Chapter 254: Arriving in Langriss Woodlands, Cosmic Factions Making Moves
After Rin and Erix managed to nurture their Magic Flower, make it bear fruit within a day, and absorb it, the group didn't stay longer and immediately resumed their journey.
Onward to the Langriss Woodlands.
It was in the west corner of the Core Domain and a journey of a whole day, even at the full speed of Lilith's Airship.
Although speeding at maximum cost more energy, they were not short of money and common resources since they hunted a lot of hunters and monsters.
They arrived there at the scheduled time despite a small hiccup in the middle where a group who didn't know better wanted to loot them.
They were rather an infamous group consisting of an Empyrean-order and a gang of Royal-order, operating mainly on their flying ship like pirates to loot transport ships.
Alas, they met their end when they decided to loot the wrong people.
…
"So, this is the Langriss Woodland, eh? Why are the trees so weird?" Rin asked, looking around with a surprised expression.
The airship had entered the Langriss Woodland. As its name suggested, it was basically a forest.
However, this forest was unique and extraordinarily vibrant with life and vitality.
The trees were big and exotic, as none of them were straight. All trunks were weirdly bent, and so were their trunks.
Some trees had sakura-like pink leaves, while some had rich green leaves. Some trees were giant and thick but still bent, while some had slim trunks but bent like a snake.
The group didn't see any monsters at first, but after crossing two kilometers, they started appearing.
The weakest monsters here were of Royal-order. Even those directly born had stats equivalent to peak Noble-order rank because that was how it worked when bloodline played a major part.
Even on Earth, the new generation of humans born from superhumans in the future would have some sort of advantages and boons like innate talents and bloodlines.
"We'll enter the elven territory after crossing three hundred kilometers into this woodland," Lilith informed as she turned to Rin and Erix.
"You two should meditate until then and focus on gaining insights to form your Aracne Spirit Pool."
Erix and Rin didn't waste any time as they entered today's Limitless Plane session and started training.
Gaining insights in Limitless Plane would be faster!
"Lily, we'll collect natural resources that we encounter on the way. The valuable ones would be protected by monsters, so be careful."
"Understood."
The group continued inside while the Cosmic Factions in the Core Domain finally took notice of Rin and Erix.
Galactic Knights Cosmic Faction.
This faction ranked 72nd overall but 3rd rank in the Kaalanx Abyss.
Cosmic Faction only had a top 100 rankings in all of the Grand Primal Cosmos, and all of them started as small guilds somewhere in the long passage of time.
Inside a hall, a middle-aged man with shoulder-length black hair and wearing a knight-styled, slick light armor stood before fifty people.
All fifty of them were in Royal-order, level 300.
"We have to recruit those two somehow."
"Our faction's spiritual art and specialties can further boost their arsenal of powers. Who will let them know about it?"
Hearing the middle-aged man's words, several people in the group confidently raised their hands.
The branch leader was basically telling them to fight those two, defeat them, and convince them to join their faction.
Of course, they were confident in beating those two!
The middle-aged man narrowed his eyes upon seeing the raised hands and faced behind them. His expression turned sharp as he said, "It seems that not many of you understood what I meant."
"None of you can beat them dominantly, so put away those smug faces. If you just barely win against them, it wouldn't convince them to join our faction."
"But…." The middle-aged man paused before slyly smiling, "If you manage to beat them dominantly and convince them, I'll personally reward you with any of the exclusive boons of our faction that you've yet to earn."
…
Celestial Bell Cosmic Faction.
Ranked 59th overall, 1st ranked in the Kalaanx Abyss.
Inside a beautiful white palace, a woman wearing a white layered dress with fancy, colorful embroidery in traditional style stood before a group of Royal-order hunters.
All of them had just finished watching the last Mirage Crystals displaying Rin's and Erix's combat in Wihanx Finger.
"They should have further improved by now, and we don't have the latest news or recording of their combat," the lady said before she sat on an exquisite white chair with a soft couch that materialized behind her.
"Meimei and Lania, you two will go and try to become friends with them. The group only has one man, while the rest are women, so it is safe to assume all those women are his and he is theirs," she said with a calm yet elegant smile as her gaze landed on two beauties who looked in their mid-twenties.
Meimei and Lania were visibly startled, and their faces turned red.
"Lady Ayame, are you suggesting we become his women? T-That…."
"We don't…" the other one said, her voice small and nervous.
Lady Ayame softly chuckled while shaking her head, "No, but it would be better to send women instead of men if we want to recruit those two."
"Your love life is your choice."
Both beauties visibly sighed in relief. They didn't want such a task imposed on them.
"Convince those two to join the faction slowly. Join their group somehow and be honest. You two are also one of the most powerful here, but if you fail to impress them, I doubt they will let you join their group."
"We will succeed," Meimei said with determination before she cutely smiled, "But what about the rewards if we succeed?"
"Up to five stages of Celestial Tune Spiritual Art and a single attempt in the Celestial Bell Tower."
"Whaa..."
The other silent Royal-order hunters were visibly surprised and started protesting that they also wanted to have a chance at this task.
"Silence! If I am not right, Meimei and Lania are the highest ranked in our faction leaderboard among you all. I didn't choose them just because they are beauties."
Lady Ayame snorted as a sharp pressure oozed out of her, "If Meimei and Lania fail, I'll give others a chance."
"Then we'll be leaving."
Meimei and Lania excitedly left the hall, but they suddenly paused and turned around when they reached the exit door.
"Lady Ayame, what's their current location? Do you have information about that?"
Ayame smiled and said, "You have to find that yourself. Use teleport circle to reach Wihanx Finger and start asking around from there."
"Ouch…" Meimei made a painful expression, feeling lazy about this process. "Umm….can we wait for some time? I'm sure we'll get their news soon, no?"
Lania wryly smiled.
"What if members of other factions reach them before us?" Ayame rolled her eyes, "Lania, drag her with you and make sure she works."
"Come on, Meimei. Stop being lazy," Lania snapped her finger, trapped Meimei in a transparent bubble with a rainbow hue, and flew out of the palace.
"Fine, fine, fine! Don't trap me in this bubble, Lani! It's embarrassing!"
