Chapter 395 Chasing The Enemies
After some time, Arthur finally arrived at Vera.
He went straight to Amanda's mansion.
In the courtyard of the mansion he saw Isabel, Amanda, Jade, Rose, and several mercenaries, including both the tigers and harpies who had become much larger than their average size.
It seemed that they were waiting for him, and there was an old man tied up in chains beside them.
The old man had opened his eyes, but it was clear that he hadn't been asked anything by Isabel and the others.
Whoosh!
Arthur landed right in front of them.
"Don't tell me you flew here?" asked Isabel in amazement.
"It's faster, although it's quite tiring," Arthur replied as he wiped the sweat from his forehead.
He looked at Amanda and Rose who were also looking at him. The former looked like she wanted to come over to him, but she refrained as there were many people around.
After that, Arthur looked at the old man.
He also looked at him and showed an expression of amazement.
"Who are you?" Apparently he asked first.
Perhaps he was surprised after seeing Isabel and then seeing an other Official Magus. He had no doubt about that because Arthur could fly.
"Old man, perhaps you also know an Official Magus out there so your friends dare to talk about revenge. However, as you can see, here are two of us, are you sure to continue to conflict with us?" Arthur said.
Actually, he knew who this old man was.
His name was Asher, recorded in the information given to him by Samuel, living in the south of Europe.
He may seem like a typical old man, but he was actually much older. Even older than Samuel who was 130 years old.
His own grandson probably already has grandchildren.
According to Samuel, his family is quite prosperous although not to the point of being super-rich.
"What are you trying to say?" asked Asher after hearing Arthur's words.
"I'm not an unreasonable person, tell me how your friends will take revenge, and I will forgive you. After that, you can work for me," Arthur replied without beating around the bush.
Before Asher could say anything, he added, "Even then I can help you to break through to the next stage. I believe you have always pursued that. Not only will you become stronger, your lifespan will also become longer. In the future, you might see an entire city where all the residents are your descendants."
"Are you sure?" Surprisingly enough, Asher immediately showed an interested expression.
Perhaps he was quite pragmatic in this area and saw an opportunity in Arthur.
"You see, even my aunt became an Official Magus after only a few days of learning magic," Arthur replied while looking at Isabel.
Asher was surprised to hear that, showing an expression of disbelief.
Arthur didn't explain more, he asked, "what is your decision?"
"As long as you don't hurt or kill me, I don't mind, but I want you to make sure to defeat them or I'll be in trouble for betraying them," Asher replied.
"Don't worry!" Arthur smiled because it was so easy to make this old man submit.
Perhaps it was in his nature.
"Now tell me how your friends will take revenge?" Arthur asked.
"They should wait for Joshua's grandfather. Joshua is the young man who came with me, and he has a grandfather named Santiago, a Magus who has lived a very long time." Asher explained.
Right after that, Isabel said, "there was indeed a young man before, he was also strong, and very arrogant."
When saying that, Isabel somehow looked upset.
Even Amanda and Rose gave her strange looks as if there had been an unpleasant event.
Arthur didn't think much of it, he asked Asher again, "where are they waiting?"
"You can keep going there until you find a lake in a forest. We gathered there before, and I think they're gathering there again," Asher replied while staring at the back of Amanda's mansion.
Arthur nodded upon hearing that before looking at Isabel. "Aunt, let's go," he told her.
"Boss, what do we need to do?" Rose asked right after Arthur spoke.
"You and Amanda wait here," Arthur replied, looking at her and Amanda again.
The latter was just silent, having not spoken until now.
Whoosh!
Arthur then flew into the air.
Isabel did not immediately follow, she took a deep breath and then took a step into the air slowly.
After all, she was just breaking through, so she wasn't completely used to it even though the way of flying was already in her head, and she could connect with nature.
When she stepped into the air, she didn't fall at all.
Slowly, her body moved higher in the air.
Once she felt comfortable enough, only then did her movements increase.
Whoosh!
She followed Arthur, becoming faster with time.
Amanda and Rose continued to stare at her, unable to hide their amazed expressions because it was indeed amazing to see another woman fly.
It made them wonder when they too could fly.
"Hey, Amanda!" Rose suddenly called out to Amanda.
"What?" asked the latter with a wrinkled forehead because she felt uncomfortable when she saw Rose's smile.
"Why aren't you talking much now, unlike your usual self? I'm guessing, do you feel some kind of distance from the boss?" Rose replied with an even wider smile, changing Amanda's expression quite a lot.
"What nonsense are you saying?" she said.
"I know you're starting to feel pressured, yeah, being his subordinate like me is much more comfortable than being his lover while you can't keep up. Even if you're a rich woman, that seems less and less valuable as he gets stronger."
"You?" Amanda couldn't help but show an annoyed expression after hearing everything Rose said.
Unfortunately everything she said did strike her heart because there were too many facts there.
"Huh, you're just jealous, right?" Amanda finally snorted and sneered, unable to say more than that.
Not wanting to hear Rose's words anymore, she finally stepped into another place to wait for Arthur.
By this time, Isabel had managed to arrive beside Arthur.
Her expression showed a satisfaction that had never appeared on her face while her blonde hair fluttered in the wind. Even with the casual clothes she was wearing, she still seemed like a creature from another world.
It must be admitted that she had a very beautiful physique, and it was made perfect because she also had the aura of a successful woman, a woman who was above many people, and was respected wherever she went.
The truth is that even without her beauty, she would still stand out a lot.
"Are you feeling very well now, aunt?" asked Arthur with a faint smile.
"This is indeed the best experience of my life, this great power is nothing compared to the ability to fly. I thought only birds and insects could enjoy this," Isabel replied.
"After too many times, you also get bored, and you start to feel that strength is everything," replied Arthur.
"I think you're right, strength is still the most important thing." Isabel readily agreed with Arthur's words.
"By the way, we're going to the capital tomorrow," she added.
"What? Tomorrow?" Arthur was dumbfounded.
"Yes, and we're moving there."
"Aunt, don't tell me you're being inducted tomorrow?"
"Not tomorrow, but the day after tomorrow."
Hearing that, Arthur took a deep breath. Although he knew it was coming soon, he felt quite surprised because after all becoming a minister meant reaching one of the highest offices, only one level below the President, which was the highest position in Europe.
Perhaps if Isabel was given time, she could actually become President.
"It's just that there might be a lot of distractions," Isabel said again, then looked at Arthur.
"Did you hang Owen from the Eiffel Tower?" she asked.
If she saw the news, it wouldn't be surprising if she guessed that Arthur was behind it since she knew that he was in Paris.
To this, Arthur did not argue, he nodded lightly.
"From the information I've received, the Armstrong family is very angry right now although they seem to be keeping quiet," Isabel said in response.
"Their efforts don't amount to much," Arthur replied.
"Well, perhaps we can also show them how powerful we are now, and perhaps use that opportunity to destroy them completely. That way, there will be no more obvious threats other than those in America."
"Ohhh..." After Arthur finished speaking, he suddenly saw a lake in the forest below.
The lake wasn't very big, but it had clean water while around it was a small grass garden.
This was probably one of the best places to relax, but since it was too far away in the forest, no one knew.
Right beside the lake, Arthur saw four people around a campfire, burning fish.
Two of them were old men, one was a middle-aged man wearing a suit and tie, while the last was a young man in his 25s. He had a handsome face, tall and athletic body.
Even the clothes he wore were expensive and trendy branded clothes.
At first glance, he was no different from the average city youth.
