck, who hadn't
stopped smiling for a long time.
"Teehee~ I'm still the same crybaby you know." Shirahoshi was ecstatic, chatting with her
mother once again. She had thought it was impossible after everything that happened, but a
miracle had indeed come true.
'Thank you, Ren-sama...' She glanced at the blue-haired man who seemed to be discussing something important with Nami and chose not to disturb him, as he appeared busy. "Are you sure about this, Nami?" Ren looked at the beautiful navigator seriously. "Yes, I'm 90% certain this is where the former island depicted in the treasure map you asked
me to analyze once existed."
She pointed to another map showing several drawn islands, her slender finger resting
precisely on an island marked with a red X.
Originally, Ren obtained what is called the treasure map after completing several different
missions and piecing together the three separate parts.
The words "God Valley" were what truly drew his attention to the map, though Nami had
never heard of this island before.
Undoubtedly, this was the work of the World Government.
After they wiped out the Rocks Pirates and erased the location of the battle from existence,
they also destroyed every map that bore the name of that cursed place.
Ren was genuinely impressed by the World Government's level of professionalism and
ruthlessness.
But that didn't mean he would give up on searching for traces of God Valley.
By purchasing dozens of maps and comparing the islands that appear on the treasure map, Nami managed to pinpoint an approximate location for the ruins of God Valley! "The islands that will lead us to the ruins of what you call God Valley are Sky Bloom, Mirage
Laguna, and Iron Jaw. These three islands are situated near the Demon's Range Archipelago in the New World!"
The Demon's Range Archipelago-a mysterious chain of islands-was known for its rugged
terrain and deep caves, intersected by sharp, dangerous coral reefs, making it a challenge to
reach, even for the strongest pirates. Legends said the islands were haunted by sea demons and ancient monsters, with each island hiding its own treasure, protected by ancient spells and traps that only the mightiest could survive.
But these were only rumors, and rumors are often exaggerated. According to Ren's newly-formed intelligence network and a few million berries spent, he acquired a map of the Demon's Range Archipelago. Nami concluded that the remains of God Valley, as indicated on the treasure map, were located nearby.
"Great job, Nami. It won't hurt to check it out, so our next destination is set!"
His deep voice echoed to all the girls currently in the house.
"Yes, Captain!"
Nami smiled, taking control of Elsama and setting their course toward the target.
The Demon's Range Archipelago, where the ruins of God Valley await!
