Chapter 18: Who was that Protagonist?
*********
However, Eclipse is a special case.
"Do you have any leads about that anomaly in Eclipse's last worldline?"
Kira could tell that her superior was diverting the topic, but she put aside those thoughts first as she finally gave her report of her findings.
"About that, the protagonist of the last worldline, Xiao Zixin, who was the second son of the Prime Minister of Northern Xia Empire.
After Eclipse's emergency deportation of that worldline, the world suddenly came to destruction but before the world collapsed, the system archive automatically got a hold of the last footage where Eclipse was ejected from that worldline."
After she finished her report, Kira open her own system interface and retrieve the footage that she saved coming from the system archive and when she got a hold of the footage, Kira activated the 3D holographic form and place on the center for the two of them to watch the last scene from that worldline.
{{After Eclipse's immediate deportation, the body he occupied suddenly collapsed and before that body could get touch on the ground, the protagonist, Xiao Zixin immediately caught the empty shell of the body that Eclipse occupied before and after that, Xiao Zixin's expression changed from delightful to panic-stricken as he held that empty body like a precious item.
"I-Immortal Master Shen…?"
Xiao Zixin's voice cracked as he called out the name of the body he was holding and now the protagonist, Xiao Zixin, held tightly on that body while his hands were now trembling.}}
While watching the footage, Red couldn't help but frown as he observed the protagonist's behavior, and he didn't know why, but he suddenly got chills down to his spine without reason.
'I don't know why, but I got a bad feeling about this…'
However, before his thoughts went further, a chuckling sound came from the footage. Both Red and Kira heard something that they wouldn't expect.
{{, "A life full of torment and suffering, even though you manage to find a place where you belong, but, in the end, it all went for a naught. You're one of a kind. Your deep resentment that accompanied you from various worldlines is the most fascinating that I couldn't imagine. Fufufu!
I won't let you escape this time,E-ze-kiel~~~",}}

I won't let you escape this time,
E-ze-kiel~~~
",}}
After that, the whole footage went blank and both Red and Kira looked at each other with conflicted expressions with one another.
"T-that's—?!"
Kira, on the other hand, knew what her superior was thinking as she nodded and clenched her fists as she spoke; "Sir! This only means that… Eclipse is truly in danger if that unknown anomaly even knew his original name!"
'This doesn't make any sense! Just who is this person? Why does it seem like this person is targeting Eclipse for no reason? This person even knows Eclipse's original name from his original world…!'
Kira snapped as she thought of something; "Sir, don't you think that… this person was also from Eclipse's original world?"
Red sighed in frustration as he ran his hands through his hair at the mention of what Kira stated, because that's what he was also thinking about just now.
'If this person was truly from Eclipse's original world, they should have detected it from the start. Something is not right…'
Without further ado, he immediately went to his own system interface and tried to connect himself with Eclipse's, however….
« ACCESS DENIED! INSUFFICIENT ENERGY TO CONNECT…. »
He slammed his hands on the table as he cursed; "D*mn it! I forgot we couldn't connect with him for a while because of this restriction! The world plot hasn't been started yet."
Kira suddenly remembered something that she forgot to ask her superior; "Then, does that mean Eclipse would need to follow the script according to his original profile?"
At that moment, Red looked at his assistant as if the person had grown two-heads and had the [are you kidding with me] expression written on his face.
"Kira, I am not that cruel to let Eclipse relive his tragic life as he already served his role a long time ago. The past was already in the past. The reason I chose to reincarnate him back to his original world is because for him to move on, or at least, tried a different route this time."
After a brief pause, he continued; "He is no longer the villainous third young master of Marquis Chevalier household of Stellarus Empire. He is Eclipse. A Platinum holder world-hopper and a successor candidate. Remember that."
Kira felt embarrassed because of her question just now and she immediately apologize for questioning her superior's motive and Red didn't pursue the matter as he thinks of another way on how to connect with Eclipse to warn him at least about this situation.
Also, there is another reason for Red to let Eclipse reincarnated back to his original world.
This is related to his soul energy restoration.
At first, there wasn't any problem with Eclipse's soul energy when he first became a world-hopper and there were no abnormalities being shown at that time.
However, as Eclipse goes with his worldline missions, Red was flabbergasted when he finally noticed some changes in his soul energy. The changes caused his soul energy to fluctuate in different wavelengths that he couldn't explain.
He doesn't remember from which worldline mission did occur about Eclipse's fluctuated soul energy since Eclipse has been a world-hopper for more than millennium years.
Eclipse wasn't aware of what's happening to his soul energy and since Red was the first one to notice, he took up the responsibility to explain what he noticed and also warned Eclipse about his current situation to remain in secrecy.
Only the two of them knew the exact details of this matter.
Kira, on the other hand, only knew a little about Eclipse's current condition.
Although he trusted Kira when it comes to her work efficiency within the department, but Red couldn't trust her about the information regarding Eclipse, as he is being cautious because of the secret reports that were sent to his personal system message box.
'I want to know about Kira's involvement in Eclipse's current situation. If she holds some confidential information regarding Eclipse then, I don't have a choice but to eliminate her first before things went wrong.'
She might have worked with him for a long time, but Red had known Eclipse first, even before the said person became a world-hopper himself.
'Since he doesn't need to follow his designated script anymore, he can now act on his own. Only in his original world that they can restore his soul energy.'
When that happens, who knows?
