Chapter 41 Crazy
Ethan nodded at Remora before turning to her and asking, "Do you mind waiting a bit longer? I need to make a call home."
Remora replied with a simple "Sure," and Ethan hesitated for a moment before dialing Mia's number. After a few rings, she picked up with an irritated tone, "Where are you, you dumb fuck?"
Ethan winced at her words before getting straight to the point. "Mia, did Mom and Dad see that picture that's going viral?"
"They did," she confirmed.
Ethan's heart sank, and he quickly asked, "Can you handle it? I don't want to worry them."
Mia scoffed at him, calling him a "retard" before adding, "I've already calmed them down about the picture. They were just worried about not being able to reach you. Okay, Mom wants to talk to you now."
Ethan took the phone, hearing his stepmother's angry voice on the other end. "Ethan? Why haven't you been answering our calls? Where are you?"
He could sense the disappointment and frustration in her voice as she continued, "You just got out of the hospital, and you're already acting like this? You need to take better care of yourself, Ethan."
"Mom, please listen to me. I'm okay," Ethan said, quickly coming up with a story. "I was on my way home, and I ran into an old classmate who I haven't seen in years. We got to talking, and then he invited some other people to celebrate my recovery. I'm sorry I didn't let you know earlier, but when I went to call, my phone died."
Scarlett didn't sound convinced. "Can you prove it? Let me talk to your friend."
Ethan's mind raced as he tried to think of a way out of this situation. Should he get angry and confrontational, or try to be calm and rational? He couldn't decide.
Suddenly, he felt a hand on his shoulder. Remora was holding out her hand, asking for the phone. Ethan hesitated, but then decided to hand it over.
He saw her smile widen, which made him nervous. He wondered why he had given her the phone, as he wouldn't normally do such a thing.
Later as they walked to Izora's room. Ethan let out another sigh. Remora was able to handle it perfectly. But in the end, she hinted that they were dating. Scarlett would have caught on that and now there was a misunderstanding.
He glanced at her side profile, her smile annoyed him. He had a sudden urge to punch her face.
She chuckled, "Having violent thoughts now?"
Ethan shook his head and stayed silent. After reaching the room where Izora was admitted, Ethan saw Sydney from the door's glass.
Sydney appeared to be younger than her actual age of thirteen, with her small stature and her head bowed down as she sat beside Izora. Her yellow ears, which matched the color of her hair, were drooping, adding to the sense of frailty that emanated from her.
Ethan's blood boiled with rage as he thought about the disgusting intentions those fuckers had towards the young girl. The killing intent surged through him, similar to when he activated his berserk ability.
Suddenly, he turned to Remora and spoke in a low voice, asking if he could see the bastard who had caused the girl's suffering.
Remora shook her head, leaving Ethan feeling helpless and infuriated. She sensed a dense, murderous red-black energy swirling around him, and a thought popped into her mind. Was she crazy? As she 'looked' at Ethan, she felt something change inside her.
"It's your fault," she murmured, sensing the intense energy emanating from Ethan. It had awakened something inside her, just like the changing energy that symbolized his intense thoughts.
Remora stepped closer to Ethan and whispered, "You can take out your anger on me."
The fiery red energy surrounding him changed, and a hint of creamy white appeared in it, mixing with the rage to become something strange, something erotic. Remora was excited by it.
Ethan closed his eyes and replied, "Don't be crazy."
Remora purred, "It's okay. You can use my virgin body to calm down. We don't have much time, so be as rough as you want and finish quickly."
'I must be going insane,' Remora thought. Something was definitely wrong here. But first, she had to calm the fire burning inside her.
Ethan's grip on her wrists was like a vice as he forcefully dragged her up the staircase. Once they were on the rooftop, he used his divine sense to scan the area, and finding no one, he proceeded to take her to the spot with the camera's blind spot.
He pushed her against the wall, wrapping his fingers tightly around her throat as he began to choke her. "What the hell have you done to me, you bitch?!" he growled, unleashing the power of Devil's Whisper upon her.
According to the description, his words could open the hidden desires and thoughts of the other person.
Ethan was well aware of his own sexual desires and how much he loathed people like the man who had bought Sydney. However, he knew he could never let himself lose control to the point of being consumed by lust or rage, even if seduced by a woman.
It was clear that something was seriously wrong, and Nyx's warning about his lack of control was not enough to explain the intensity of his emotions. It had to be Remora who had done something to him.
Remora's complexion drained of color, and she didn't resist, instead, she spoke in a strange, raspy voice, "I... I didn't do anything. I... myself don't know what is wrong with me." Her face contorted with an unsettling mixture of pain and pleasure.
Tears streamed down her face, but there was something off about them, as if they were tears of joy. "I don't know why I... really really like the way you choke me~." Her words were laced with a sense of desperation and arousal that made the hairs on the back of Ethan's neck stand up.
"Crazy bitch," Ethan snarled, his eyes flashing with rage as he let her go. Remora's hands flew to her neck, struggling to gasp for air. She coughed violently, her body convulsing with each spasm.
Ethan's fury boiled over, and he bared his teeth, feeling like a wild animal. He clenched his fist so tight his knuckles turned bone-white, and then he let loose, delivering a savage punch to her gut.
The impact was sickening, and Remora's body contorted in agony as she let out a blood-curdling scream that echoed into the night. The pain was excruciating, a white-hot fire that seared through her gut and left her gasping for air.
Her body shook with each heaving breath, and tears streamed down her face, mixing with the sweat that ran down her skin. Ethan stood there, his chest heaving as he stared up at the cloudy sky, feeling like he was losing his mind. The violence had consumed him, a crazed frenzy that had taken hold and refused to let go.
