Chapter 77: Chapter 77 Is He Using Teddy as Bait?
“Teddy, be good. Teddy, don’t cry.” Abigail immediately comforted the little one in her arms.
The car outside, however, did not relent and continued to ram into their vehicle.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
This time there were three consecutive hits. If the car hadn’t been modified, it would have flipped over by now.
“Second Master, are we still going to the hospital?” Pullan glared viciously at the car hitting them from the side, in a foul mood, but he didn’t forget to ask Brandon Piers for instructions.
“Yes.” The word came out from Brandon’s thin, desirable lips. Pullan suddenly accelerated.
The Range Rover dodged the car attacking them. But the three vehicles behind them closely pursued, clearly intending to finish them off.
Brandon Piers turned his head to glance at the vehicle on one side, his expression barely changing.
In the midst of Teddy’s loud cries, Abigail already forgot about the fear, focusing only on calming the little one in her arms.
Pullan seemed used to such scenes; he didn’t even furrow his brow.
The one suffering most in the car was Kelly. The window beside the front passenger seat had cracked into a web of spider lines, nearly shattering at any moment. Each impact made her shiver in terror.
Kelly had never seen such a spectacle in her life. Initially, she thought it was an ordinary car accident, but after several hits, she realized they might be under attack.
But how could anyone be openly attacking them in broad daylight? The sheer audacity shattered Kelly’s understanding of a lawful society, leaving her quivering in the passenger seat.
Meanwhile, the little one in Abigail’s arms was so frightened that he couldn’t stop crying, continuously headbutting her chest. This left Abigail both anxious and embarrassed. She helplessly glanced at Brandon Piers, whose expression hadn’t changed at all.
Brandon felt Abigail’s gaze and turned his head.
Abigail looked at the sobbing little Teddy in her arms, then at the severely trembling Kelly, and reluctantly spoke, “Should Kelly feed Teddy some milk?”
Brandon stared at Abigail, as if asking if she was sure.
Bang!
The front passenger’s window finally shattered entirely, the pieces hitting Kelly.
“Ahhh…”
Before Brandon could respond, Kelly, unable to contain her fear any longer, screamed.
Teddy, already frightened, cried even harder.
Brandon rubbed his forehead, “Make them hurry.”
“Yes.” Pullan responded, gave an order through the wireless headset, and continued to accelerate.
“Waaah waaah waaah…”
The little Teddy’s crying got worse, his small, pale face turning red.
This made Brandon slightly unsettled. He looked at Abigail, “Do you have any way to calm him down?”
Kelly was obviously not someone to count on.
Abigail watched the little one’s breathing become labored and gritted her teeth, “I’ll trick him.”
She turned around and lifted up her shirt. The little one, whose face was red from crying, kept headbutting her chest. Without the fabric in between, he finally found the harbor of safety, opening his small mouth and latching on fiercely.
Abigail’s brows knit together in pain. But fortunately, the little one, now feeding, stopped crying, sucking his food strongly, and still clutching Abigail’s collar tightly, fearing to be let go.
The car fell silent. The previous frustration among the people disappeared, leaving only the sound of Teddy sucking.
Outside, the crashing paused. Kelly was still quivering in the front seat while Pullan concentrated on driving. Brandon had always been quiet, making the sound of Teddy feeding particularly loud in the confined space.
Abigail, her back to Brandon, felt her ears turn red. Though she said she was tricking Teddy, the swallowing sounds were evident. She wondered if Brandon would believe her.
Fortunately, the silence didn’t last long. Pullan’s voice came from the driver’s seat, “Second Master, we’ve got them.”
The corners of Brandon Piers’s mouth lifted slightly. He hadn’t baited them with himself and Teddy for nothing. “Finish it.”
“Yes.”
There was a hint of excitement in Pullan’s voice.
Abigail’s arms stiffened as she held Teddy. Was this man using a child as bait?
How dare he!
