Chapter 114 Bigger Scale
He manifested his six other Spirits, filling his room to the brim.
Herculean and Agile sat down in the corners of the room opposite the bed. They entered a stance that was often used to meditate while ignoring Mocalw, who laid down in between the two Human Spirits.
Glutton was lying in the middle of the room, absorbing soul particles as well, while the Sparrow Spirits were calmly resting on Glutton's large carapace, filling their soulframe slowly with the soul particles they had amassed in their heart.
'I should have a few more days before the Colosseum finishes preparing the next challenge,' Zayn thought.
He was not exactly sure what he was supposed to do right now because there were too many pending tasks on his to-do list. However, he didn't want to attract too much attention.
It was not unlikely that people would follow him if he were to leave the Colosseum. He guessed that someone would follow him to find out more about his identity and if he was sent to stir trouble in the Colosseum. His connection with Silas would be exposed if he would spend too much time with Silas outside the Colosseum, and some onlookers might even be able to connect Zayn to Merlin. After all, Silas had been known for being close to Merlin Kivan for a long time.
That meant entering the Achiv of the Adventurer Hall might become more troublesome. Zayn didn't want that to happen.
Thus, he ended up raking his brain for a short while before he chose to accelerate the replenishing process of his soul particles by absorbing the soul particles in the surrounding area as well.
His talent was pretty low, which was also why he spent the rest of the day until his soul particles were replenished. With his energy filled to the brim, he left his Spirits inside his room.
A tray filled with his dinner was placed down in front of his door but Zayn didn't touch it. He was hungry but unwilling to risk having the Colosseum's food. The chance was slim but there might be poison in it.
There could have been poison in the food given to him earlier as well, however, the Colosseum would only see him as a threat now, not earlier when he was still the weak Normie teenager.
Zayn didn't think that the Colosseum would actually poison the food, but it was always better to be careful. He had provoked Manager Tilan quite a bit after completing his first challenge and successfully earning a vast fortune.
Furthermore, the Colosseum's food was not exactly appetizing.
Zayn left the Colosseum when it was about to get dark. He didn't bother to remain unnoticed and walked straight through the main entrance. With his fortune, he could buy the most expensive food but Zayn would rather spend a fortune on his bets to further provoke Manager Tilan than have a sumptuous meal.
He spent two copper coins for a full bag of meat buns and savored them on his way through the city. The City of Zerek was a beautiful place at night. The bustling city never quieted down. That was something he enjoyed quite a bit. Ignoring the disdainful gazes that were thrown at him, he stepped right into the bustling night market in the city center and looked around to observe everything keenly.
Zayn found a few Artifacts, potions, and other things that attracted his interest. But he merely looked at them and didn't buy anything.
His hand was continuously reaching out for the meat buns in his bag until the last one was devoured. Still feeling hungry, he chose to buy a few more things from the stalls in the night market. That way, he spent an additional four copper coins before he returned to the Colosseum with a full stomach and a satisfied smile.
The receptionists and other staff members looked weirdly at him, which he had gotten used to by now. However, there was also a new emotion Zayn could see in their expression and attitude.
Respect.
Even if it was not much, the staff respected his strength and bravery to go up against Manager Tilan and the Colosseum in such an overbearing manner.
Zayn found that quite intriguing, and he wondered how much their attitude toward him would change in the future.
'It's not like their behavior matters. I will finish my mission and leave Zerek then, either way,' He thought while returning to his room where the Spirits were still absorbing soul particles.
For the next four days, the Spirits continued to absorb soul particles without taking a single break. Meanwhile, Zayn worked out, trained in the Double Saber Kalivan technique, and diligently studied the monsters of the Colosseum using the information he could gather inside Zerek's library.
He couldn't really use Silas as his informant because someone was actually ordered to follow him wherever he went but that was something Zayn could live with.
He found information about the Heavy Armored Bull in the City's Library. That was more than enough for him. After all, the Heavy Armored Bull had been determined as the opponent in his next Challenge!
While he studied the Heavy Armored Bull and kept his body moving to maintain his shape, the Colosseum's preparations for the battle could be considered as extravagant.
They left no stone unturned in flamboyantly advertising the upcoming match. Everyone in the city found out that Zayn would fight the Heavy Armored Bull.
For the first time in three years, a Normie had survived fighting against the Blazing Sabertooth Tiger...and actually killed it. The Blazing Sabertooth Tiger had never lost in the ten years it had been used as an opponent for the Colosseum's challenge.
Thus, the Colosseum used this as a means of advertisement, sending the town in a nervous frenzy as Zayn became the talk of the town overnight.
They had to earn a huge fortune, after all!
