Chapter 420 Kelvin
"How could he be there?" said Audrey.
Raymond was also so shocked that his expression froze.
Although he guessed that Arthur might be someone with a big background, he did not expect that he could get to the palace following Isabel.
"Is he her son?" He wondered.
Audrey shook her head in response. "He should be her nephew, I with Isabel have one nephew and one daughter that she raised herself."
Other than them, Mark who was the property boss was also shocked, even his mind became a little muddled.
Now he had a conclusion to Arthur's background, but it turned out that this man was from a family of officials. He couldn't help but worry about the money he used to buy the property from him.
Not wanting to become more panicked, he finally called Linda to ask for an explanation.
"What's wrong?" Linda's voice immediately echoed in his cell phone.
"I saw Arthur on tv, he's supposed to be Mrs. Isabel's nephew, did you know that?" Mark asked her.
"Yeah, I know, why?" Linda replied.
She didn't wait for Mark to answer to know why he was calling her.
"Hahaha, you must be worried," she added.
"However, you don't have to think about it too much. That man is Amanda's boyfriend who leads Aura Company. She's probably the one who gave him the money."
Meanwhile, Isabel approached the reporters, starting to talk to them.
She told them her plans after she was sworn in and promised to work hard right away, fixing the common problems that had arisen recently.
Her intelligence is evident here. Although it was only in the past few days that she had begun to learn things at the Ministry of the Interior, she was able to explain each issue in detail, as if it was all in the back of her head.
The interview lasted fifteen minutes and Isabel managed to answer every question smoothly, much to the satisfaction of the reporters.
In the end, they let her into the palace without obstructing her.
Arthur and Carla followed behind her.
In fact, some reporters wanted to approach them, but they were blocked by members of the military.
Isabel's family members had nothing to do, and they were here as civilians. They should not be disturbed.
One of the palace officials, the Secretary of State came to greet Isabel when she arrived at the palace entrance.
The official was a man in his 50s. He was neatly dressed and seemed friendly, continuing to smile at Isabel as he invited her to enter.
"Mrs. Isabel, Mr. President is waiting for you, you need to see him first. He said he wants to talk to you," said the Secretary of State.
Isabel nodded in response as she looked around for a few moments.
She was truly the center of attention inside the palace hall.
The officials who came along with their wives could not stop staring at her until their wives pinched their waists.
Most of the women could not help but be jealous, fantasizing about them being Isabel.
When arriving at a certain area, the Secretary of State suddenly said to Arthur and Carla, "you two, please wait here!"
One naturally couldn't meet the President without a title and a clear reason, the two of them were just guests, so it was impossible for them to follow Isabel to a certain area.
Arthur and Carla nodded without saying anything, stopping their steps.
Isabel didn't have any concerns about leaving them here, she just told them to wait before resuming her steps to follow the Secretary of State.
She entered a certain room.
As soon as she disappeared, a middle-aged man with a very striking appearance suddenly approached them.
He was so handsome, there was probably no one more handsome than him there, attracting the attention of the officials' wives so that they gazed at him with favorable eyes.
"You again..." However, when she saw the man, Carla looked displeased.
If Carla knew him, Arthur guessed he was the Kelvin Ayla was referring to.
Carla's rude greeting didn't make Kelvin frown, he actually replied with a very friendly smile.
"Miss, I'm sorry if my actions made you unhappy, but I as a grown man have the right to fight for my feelings. Your mother is everything to me, so I hope you don't get angry if you don't agree," he said in a soft tone.
When he's the one saying it, it sounds like he's a gentleman who's just fighting for his love.
Carla who had seen his style before didn't react at all, she replied, "You'd better see your own limits. No matter how much you try and no matter what happens, you will never succeed. Don't think of yourself as great."
"Succeeding or failing doesn't matter in the struggle, the point is to keep fighting," Kelvin replied, looking adamant.
After that, he looked at Arthur and continued, "You must be Arthur, Isabel's nephew, right?"
"Yes, but if you want to talk about that to me, you'd better leave now," Arthur replied indifferently. He seemed even more unfriendly than Carla, contrary to Kelvin's expectations. He had originally thought that Arthur would be more open to him.
Now he wondered if he really wasn't welcome in the family.
However, he quickly banished the pessimistic thoughts from his head as he continued to believe that the struggle would only be considered a failure when he quit.
"Ehmm! By the way, are you two going to college in this city?" he asked, changing the subject.
Unfortunately, Arthur and Carla didn't answer as if they hadn't heard.
At this point, Kelvin swallowed his saliva, finally feeling embarrassed, no one is not embarrassed when ignored so blatantly.
This was enough to make him confused about what he should do.
If he left, it would seem like he was giving up.
Plus, people were now looking at him with all sorts of expressions. Some even seemed to be mocking him.
Not long after, Isabel finally left the President's place, still together with the Secretary of State.
She walked straight towards Arthur and Carla, but couldn't help but knit her brows when she saw Kelvin.
In the end, she whispered to the Secretary of State.
After that, the latter spoke through a small, secret communication device.
A moment later, some palace staff approached Kelvin.
"I'm sorry Mr. Kelvin, but there seems to be a problem with your invitation, in the meantime, you need to leave first," said one of them.
"What?" Kelvin was shocked to hear that and he also immediately realized why.
His eyes looked at Isabel who was much more beautiful than he imagined and he showed a disappointed expression.
She shooed him away, this was a more rude action than ignoring him because it was like telling him that he really didn't enter her eyes.
When the staff themselves asked him to leave, Kelvin couldn't insist on staying there or he would be forcibly evicted. That could get him into the national news, and even his business associates would cut ties with him.
In the end, he stepped out of the palace, earning more mocking stares.
"This one really knows no bounds," said an elderly businessman.
"Yeah, he'd better find a woman who's his equal," replied another.
Even if he is a billionaire, there is still a huge gap between him and Isabel.
The latter is so successful in politics that only a few top billionaires can keep up with her.
And given that she is still not very old, there are still plenty of opportunities for her to reach a much higher position.
At that point, even the top billionaires may not match her, only those who can truly influence the economy of the entire world like the leader of the Armstrong Family for example.
"Did he do something bad?" asked Isabel to Arthur and Carla as she arrived in front of them.
Carla responded by shaking her head and replied, "he just said some nonsense."
"I see! Maybe I need to teach him an unforgettable lesson later to make him stop," Isabel said.
At this moment, the Secretary of State returned to the President's room, now that he would obviously accompany him.
"Aunt, what are you guys talking about in there?" Arthur couldn't help but ask because he was a little curious.
Hearing his question Isabel shook her head while laughing softly.
"Just talking some nonsense," she said.
"What kind of nonsense?" Carla was apparently intrigued.
"I've forgotten," Isabel replied, seemingly uninterested in talking about it.
Right after that, the Secretary of State came out of the President's room again.
However, he was not alone, there was another man beside him, a man who looked to be ten years older than him and was followed by many staff, each of whom looked very experienced.
Seeing the old man, people stopped talking and looked at him seriously.
He is naturally the President, the number one man in Europe by status.
Maybe sometimes the politics in Europe make the President's authority seem limited, but even in such situations, the President is still very powerful, able to do many things.
The problem is that he is the leader of hundreds of millions of people and the region he leads has the strongest economy, so if he goes to another country, he will be welcomed more than kings.
