Chapter 33 Assault
Outside the Bruic bar, a hand clasped Sasha from behind, causing her to jump in surprise. She turned around to find Charlie, the guy her friend had introduced her to, with his face red and his body swaying with each hiccup.
"Come," he slurred, trying to pull her along with him.
Sasha's expression darkened as she struggled against his grasp. "What do you think you're doing!?" she demanded.
But Charlie was surprisingly strong for someone so thin, and he dragged her along with him. "I'll make your night enjoyable," he promised, his words slurring together. "Don't worry, I'll even pay you a good amount of money later on."
Sasha growled, "Let go of me! Or else..."
But Charlie didn't listen. Instead, he yanked her back and screamed, "Bitch, stop resisting! You slut, you were the first one to seduce me!"
Enraged, Sasha raised her leg to kick him in the nut. But before she could, Charlie grabbed her leg and pushed her down to the ground. Sasha gasped in pain as he grabbed her ankle and began to drag her along the pavement.
"Help! Someone help!" she screamed, but the area was empty, and no one seemed to hear her cries.
Just when she thought all hope was lost, something dark flashed past her, and then there was a thud and a groan of pain. Sasha's vision blurred for a moment, and then she shook her head to clear it. When she stood up, she saw a woman dressed in black standing over Charlie's crumpled body.
She wore skin-tight black clothes that hugged her curves, showing a hint of cleavage. Her raven hair tumbled in loose waves around her face, and Sasha could see the glint of crimson eyes behind a cloth mask. The woman's features were obscured, but Sasha could feel the frigid air surrounding her. The woman turned to Sasha, her eyes softening slightly. "Are you alright?" she inquired.
Sasha, still shocked, said, "Thank you," not knowing how to express her gratitude as well as quickly rush away from the place; she was still worried about Ethan.
Charlie tried to get up, but he was in too much pain and could only groan weakly. Sasha watched, bewildered, as the woman stood over him, her eyes widening.
"You should have had something to defend yourself," the woman scolded Sasha, sounding like an older sister despite her youth. "It's not safe to be out alone at night without protection."
Sasha nodded, grateful for the advice, but feeling embarrassed by her lack of preparedness. The two women stood in awkward silence until Sara suddenly appeared on the scene.
"Sasha! What happened? Are you okay?" Sara exclaimed, wrapping her arms tightly around her friend.
Sasha explained the situation, feeling relieved to have a familiar face around. Sara's eyes widened in shock as she realized she had introduced Sasha to Charlie.
"I am so sorry, Sasha. I had no idea he would behave this way," Sara said, her voice filled with remorse.
Charlie tried to speak, but Sara was having none of it. "You are a despicable excuse for a human being!" she yelled, punctuating her words with a series of hard slaps to his face. Sasha watched in stunned silence as Sara vented her fury.
"Thank you," Sasha said, her voice trembling. "I don't know how to repay you for what you did."
The woman placed a hand on Sasha's shoulder. "Just be careful out here," she said. Sasha nodded, her mind still reeling from the incident. "I will," she said before quickly walking away into the night, Sara following after her.
The woman watched her go, her eyes following her until she disappeared from sight. Then she turned to look at Charlie. He was clearly in pain but there was a hint of fury in his eyes.
She sighed and muttered, "what should I do with him now?"
Just then, Charlie growled, "You bitch will pay for this."
This made her take out her phone and call someone. "Nemesis," she said.
Nemesis's voice came through the other end, professional and cool. "Is this work-related, Eva Cobb?"
The woman in black, Eva, nodded even though Nemesis couldn't see her. "Yes, it is, Nemesis."
"Alright," Nemesis said. "Tell me what happened."
Eva took a deep breath before playing along with Nemesis, her tone just like her friend. "I caught a guy assaulting a woman, and I want you to teach him a lesson. But don't take it too far. Please."
There was a pause on the other end before Nemesis replied, "I won't see him. Just send some people to beat him up for a few days."
Eva picked Charlie up like a sack and walked outside. She stood on the street corner, waiting for the hired muscle to arrive.
After a few minutes, a car pulled up, and several burly men got out. They respectfully addressed Eva before taking Charlie away, to teach him the lesson she had asked for. Eva watched as the car disappeared around the corner and then turned around to enter the bar.
Ignoring the stares of people, she climbed up the stairs and then entered a room. Her eyes scanned the dimly lit room until they landed on her target.
Seated in a corner, she saw a man with blonde hair and piercing blue eyes. A scar above his eyebrow that gave him a rugged, dangerous look.
Despite several women in skimpy clothing vying for his attention, his posture betrayed a sense of boredom and disinterest.
As she drew closer, Eva noticed the man's sharp features and strong jawline, which only added to his aura of danger.
Beside him on the sofa sat a woman who seemed out of place in the seedy place, engrossed in her tablet. The woman looked up and gazed at Eva, her brown eyes shining with curiosity.
But Eva focused on the man with the scar. Without hesitation, she announced her purpose to him: "Derek Dawson, I am sent by 'fear'."
***
I am pretty sure, you forgot who Derek is. He is one of the bully of Ethan as well as his major target of revenge.
