Chapter 565: Change in Battle Plan Part-2

"Lady Kushina, do you have a plan?" Shikaku asks her in surprise.

"I do have a plan. However, it's extremely hard to pull off and require preparation." Kushina answers him.

For the next half an hour, Kushina discusses her plan with the group. Kushina intentionally hides a few important details.

After the discussion, another heated discussion occurs for the next hour. All shinobi in the meeting discuss the effectiveness of Kushina's plan and other important factors to consider.

In the end, they agree with her plan, and after another half an hour; the meeting concludes with a new battle strategy.

Shikaku and others in HQ slump on the floor after the meeting. Today's war was too nerve wreaking for them. The shinobi alliance suffered huge losses and there were so many twists and turns in the battle that sapped all their energy.

"I will tally the number of dead shinobis, Shikaku-san!" The member of the logistic team takes his leave.

Shikaku's expression turn grim after listening to these words. Undoubtedly, the allied shinobi force won today's battle after wiping out the entire Edo Tensei legion and eliminating almost ninety percent of the Zetsu army.

Still, the number of deaths doesn't justify the sweet taste of victory. Shikaku and others could only bitterly shake their head and pray that the numbers of death are lower than their estimation.

The members of the intelligence and sensor division project an image of the battlefield in front of Shikaku.

Utakata snaps his fingers and hundred of water bubbles explodes like the chain reaction of a paper bomb explosion.

Mei bites her thumb and makes a series of rapid hand signs.

The water bubble explosion surrounds her and a cloud of dust and debris shrouds the entire area.

Poof

A cloud of white smoke rises from the dust and debris.

Fwoosh

A massive jellyfish jumps out of the explosion. Mei shields herself with the massive umbrella-shaped bell of the jellyfish.

A faint glow covers the giant jellyfish's body, protecting her from the corrosion of Utakata's technique.

The massive jellyfish raises its tentacles and point them toward Utakata and Oogura.

Pew pew

The water tentacles fire several high-pressured jets toward the Edo Jinchuriki duo.

Utakata swiftly dodges the attack. The water jets slice the ground and cleave the rock boulders.

Oogura shields his immobile body with Third-tails coral shells. However, the pressure from the water jets slowly destroys the protective coral around his body.

After firing several high-pressurized water jets, the giant jellyfish raises its tentacles high in the air.

Blub

A massive water ball condenses between the tentacles.

Swish swish

Mei makes a series of quick hand signs. She takes a deep breath.

"Boil Release: Corrosive Haze,"

Mei breathes out a pink mist from her mouth. The pink mist mixes with the giant water ball. The color of the water ball changes slightly.

Swoosh

The giant jellyfish throws the massive water ball toward the duo.

Bang

The water ball slams the ground and destroys several rocks and boulders in the surrounding on the impact. Corrosive liquid erodes the ground and travels forward, destroying everything along its path. The splash from the water ball covers a vast area and drowns Utakata and Oogura within it.

A giant lake of corrosive water floods the entire area. Mei and the giant jellyfish float atop the water lake, glancing at their surroundings.

Rumble Rumble

Suddenly, the ground trembles beneath them. Huge waves of water rise within the lake. A massive vortex of chakra churns from within the center of the lack.

"Attack, Kurage-san!"

The jellyfish raises its stingers and stabs them toward the giant vortex.

Ding

A loud metallic noise echoes from the vortex. Kurage's stinger hits something extremely hard. The recoil force from the attack bends Kurage's stinger.

Kurage releases a painful cry and recovers her stinger. Coral infection swiftly spreads across her stinger. The jellyfish decisively severs her stinger to prevent the infection.

Boom

Suddenly, the water of the corrosive lake splits in half.

Swish

A violet figure with six tails leaps out of the lake. The violet figure oozes an extremely alkaline liquid from its body.

Whoosh

Utakata in his violet version 2 form appears in front of the giant jellyfish. He joins his hands and six-tails together and strikes the Umbrella of the giant jellyfish.

Boom

The strike creates a massive indent on the Kurage's Umbrella. The corrosive alkali burns through the protective layer of Kurage's umbrella and targets her vital organs.

"Boil Release: Steam Rush,"

Whoosh

Mei propels herself forward using the steam. She layers her arms with the rubber-like substance using the lava release.

She clenches her fists and punches Utakata using the power generated by the Boil Release.

Bang

Her punch lands squarely on Utakata's head and sends him flying across the vast water lake.

Sizzle sizzle

White smoke rises from her fist. The powerful corrosion of Utakata's body manages to burn her hand despite all her precaution. She grits her teeth and adjusts the pH level of her hand to soothe the burn. The jellyfish spews out some liquid from one of its tentacles. The liquid heals Mei's hand.

Swoosh

Suddenly, a large clearing appears within the lake. Oogura, in his three-tail forms, opens his mouth. A large ball of blue and black chakra gathers around his mouth.

Shoom

After charging the tailed-beast ball with enough chakra, he launches it toward Mei and Kurage.

'Mei, I can't hold for long. This will be the last attack that I can shield for you.' Kurage's weak voice sounds in Mei's ears.

Kurage swiftly spread her tentacles in front of her. The tentacles release a large amount of water and generate a massive water wall in front of Mei. Mei swiftly layers her body with her rubber-like defense and crosses her arms in front of her chest.

Boom

The tailed beast ball explodes in contact with the water wall. The explosion generates a large amount of water vapors and steam upon contact.

On the other side of the battlefield,

Jiraiya frantically runs around while escaping the rain of boulders from the four-tails and five-tails.

"Damn it! These shameless fellows. They are the same as the last time."

"I need some time to prepare."

Jiraiya bites his thumb and makes a series of hand signs.

"Summoning Jutsu: Mountain Drop Jutsu,"

Jiraiya slams his palm on the ground.

Roshi flickers above his head while covered in a lava chakra cloak with four tails. He opens his mouth and spews out a lava boulder from his mouth.

Gamaken blocks the attack with his Sakazuki shield.

"Earth Release: Rock Trident Slam,"

Gamaken drags the two prongs of his Sasumata through the ground. A layer of earth covers it, turning it into a massive rock trident.

Bang

He stabs the rock trident toward Roshi. Roshi also clenches his lava-colored fist and strikes the tip of the trident.

BOOM

Gamaken's strike plunges Roshi into the ground, forming several cracks on the ground.

Shoom

Han ignores the giant toad and flickers past him to target Jiraiya. Gamaken attempts to shield bash him. However, he effortlessly dodges the attack with a boost in his speed.

"Just a bit longer." Jiraiya clicks his tongue.

His hairs turn into needles and attacks Han. However, Han ignores the attack charges toward Jiraiya like a raging steam engine.

"Damn it! How can I forget that this bastard doesn't feel any pain?" Jiraiya grits his teeth.
