PATH OF THE STAR HUNTER

Chapter 650 - 650 Chapter 650 Each With A Destiny.

650 Chapter 650 Each With A Destiny.

Lilith’s statement produced an eternal silence in the room. Lilith’s ruby-red eyes gazed with complex emotions at the archangel, trying to decide whether or not to help.

Although Lilith couldn’t wait to fight that Oscuras again, the truth is that she was not so reckless as to go into a battle to the death without knowing anything about her opponent, not to mention that the idea of going into such a battle with Katya by her side was not something Lilith liked very much.

“I guess I could help. I can’t wait to get my hands on that bastard; besides, I really would have no idea what else to do. The lack of arcana on this planet suffocates me.” Lilith commented. Ultimately, Lilith’s desire for revenge overcame all her reasons for not getting involved in the matter.

Saying that Lilith fixed her gaze on Desmond. “It seems that your big sister has things to do, but don’t worry, little Desmond, although this planet is not suitable for me to live on, there will be opportunities in the future for us to meet again; that is something that eternity has assured us.”

Desmond just looked at Lilith in silence. The word eternity reminded the hunter of something he hadn’t thought about; his life expectancy. An unlimited lifespan, while not immortality, was still something millions would kill for; yet he obtained it as only a part of the many benefits of Lilith’s lineage.

There were many implications of an unlimited lifespan, but Desmond didn’t overthink about them. According to what he had learned, the further one went on the path of Mana, Arcana, or Aura, the longer one’s lifespan would be, up to a point. To Desmond, it didn’t make much of a difference. Since he didn’t plan on sitting on his thumbs for eternity, it was likely Desmond would never exhaust his natural lifespan as long as he kept getting stronger.

Seeing that Desmond was lost in his thought, Lilith smiled and walked over to give him a hug. The softness and warmth of Lilith’s body snapped Desmond out of his stupor. Unfortunately, the sweet scent emanating from Lilith’s body had awakened the hunter’s briefly pent-up thirst.

“Drink some; take it as some kind of parting gift.” Lilith whispered while Desmond felt his throat burn unbearably.

Unable to suppress his instincts and thirst, Desmond bit into Lilith’s neck and drank her blood. Knowing that Desmond could not take the full power of her blood, Lilith used blood magic on herself to control what Desmond drank, feeding the hunter safely and thus giving some additional benefits.

.....

Unaware of what Lilith was secretly doing for him, Desmond lost himself in the exquisite taste of Lilith’s blood, perhaps the most delicious thing he had ever tasted.

Unconsciously, Desmond clung to Lilith’s small body tightly, making their interaction seem much more intimidating than it was. However, Lilith showed no reaction; she didn’t see Desmond that way and knew that Desmond’s actions were beyond his control.

As the seconds passed, you could see that Kyuru’s countenance became quite uncomfortable; the poor fairy had difficulty experiencing emotions that weren’t right for her. On the other hand, as always, Katya had a stoic expression, but a closer look would show that her eyes were fixed on the way Desmond and Lilith hugged each other; no one knew that she was going through her head.

Though lost in the sublime pleasure that was drinking Lilith’s blood, Desmond still felt some changes as he did so. The most noticeable was the tremendous torrent of blood energy that flooded his body, purifying and strengthening his physique one step beyond its current level. The second change was more subtle. Desmond couldn’t quite place the exact nature of the change or what it implied. Still, he was almost certain it had something to do with his ability to synthesize blood gems.

After only a minute, Desmond experienced his fastest, most painless, and least troublesome breakthrough. Despite reaching the mid-level two-star class, Desmond could feel the blood power within him still boiling, this time tempering his body in a more leisurely and calm manner. Although he didn’t know how long it would take, Desmond believed that he would be able to reach the next level of the two-star class by the time his body finished absorbing the energy.

Desmond stopped drinking Lilith’s blood because his body could not contain any more energy. Parting his lips slightly from Lilith’s neck, Desmond couldn’t help but lick at the blood that was left on her skin, kissing the same spot a couple of times in the process.

