Chapter 39 Misconception
The corners of Zayn's lips curled upward as he kept watch on the female server and the men who eyed her with obvious desire.
It didn't matter whether their desire was stimulated by the alcohol they drank or due to the lack of intimacy they had during the last few months. All of them were unabashedly staring at that one particular female server, who was walking through the Inn serving mugs filled with beer and cleaning the tables.
Her long flowing hair was tied back in a ponytail. She had piercing blue eyes that sparkled lightly with a hint of discomfort which she was trying to hide to the best of her capabilities.
Unfortunately, that grew more difficult over time. It was late at night by now and there were only a few guests that weren't wasted. The lustful gazes that lingered on her were getting more intrusive and she was trying hard to continue smiling warmly and doing her job.
She was even trying to change the way she moved but her steps were still filled with poise, highlighting her slender figure that was clad in a simple dress that was worn by every female server. Yet, only her simple dress seemed elegant as it covered the curvaceous body most men in the Inn wished to spend their night with.
As she made her way through the crowded room, her presence made it clear that she was the head of the bustling inn's wait staff. She attracted the attention of all men, whether young or old as she served the mugs of beer with a calm and cold facade that hid her true emotions.
Zayn had to be stupid, or blind if he couldn't understand the situation in the Inn. The vast majority of drunkards in the room were seasoned Adventurers who were more or less known for their capabilities.
Most of them made their living by hunting monsters, and they were proud men. Thus, the moment they laid their eyes on a woman that suited their tastes, the Adventurers wouldn't usually hesitate to approach her and start flirting.
That was exactly what seemed to have happened when Zayn left the Adventurer Inn to follow Paul. Apparently, the female server rejected the approaches of the Adventurers which wounded their prideful egos. The Adventurers ended up getting angry and intended to use force, only for others to intercept before anything bad could happen.
Being wasted, nobody was able to properly control their strength and emotions anymore. Thus, a fight had nearly started in the bar.
It took the Innkeeper and others some effort to prevent the small spark from turning into a full, raging fire and bringing forth chaos. Once the first Adventurers were to start fighting, the others would inevitably be pulled into the mess and the entire Inn would turn into a tight battlefield none of the drunkards would be able to escape from.
Fortunately, that could be prevented. Nonetheless, the Innkeeper hoped that Zayn would leave soon because he could tell that the night would end in a bar fight. As the owner of an inn for more than three decades, he knew when a bar fight was unavoidable.
It was not the first time that it happened either. Thus, the Innkeeper finished his last preparations to make sure that his wife and people would be fine while simultaneously making sure that everything looked the same as before.
Nobody took note of the Innkeeper's preparations, not even Zayn who couldn't care less about leaving the Adventurer Inn. He was aware of the dangers but he didn't want to give Phillip and his bodyguards a chance of survival or sneaking upto him, unnoticed.
After everything they did in the past and the things Phillip and the others were willing to do they deserved to die. This didn't need any explanations or justifications because it was an obvious fact!
Zayn felt a little bit sorry for the female server but he had to make use of her for a short moment.
The Sparrow Spirit emerged in Zayn's palm just a moment later. Nobody could see nor sense the materialization of the Spirit because it was well hidden within Zayn's cloak.
He looked at the Innkeeper and ordered a beverage while unveiling the beak of the dark-gray Sparrow Spirit.
A tiny fire needle formed in the Spirit's mouth which was released after it had aimed precisely at the designated target that arrived at the desired position just a moment later.
It was the female server who began to remove mugs from the table on which Phillip and his people sat. She picked up the mugs and placed them one after the other on the large wooden plate she held with one hand. The mugs were carefully stacked up to make sure that none of them would fall down. It would cause a disastrous domino effect which the female server wanted to prevent from occurring by maintaining a perfect balance.
Unfortunately, Zayn and the Sparrow Spirit had different ideas. While Zayn spoke a few words to the Innkeeper to distract him and make sure that nobody would ever suspect him about what was going to happen, the Spirit released the tiny fire needle.
The tiny needle was less than two centimeters long and couldn't be seen by anyone in the crowded room as it found its target.
It pierced the shoelace of the female server's right shoe and scratched the top of her foot with the searing hot flame of the fire needle.
The female server felt a sudden heat around her right foot and her body reacted instinctively by lifting her foot. She couldn't see what was happening but it felt like her foot was burning which was even more reason for her to respond and move her foot rapidly.
Her loose shoe fell on the ground and the female server's balance went for a toss when she wanted to set her bare foot down on the slippery wooden floor that was covered in beer.
"Aii!" She screamed out loudly as she lost control of the mugs in her left hand while slipping on the ground. The mugs rained down on the floor and broke into a hundred pieces while the server ended up falling into the arms of the bulky Blessed from Phillip's group.
The bulky Blessed was also the horniest in the entire group and the Blessed whom Zayn had seen touching his crotch every now and then while staring intensely at the female server who had just fallen into his arms.
Zayn looked over to take note of the situation that occurred to his right, just like everyone else. However, contrary to the others whose eyes were filled with anger as they analyzed the situation in their drunken mind, Zayn had to give his best not to smile devilishly.
The awkward position of the female server sitting on the bulky Blessed's lap with an uncomfortable and pained expression on her face while his arms coiled around her could only be explained in one way; the bulky Blessed was deliberately forcing himself onto the server!
'Misconception created…nice!'
