Chapter 27 Immortal, please wait, there's something to discuss
"Wushuang, why do you think the King suddenly thought of cooperating with mortal cultivators? And having us exchange these worthless stones for Spiritual Valley, it's really strange!"
"I can't fathom the King's thoughts, but since he has given us such instructions, there must be a deep meaning behind it. Stop complaining and just do as instructed! We're approaching Aolai Kingdom; let's hurry up and meet with the King's clone."
Half a day later, above the clouds of Aolai Kingdom, Sun Wushuang and Sun Tong, accompanied by more than a dozen Human Immortal Realm little demons, flew towards the capital city and descended upon a Taoist temple in the nation. This was the Heavenly Wood Taoist Temple of Aolai Kingdom, considered the national temple.
The cultivation of the Taoists there wasn't high, with the highest not even reaching the Human Immortal Realm. However, unlike other temples, the Heavenly Wood Taoist Temple possessed a large spiritual field used for cultivating various Spiritual Valley.
The Spiritual Valley, as the name implies, is grain that contains spiritual energy. Unlike the miscellaneous grains of the mortal world, consuming Spiritual Valley doesn't create impurities in the body and allows one to directly absorb the contained spiritual energy, which is very helpful for cultivation.
Sun Wukong was precisely interested in this aspect, which is why he left a clone to negotiate with the Taoist Master of the Heavenly Wood Taoist Temple. Of course, after displaying some strength and offering some benefits to the Taoist Master, he had managed to make him happily agree on the spot.
Sun Wushuang and Sun Tong were here to move the Spiritual Valley and negotiate the specifics of the transfer. They had also come to seek advice on how the management rules of the Flower-Fruit Mountain Demon Race should be set.
In this regard, the Human Race had an incomparable advantage over the Demon Clan. After all, the Three Realms were dominated by the Human Race, and the empires in the mortal world were also established by the Human Race; they excelled in these aspects.
"King!"
After arriving at the edge of the spiritual field behind the Heavenly Wood Taoist Temple and descending from the demon cloud, Sun Wushuang and Sun Tong led a group of little demons to pay respects to Sun Wukong, who was leisurely chatting and drinking tea with the Taoist Master in the pavilion by the spiritual field.
This was a clone left by the divine skill of Cloning, identical to Sun Wukong himself with almost no difference. This was the greatest advantage of divine skills over secret techniques—clones created by Cloning divine powers could exist independently from the body for an extended time.
Just this alone was enough to fill Sun Wushuang and the others with unparalleled respect.
"You've arrived," Sun Wukong raised his hand, signaling Sun Tong and the others to stand up. He smiled at the Taoist Master of Heavenly Wood, "Taoist Master, here are the believers from the Flower-Fruit Mountain Demon Cult. They will be responsible for the transfer of the Spiritual Valley in the future. The Spirit Pills that you need, this old Sun will also have them brought over regularly."
"Understood, understood, thank you, King!"
The Taoist Master of Heavenly Wood was so happy that he couldn't stop grinning. The only thing his Heavenly Wood Taoist Temple could rely on was these spiritual fields; he had nothing else noteworthy. Sun Wukong was willing to teach him spells and provide him with cultivation-aiding Spirit Pills in exchange for the Spiritual Valley. To him, this was as good as a pie falling from the sky!
Demons were usually the sort to directly resort to violence and plundering. The Taoist Master had never before encountered someone like Sun Wukong who was polite and discussed terms, and considering that all of Sun Wukong's subordinates had higher cultivation than himself, he didn't dare entertain any idea of causing trouble.
"Alright, I'll leave this matter to you. This old Sun is leaving!"
Before the sound of his words had faded, Sun Wukong's figure turned into a wisp of green smoke and disappeared. Sun Wushuang and the others all knew that this was the divine skill of Cloning being dispelled. The Taoist Master of Heavenly Wood didn't understand the intricacies behind this and was left wide-eyed, his mouth twitching with even more reverence for Sun Wukong.
In the Eastern Sea, Sun Wukong was swimming towards the Eastern Sea Dragon Palace. A streak of essence qi flew through time and space and entered his body.
"The matter with the Spiritual Valley is settled! Good, next is to have a good catch-up with the old Dragon King. My last visit was hasty, and so was my departure, without even asking him for a drink."
A smile played at the corner of his mouth as Sun Wukong changed his posture and sped towards the Eastern Sea Dragon Palace.
Within the Eastern Sea Dragon Palace, Ao Guang, the Dragon King of the Eastern Sea, was celebrating with Ao Qin, the Dragon King of the Southern Sea, Ao Shun, the Dragon King of the Northern Sea, and Ao Run, the Dragon King of the Western Sea when suddenly the shrimp soldiers and crab generals reported that Sun Wukong, the Beautiful Monkey King who had taken the Sea-Calming Divine Needle last time, had arrived again.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
Ao Guang shuddered at the news, and the Luminescent Cup in his hand fell and shattered on the ground, but he seemed oblivious to it, muttering, "Disaster! Disaster! Trouble has come to our doorstep again!"
"Big brother, it's just a demon immortal, why be so alarmed?"
Ao Run, the Dragon King of the Western Sea, was puzzled.
"You don't know, my wise brother; this Beautiful Monkey King Sun Wukong is not like any normal demon immortal. He has vast divine skills and boundless mana! Last time he came to my palace demanding weapons, and he tried all the divine weapons in my arsenal, complaining that they were all too light.
In the end, he directly took away that piece of Divine Precious Iron from the bottom of the Eastern Sea Eye in the Heavenly River. Who knows what he wants this time? But certainly, it's nothing good!"