“I think that’s enough, my dear little brother, or do you plan to lay hands on your big sister?” Lilith playfully interrupted Desmond, snapping him out of his trance. In addition to feeling slightly embarrassed, Desmond felt tremendous pressure from Lilith’s words. Remembering Lilith’s bad experience with Nicolai, Desmond decided not to issue a single complaint and backed down.

Patting Desmond on the head, Lilith backed up to Katya and shared a look with the archangel. “Ready to murder that son of a bitch?”

“The preparations to deal with that monster have been made; you have no reason to worry.” After saying her piece, Katya extended her hand to Lilith. Unable to see past the mask of stoicism that was Katya, Lilith sighed helplessly before taking her hand. A second later, both girls had disappeared in a flash of silver.

Desmond had mixed feelings about the whole thing, he wanted the chance to interact more with the big sister he just got, but he didn’t want to get in the way of her revenge. On the other hand, Katya was not easy to reject, which became very clear to Desmond when he saw the apocalyptic power that the archangel wielded.

“I didn’t think you should worry too much; the ties of blood, love, and destiny between the two of you are not just for show. You will meet again.”

You could see a lack of patience on Desmond’s face and a trace of exasperation when Myrilla’s voice interrupted his thoughts. Turning around, there she was, the angel of love Myrilla, comfortably seated on his sofa; she even had one of Kyuru’s honey jars in her hands.

While others might feel lucky to be able to associate with higher existences like Myrilla and Katya, Desmond felt nothing more than a headache every time he encountered both Celestials. Desmond was territorial by nature; he did not appreciate the constant intrusions of these winged beings who treated his home as their backyard.

“Before thinking such rude things about the most beautiful, talented, and beloved angel in the universe, I mean, I thought you should first ask yourself where your wives are.” Myrilla commented nonchalantly before dipping her delicate hands into the pot of honey and then licking the honey from her fingers.

Immediately, a strong killing intent filled the room. With his batteries recharged, Desmond went straight into his combat state with his activated bloodline. Seeing that her words did not create the desired effect, Myrilla stopped playing with the honey and explained. “Easy there, hunter, your wives are absolutely fine. One could even argue that they are better than when you left; they are simply not here.”

Although he knew that as a Celestial, Myrilla would not harm the girls, Desmond genuinely did not have the patience to play the angel of love games. As much as he was a pragmatist, Desmond had already grown tired of being used as a pawn by Myrilla and Katya. “Where are they?”

Noticing that the hostility in Desmond’s tone lessened very little, Myrilla blinked in surprise and gave Desmond a second look. “I suppose you really want to see them, I don’t mind taking you with them, but I’d prefer if you didn’t interfere with what they’re doing. Before you draw your own conclusions, they are just training in a place suitable for them. Someone is taking care of them secretly, so you don’t have to worry about their safety; I just don’t want you to interfere. I think those girls must go through their own difficulties without you holding their hand.”

Desmond remained silent; besides processing the words of the angel of love, Desmond was thinking about her possible motives. “You can trust her, Desmond.” Kyuru’s voice came bringing advice and comfort to Desmond.

Even though Myrilla seemed honest and Kyuru even pleaded for her, Desmond felt uneasy; he believed the Celestial was still hiding something. “What is your real goal in keeping me away from them?” Desmond questioned, unable to contain his doubt.

Dropping her adorable and cute facade, Myrilla gave Desmond a serious look and answered. “I won’t deny that I have my reasons for sending your wives to a certain place, but you can be sure that no harm will come to them; their role is secondary at best. Do you really want to know why I want you away from them? It is because, at this moment, the love I feel within you is more intense than ever, more intense and dark. I thought it would do you good to look at your girls, be proud of them, love them from afar, and let time take away that darkness you’re carrying with you.”

After what seemed like an eternity, Desmond answered. “When do we go?”

Myrilla smiled back in her adorable way, and with a snap of her fingers, a portal was created next to her. “Right now.” The angel of love paused and fixed her eyes on Kyuru. “She should come too; I can tell she’s been missing you so much.”

With a warm smile and a flushed Kyuru over his shoulder, Desmond stepped into the portal without further question. Seeing Desmond’s back enter the portal, Myrilla smiled even wider. She believed that soon there would be a little more love in the world, which lightened her previous bad mood.
