Rise of the Legendary Emperor

Chapter 193: Challenge Begins

Chapter 193: Challenge Begins

"You fucking bastard!"

Arrora shouted at a high pitch when she fell on the ground.

And she raised her head, she saw a huge wyvern running towards while showing its bloodied sharp teeth. She quickly rolled away to get herself out from being squashed like a bug by the wyvern.

After standing on her feet, she immediately moved back and got out of the Wyvern's reach to study its movements. Just like she studied the Wyvern's movements, it did the same too.

While keeping a safe distance from the wyvern, Arrora created a fireball and threw it at the wyvern, yet the fireball didn't even make a mark on its body.

However, the fireball angered the wyvern as it decided to fight her in close range. When the wyvern was running towards her, she used the bound energy to loosen the mud beneath the wyvern to throw it out of balance.

Just like she planned, the wyvern slipped when it stepped on the loosened mud. It was the opening she was looking for and when she saw the wyvern slip, she leaped towards the wyvern and threw her sword that she covered with the flames created by the bound energy aiming at the wyvern's eye.

Considering the sword was covered with the flames and she used all of her power in the throw, the sword flew and resembled a shooting star as it pierced straight through the wyvern's eye into its brain.

When she landed on the ground, the wyvern's lifeless body fell and a bolt of lightning landed before her. After a few seconds, she saw a shield lying on the ground where the bolt hit the ground.

It was a tenacious round shield, made from Azrite, one of the strongest metals in this world, it offered an agile safety guard, especially against crushing attacks and lunging attacks.

The shield's edges seemed to be enhanced with metal plating and had been decorated with golden studs.

On the surface of the shield, she saw some writings, runes, and symbols that she didn't understand.

Its center is embellished with zealous texts and symbols of personal accomplishments.

Looking at the shiny shield, one thing was clear to her and that was this shield has yet to see its first battle. Everything was in pristine condition, she couldn't guess if this shield is even meant for battle or for a ceremony, but one thing is for sure: this shield craves a master of its equal, her.

****************************

"What do I do with this tiny freakin dagger?"

Knight was staring and cursing at a shiny little dagger in his hand as wings and bloodied body parts of the wyvern lying around him.

He had many better and shinier daggers than this one in his space ring.

"I hope I'll get a better item than this crap "

Knight put the dagger in the space ring Don got from the board because when they checked the rings, it would be suspicious if it was empty.

After a few moments, a projection of number two appeared before him.

"The second wave"

He wondered how Don was doing in the arena as a creature that had an upper body of a human and from the hip, the creature had the body of a spider.

"You are a little bit ugly'

Knight couldn't help himself from saying this when he saw the six eyes on the creature's face.

Suddenly with lightning-fast, the creature attacked Knight with its whip-like tongue. Although Knight was quick enough to evade the tongue, it grazed his shoulder and caused a burn wound.

Fortunately, just like Don, he was also immune to poisons or this attack would have caused his life. At the same moment, the three tiger cubs ran away from the creature and entered the white light in the corner of the room to forfeit the challenge, just like the tigress instructed them to do.

Before the tiger cubs met the three of them, she told them that they could come with her, and the moment they got to wave two, they had to exit from the arena since they were still too little to face challenges like this.

The cubs didn't get cocky when they defeated the wyvern because it took all their power to cast a spell that gave them the ability to produce a lightning bolt from the mouth and hit the wyvern.

She wouldn't have brought the cubs and let them take part in one challenge if they didn't beg her to let them. Since this place prevents anyone from fighting outside the arena and the cubs needed to start somewhere to get battle experience, she agreed to take them with her.

Besides the creature freaked out the cubs as they bolted towards the gateway the moment they saw the creature. They didn't even take their rewards for beating the wyvern.

After leaving the arena, the cubs saw a group of beasts and youths standing outside and watching the projections. Just like the tigress said, they strolled into the side of the beasts and stood with them.

The cubs cheered for Arrora and the tigress but wanted Don and Knight to get some wounds before beating the creature because they defeated the tigress in the duel.

Currently, Knight was running around the creature to study its attacks and movements just like he did to the wyvern. The creature mainly used its tongue and its two legs to attack. The tongue was coated in poison and the hands produced a thick white web to stop the opponent from moving.

After running around for a few moments, Knight found its weak point as he saw the creature do its best to prevent him from getting closer to it.

And when Knight saw the tongue attack, he quickly covered his hands in battle energy and grabbed the tongue.

"Eeeeeehhhllll"

The creature made a weird sound when Knight caught its tongue but Knight quickly pulled the creature towards him by the tongue.

"We played enough"

The creature tried to web him using their hands but Knight let go of its tongue and quickly ripped its hands-off.

"EEEEEEEEHHHHLLLL"

Yellow liquid sprayed out of the shoulder as the creature shouted but Knight ended its suffering by instantly crushing its head.

Knight kicked the creature's body away as the light of bolt landed before him. The reward that Knight earned was a fairly large, slim, warped sword made of diamond held by a grip wrapped in extravagant, deep orange some kind of hide.

One sharp edge makes sure this weapon was not just for hacking and slashing, but also great to block incoming attacks.

The sword had a small, curved crossguard, just large enough to make sure the holder's fingers were safe and the sword would remain firmly in hands. The cross-guard had an ornamented owl head on each side, a unique design for a unique weapon.

A thick pommel was marked with the symbol of an eagle. The blade itself was fairly simple. No markings, no decorations, and no engravings.

When Knight touched the blade of the sword, it radiated a bone-chilling cold but he hurriedly took his hand away and gripped the sword by its hilt.

When he held the sword by its hilt, he didn't feel the bone-chilling cold he felt before when he touched the blade.

"Cool, literally"

Knight smiled as he put the sword in his space ring and waited for the next wave.

The next wave didn't begin until everyone completed the current wave or forfeited the wave by running into the light gate. After waiting a few moments, everyone finished their battle with the creature as the third wave started.

Everyone saw huge griffins on each projection. The cubs were glad that they ran out of the arena looking at the size of the griffins.

"Ah"

The youths standing outside closed their ears when they heard high pitched shrieks that the griffins made. In some projections, they saw the contender's body explode after the shrieking sound. Some of them who survived the sound, ran towards the white light as fast as they could.

One of the survivors who ran away from the griffin was none other than Aster. She barely defeated the creature from the previous round and she would have exploded into pieces if it's not for the spell that she cast on herself before the battle.

"Sister Aster, are you alright?"

Some girls who left the arena with wave two came running towards Aster.

"I'm fine"

She closed her eyes and cast a healing spell on herself as the wounds, cuts started to disappear from her skin.

"I don't see Chase in any of the projections, where is she?"

After looking at the projections outside, Aster asked the girls as they shook their heads.

"We don't know, Sister Aster"

Aster couldn't believe that Chase would miss entering this level. Chase stopped talking with Rosaline and her after the events that happened in Enarin and because of that, they didn't even enter the dungeon together.

But before the gathering, Chase was excited to enter this arena and show her battle prowess when they talked about the dungeon. She showed them the brand new bow her school gave it to her to use it in the dungeon but seeing that Chase didn't come here, it freaked Aster out.

"Anyone has seen Miss Chase before?"

Aster looked at the youths standing outside and asked.

"I saw her, we fought in the scroll building before the golem appeared from nowhere and killed many of us"

A youth from a rank three kingdom said.

"Did she get out of there alive?"

Aster's voice cracked as the youth nodded confidently

"Yes, I saw her flying into the woods after escaping the golems"

"Look at that"

The youth who was talking to Aster suddenly pointed out the projection that was showing Princess Audrey standing on the top of the griffin.