"What a reckless monkey, to bully my aquatic race like this! Big brother, let me capture him for you and cut him into pieces to vent your anger!"
Ao Qin, the Dragon King of the Southern Sea, was the most hot-tempered. Upon hearing Ao Guang's words, he became furious at once and was ready to rush out to settle accounts with Sun Wukong.
In his haste, Ao Guang quickly held him back, and just as he was about to say something to dissuade him, he heard a light chuckle from outside the palace gate: "Who has such immense anger that they wish to chop this old Sun into pieces? Such majesty, such evil Qi!"
As his words ended, a figure flashed, and Sun Wukong had already used the Shrinking Earth into Inches technique to enter the Dragon Palace. The shrimp soldiers and crab generals didn't even have time to react, and all four Dragon Kings were taken aback, with even the fiery South Sea Dragon King Ao Qin involuntarily retracting his neck.
Sun Wukong glanced at Ao Qin, the Dragon King of the Southern Sea, raised an eyebrow, and burst into laughter, "Who did I think it was? Isn't this Ao Qin, the Dragon King of the Southern Sea? You just said you wanted to tie up this old monkey and chop me into pieces, right? Come on then, I'll stand right here, and you try to tie me up?"
"You're really going to stand still?"
Ao Qin, the Dragon King of the Southern Sea, snorted.
"Truly still! But I must say something first, if you can tie me up and chop me down, you can do whatever you want with me. But if you can't handle me, then I'll have to settle the account with you!"
Sun Wukong's face was filled with a look described as tantalizing, and Ao Guang, the Dragon King of the Eastern Sea watching at the side, inwardly shouted 'not good'. Sun Wukong dared to say such things only because he had something up his sleeve, and if Ao Qin really made a move, he would surely regret it!
Just as he was about to advise against it, Ao Qin, the Dragon King of the Southern Sea, loudly responded, "Fine! You're courting death by yourself; don't blame this king then! Behold the magical treasure!"
With a flick of his sleeve, a rope flew out from Ao Qin's sleeve and wound towards Sun Wukong, binding him tightly in an instant. This was an imitation of the Binding Immortal Rope. Although it was not as good as the genuine item, it was made from the tendons of the deep sea lesser dragons and anyone below the realm of Taiyi Golden Immortal would be utterly unable to break free once bound!
"Humph! You talked so big, this king thought you actually had some ability, but it seems you're nothing special after all! Sun Wukong, remember, you brought this upon yourself, so don't blame this king! Slice!"
Seeing the imitation Binding Immortal Rope ensnaring Sun Wukong, Ao Qin burst into a proud laugh, the longsword appeared in his hand and he swung it downwards towards Sun Wukong's head. Ao Guang, witnessing the scene, furrowed his brows, feeling that something wasn't quite right. How could Sun Wukong be so easily tied up by Ao Qin?
"Clang!"
The sound of metal clashing echoed, and sparks flew in all directions as Ao Qin's longsword struck Sun Wukong's head with great force, only to leave him completely unharmed. The reverberating shock nearly made Ao Qin drop his sword.
"This, this is impossible!"
Ao Qin's eyes widened with disbelief. His treasured sword was an Immortal Artifact, incredibly sharp and capable of scoring marks on refined iron. Yet, it cut Sun Wukong's head without any effect. How hard could this monkey's skull be?
"Swoosh swoosh swoosh!"
Ao Qin, not believing his eyes, swung his Immortal Sword towards Sun Wukong again. But Sun Wukong didn't stand there to be struck this time; he flexed his arms and violently broke free from the imitation Binding Immortal Rope. He shook his fingers a few times and effortlessly blocked all of Ao Qin's sword strikes.
"This, this..."
Ao Qin's lips trembled, barely able to speak clearly. He stumbled backward and fell to the ground, his face as white as a sheet.
"It looks like you can't bind or chop me, so don't blame this old monkey for not being polite!"
A ferocious smile crossed Sun Wukong's face, and an astonishing aura burst forth from him. The marked change was like night and day, and the tremendous aura forced even the shrimp soldiers and crab generals within the Dragon Palace to prostrate on the ground, with Ao Guang of the Eastern Sea and the other two Dragon Kings struggling to keep from falling.
"Please wait, Immortal. There's room to talk, there's room to talk!"
Ao Guang, the Dragon King of the Eastern Sea, shouted out, while Ao Run of the Western Sea and Ao Shun of the Northern Sea echoed their support.
"He just took a sword to me; are we supposed to talk this out nicely?"
Sun Wukong complained incessantly, but he paused mid-step and slightly reigned in his aura, reducing the oppressive feeling. Ao Guang immediately knew Sun Wukong was giving them a chance to apologize. He quickly approached with a big smile, "The Immortal jests, jests! How could my unworthy brother ever harm the Immortal?
Nevertheless, it was his fault for lifting a hand against the Immortal, and we are willing to compensate. We only ask for the Immortal to calm his anger!"
"Yes, yes! Whatever the Immortal desires, just ask. If it's within our power, we won't hesitate!"
Ao Run, the Dragon King of the Western Sea, and Ao Shun, the Dragon King of the Northern Sea, also joined in, offering their support. As for Ao Qin, well, he was still seated on the ground, his face deathly pale. Most of the oppressive might that Sun Wukong had just unleashed was directed at him.
Though he was revered as the Dragon King of the Southern Sea and stood at the level of a Taiyi Golden Immortal, he was usually pampered and nobody dared to confront him. He had the cultivation but not the combat power, so how could he withstand Sun Wukong's overpowering aura? At that moment, he was completely drained of strength, overwhelmed by fear.
