Temporal Pearls

Chapter 157: Ancestor Enoch

The crowd dispersed and the farmers left with the petition.

"Haha, this guy created his own quest. Good!" The armoured guy laughed.

"You seem to purposely not give him any quest. Why?" Samsi asked.

"He reeks of Red and Dragon!"

"What do you mean?"

"I mean what I said…. Zambia is making another dangerous thing, what is he after?" The man's attention was pulled elsewhere. Samsi, on the other hand, was surprised to see red stripes on Seth's green cloak.

The farmers returned angrily. "That bastard has no integrity in him, this boy has been working tirelessly but he refused to give him a reward."

"Young Seth, we are sorry but the chief denied our request!"

[Yellow City Quest Completed]

[Yellow City was a technologically advanced nation where they were able to tap into sun rays and use it as their source of power. With it they invented countless things, alas they were ultimately destroyed. Their land becomes infertile and their people slaughter, onto few survived]

~You have Plant 5 different varieties of Seed and nurtured them to visible sprouting

[Reward]

~Yellow Belt

______

Ding!

[Your reward has been denied]

____

Seth stated on the screen, "You gotta be kidding me. How could that be possible!"

"We are really sorry!"

"Calm down. I'm Seth Enoch and I have come from a place where plants and animals are abundant. It was in my village's mission to distribute as many seeds and germinate as many plants as we could everywhere we found ourselves. So, take this as charity work from me!"

The farmers almost tear up as they hug Seth.

"We farmers will never achieve anything if we rely on the authorities. We should unite and do what is right!"

"Yes!" The farmers shouted and then left again.

Seth on the other hand stared at the game screen. "Obtaining some quest rewards rely on the people that the quest serves?"

This showed that getting rewarded might be harder in the future. Is like getting paid after a person works in a company where the company decides not to pay the worker.

After all the seeds sprouted, Seth planted more on another empty plot. He has nothing to do, at least this gave him popularity and made some people respect him.

[Popularity +1]

[Level 10 Yellow Dweller will now respect you!]

All people look at him with a smile and move away, Seth sighed but then the atmosphere changes. People became rigid and their faces became unfriendly.

A man in a yellow luxurious robe walked to the farms. His face was dignified, his shoulders were broad, and he had black hair and yellow eyes.

As if he owned the place he went around the sprouts, checking them. At first, he wasn't impressed but after touching them, he calmed down.

[You have met the Yellow City Chief]

At the same time, the team of farmers come back with a yellow box, seeing the chief they try sneaking away, "Come here!" They come trembling.

Ding!

[Your reward has been brought!]

The chief refused to reward Seth but the farmers made another one. Sadly, the terrible chief was here.

The chief collected the reward box and took out what was inside. It was a belt, a yellow one at that.

"Young man, your seeds are indeed great. Our city will prosper and improve and we will not have to starve!" The man walked to Seth and glared at him before he handed the belt to him.

"I'm glad to help. But this is charity work, I don't need conversation!"

"They have contributed their money and energy and asked an artisan to make it for you but you refused. This is not a payment but a token of appreciation!"

Seth noticed there is something wrong with this chief, he is angry, and his glare was like he wanted to kill Seth.

[Exertion Points 196/200]

Just the pressure the chief was making made him lose some points. Seth sighed and said, "Thank you!" He extended his hand to take the belt but then a pulse of heat scorched it and turned it black like charcoal.

[Your reward has been damaged]

'Damned it. What was that all about?'

Seth forced a smile and said, "Playing frank does not suit an elder chief like you!"

"I do not agree with you to have any reward. Why will I let a fake village chief be a member of my city!"

"Well, thank you. My work is charity," Seth clarified again. But Seth wondered how he knew he was the Fake Village Chief.

"A liar. But let's change the topic. Where were you when we were starving!" The chief said, "And now you have the audacity to say you are doing charity work!"

Seth looked around the advanced city before he extrapolated that this was all fake. The true nature might not be what he was seeing now.

"I was not born!" Seth answered.

"You weren't born?" The chief said and he relaxed enough. Seth nodded. Then the chief stood before him and then handed him the scorched belt.

Seth took it.

[You have gained Yellow Belt]

There was no attribute it stated, it was truly destroyed. Seth thought the tension was gone but it wasn't.

"Where were your ancestors then? Why didn't they help us!" The man said in set ears. It's frustrating to Set as he didn't know what the man wanted, but ultimately he wanted to instigate hate in people's hearts against seth. And they were staring at Seth with anger like before.

"My ancestors are servants, some are slaves. We only strive to live. Why are you doing this?" Seth answered.

The chief walked away and stood 10 meters away and said. "Survivors are no Servants, they are kings and Queens. They rule and thrive!" Seth frowned as he saw the people's body was changing, the chief anger have affect the people to begin a transformation

"I don't understand," Seth shouted.

The chief smiled eerily and said.

"Enoch was sitting on a couch, seething with anger, frustration and hatred due to his wife's betrayal when the first asteroid hit the world and the first chaos issue."

Now, one of the mob has grown two meters, his body pulsing with hot yellow energy. His face was scorched black and his eyes had just burnt away.

"He embraced death with an open hand but, against his will, he survived and even thrived beyond previous humans. And built his domain like many like him. He did not help us, and neither did his descendants. Why?"

At that moment the transformed NPC lunged at Seth but met with staff expansion and he was thrown away.

"Why did his wife leave him?" Seth shouted, a foreboding feeling creeping on him.

"She won a lottery to be on the Ark but he didn't. And she kept it a secret without telling him until he saw her on the Ark leaving the planet!"

Another yellow monster jumped at Seth which was also thrown away by the staff.

"What Ark, when did this happen? And how did Enoch survive and become a King!"

"Haha, you don't know your history. Everything under the Yellow Sun was recorded in our archive. After the planet's destruction, survivors went chaotic and killed each other, some for seeking food and shelter, some for their dark desire and some to just live. People like your Ancestors want revenge. He and people like him unite and force order into society and build a nation.

They know the Ark will return and they intend to kill everyone on it!"

'Is this my history?' Seth wondered, 'How credible was it!'

Another monster attacked and he threw himself away.

"What is her name?"

"Eve Mamman!"

Seth was taken aback, that was one of his ancestors' names. More monsters lunged at him and he swatted them.

"Did he succeed!'

"There was nothing more dangerous than a man driven by rage. He wasn't the main leader but he had his Domain that trained soldiers for that purpose. But he was old when the first ship came and guess what? Eve Mamman was on it and also the leader of an expedition to search the world. War and Massacre, death and torture. The old bastard has his revenge with fetish and satisfaction beyond comparison.

But he refused to help us while he had that much power, he let us be enslaved, killed and exploited!"

This time, the chief himself was beginning to transform.

"He embraces revenge for something trivial while he should side with us and save the world. He watched Gawee descend to more chaos until it became a scorched dead land incapable of supporting life, only abominations!"

'Gawee represents the real world?' Seth surmised.

That was the end of the conversation as he transformed into a ten-meter giant yellow monster, his body emitting a terrifying glow of yellow light, and his veins were as if the liquid sun was flowing in them. His face, unlike other yellow monsters, was white and contorted into despair.
