Chapter 79: Enter Academy Officially

Chapter 79: Enter Academy Officially

On the other side of the teleportation gate.

The first thing Kai saw were rows of statues carved out of stone standing on both sides of the teleportation gate, with no guards in the room.

However, if one had high magic power sensitivity and high mastery over runes, they would be able to know the true nature of these statues.

"Stone golems enhanced by 6th stage rune circuits and a small-scale magic array as a power source. This academy is really rich to make such things," said Kai as he continued looking around the hall but didn't find anything interesting.

"Students," called out David while clapping his hands to get everyone's attention. "We have arrived at the outermost periphery of the academy, where this teleportation hall was built and used only for entrance exams.

From here, we will move to the registration office, where you guys will get registered as students and will receive your guide book, ID card, academy uniforms, as well as know what room will be allocated to you. Follow me."

Hearing David, everyone followed him through the hall illuminated by magic lamps and passed through a wooden gate, entering the registration room.

It was a small room with a single old man wearing black clothes and a loose round spectacle. He was sleeping peacefully on the chair and the thick register on the table.

David knocked on the table. "Old Black, wake up. The new students are here and need to be registered."

Hearing the noise, the old man opened his eyes slowly and looked at David, Kai and the others. He then straightened up his back and adjusted his spectacle.

"So these are the ones that passed." Old black nodded. "Where are the tickets?"

David gave him the examination entry tickets.

Receiving them, he opened the register and opened a blank page. He then placed the tickets there and, as the tickets disappeared, rows of words with information about the candidates appeared. It happened again and again as he closed the register.

"Done." He stood up from his chair, picking up the register and walking towards the wall and touching it. A teleportation gate then appeared.

"Let's go," said David. Kai and the others followed and appeared in a room with a closed door and full of clothes.

There were two rows of bundles of readymade folded clothes on a table. One row was red and the other was blue.

David stood before them.

"Magic users come and pick up two of the blue bundles, fighters pick up two of the red ones. Remember, these clothes will only be given for free for the first time. If you damage them or lose them, you will have to pay a thousand gold to buy a new set since they are not ordinary clothes."

Hearing that gave everyone a scare as they looked at the uniforms and quickly picked up their corresponding set.

Kai was also going to pick one up, but David stopped him.

"These uniforms are only for basic class students. You will get yours in the academy's inner court," said David.

Kai nodded.

Seeing everyone take their clothes aside from Kai, Old Black nodded and opened the wooden door, entering a room full of rows of keys hanging from a wooden wall and various numbers carved on them. There was also a desk with a wooden box and a pen placed on it.

He opened the register and placed it on the desk. Then, he reached out his hand and picked up keys from the wall, and picked up the pen and started writing the key numbers.

After some time, he handed the keys to all the students except Kai.

"These keys are your locker, as well as your room, keys. The first four digits represent your room number, and the last ones represent your personal locker number. You will find the locker in your room.

For basic class students, each room is shared by four people, so only three others will have access to your room besides the academy officials. Don't lose them or you will have to sleep in the corridor," said Old Black with a serious expression.

After that, he looked at Kai and smiled.

"As for you young man, you get to pick your room yourself from this wooden box." Old Black opened the box and looking inside, Kai saw ten keys inside.

"Choose one." Kai nodded and with his right hand, picked a key and handed it to Old Black.

Seeing the number on the key, Old Black and David looked at the key and then at Kai.

"Hehehe, you really were born with a shitty kind of luck." The two looked at Kai with pitiful eyes.

Kai was confused by their reaction.

"Is there something wrong with the room I am going to stay at?"

"Nothing, nothing is bad about the room. Instead, it is the most luxurious room in the entire dormitory. It is just that your roommate is going to be a little hard to deal with," said David as he tried to avoid eye contact with Kai.

"But nothing can be done about it. Wish you the best of luck." David patted Kai's shoulders.

Cough... Cough...

"Don't start drama here, David, it's already 7 pm. At 8, dinner will be served for the basic class students."

"You guys better go to your rooms, change into your uniform and gather at the dining hall or else all of you guys will sleep with an empty stomach," said Old Black with a strict expression.

David nodded and without wasting any more time, took the new students to the teleportation gate and adjusted it to connect with the gate at the basic class student's dormitory. They then entered it one by one, leaving Old Black and Kai alone

Old Black smiled at Kai.

"Looks like I will be your guide from here on." He adjusted the teleportation gate again and connected it to the advanced course student's dormitory.

"It is my first time connecting this gate with the inner court's," Old Black commented while the gates connected.

Once connected, they both entered.

Reaching the other side, Kai found himself in an open hall made of white marble and magic lamps on the walls, with no doors.

Coming out from the hall, he saw a long corridor.

"Look at your key and find the room that matches the number while you walk."

"Ok, sir," replied Kai.

"No need to call me sir. You can call me Old Black like everyone else. I want to accompany you longer as you are new, but I have to submit this register so that you, new kids, don't face problems tomorrow.

On my way, I will inform the dormitory supervisor so that you get your food to your room."

"Thanks, Old Black," thanked Kai while he left to find his room with a cheerful smile.

Old Black had a sly smile on his face. "Today is his first night in the advanced course students' dormitory. Best of luck is all I can say.

If anything bad happens to you, you only have your bad luck to blame. It is an academy tradition, after all, some find it heaven, and some hell." Thinking that, Old Black walked towards the dormitory's supervisor's office.

Unknown to Old Black's thoughts, Kai cheerfully looked for the room matching the key while down the corridor.
