Ten Years of Yearning. My Love, Let Me Protect You.

The car was going at a rather slow speed on the muddy roads. 

Luo Lixi was looking around her as she took in the breathtaking scenery out there. There were different kinds of trees like plum-blossoms, peaches, bamboos, loquats etc.; the majority of them were naturally born while some of them were planted by the local people for their own uses. 

When the car went past a nearly broken loquat tree, Luo Lixi shook it as the fresh water droplets rained above them from it. She giggled like a child who did something funny. Also, she took some loquats from that tree when Sheng Ruming wasn't paying any attention.

"What is this fruit? I don't think I have ever had it before? Hey, Ruming. Look. what are these?" She asked Sheng Ruming as she examined the yellow-orange fruits in her hand. She smelled them as she rubbed them in her hands. Due to the cold weather, those little things were icy and cold to the touch.

Sheng Ruming glanced at her sideways as he spoke up, "It's called loquats.The flavour is a pleasant blend of apricot, plum and cherry with floral overtones, and is quite sweet when those are ripe. I know you like peaches. So I guess you'll like it." He smiled as he concentrated on driving.

"Oh!" She said while glancing at the small forest beside the road. Two people were walking out from there while a dog was running ahead of them.

The road was bumpy. So when she was looking at there dazedly, the car was moving haphazardly on the narrow rough road. Some of the fruits flew away from her hands as the car stopped abruptly.

"Ah?! Ruming! What are you doing? The fruits..." She spoke angrily as the cluster of fruits laid on top of the grime ground as she shot it a look of pity. She frowned at Sheng Ruming while he tried to move the car but it didn't budge. He got down from the car.

 "What's wrong? Is the car okay?" She wanted to get down as well but Sheng Ruming stopped her when he saw her unbuckling the safety belt. The road was rough as it was made of soil and bricks.

"Don't move. The road is muddy. You can slip. Let me check." He crouched down before the car and saw the front wheels were stuck between several bricks. He used force to lift the car a little and brought it aside.

"Done." He said as he shook his hands. When  he lifted his head, what entered his eyes was a bewildered Luo Lixi.

"What's wrong?"

"You...! Isn't the car heavy? Also, I'm sitting in the car. Don't your hands hurt?" She said as she placed the fruits on his seat and hurriedly walked up to him. She saw his hands becoming scarlet. "Look! Your hands..." she said in grievance as she blew on his hands.

When Sheng Ruming saw concern for him in her eyes, he smiled a little. He was looking straight at her and looped his hands around her slender waist. Luo Lixi lifted her head when he took away his hands from her. 

The measurement of her waist just so happened to fit exactly within the confines of his hands as he closed her in. When she saw the tenderness in those crystal black eyes of him, she couldn't help becoming a little bashful. In addition to a soft shine in her watery black eyes, there was longing and sincere adoration for the man in front of her. She spread open her arms and clasped them behind his neck, bringing his head to her while tilting her face up as she opened her red mouth and aimed towards the rough thick lips of his. 

Their lips came into contact as Sheng Ruming kissed her back. It was not rough yet domineering; just a simple kiss, enough to soothe their hearts. Her black hairs were fluttering in the air while they hugged each other when suddenly they heard vaguely a dog's barking from afar.

Luo Lixi's mind cleared up as she hastily broke away her hands and distanced herself from him. 

"What's wrong?" Sheng Ruming asked in annoyance while dragging her in his embrace; not giving her a chance to speak.

"There are people coming here. I saw them earlier. It's broad daylight so be a little more reserved for me, alright?" She said while trying to break away again.

"You are my fiancée. What I do with my wife,  it's none of their business." He said in a domineering voice as he kissed her again.

"Ruming! Stop kissing me. You will give the passing men a topic to gossip about. It's a rural area. Be more sensible." Luo Lixi glared at him when she saw he was ignoring her protest. 

When she saw him approaching towards her she screamed on his face, "You are taking advantage of me being weak. You damn hooligan!" 

After saying it, she immediately closed her cherry lips while her eyes were tightly shut. She waited for the sensation on her lips but it never came. When she opened her left eye slightly, she saw he was looking at her from above with an expressionless face. She became embarrassed. 

"Were you expecting me to kiss you? If you want, I can still give you. Say it, Lixi." He lowered his head and whispered at her ear. 

Her face flushed as she hid her face in her hands. "No need." 

But then, he saw two men with a dog staring at their direction from afar. They were standing while pointing at them, discussing something unpleasant. 

One of them even ogled at his Lixi. He is a man so he knew that disgusting look. It was something a man would direct at a cheap or lecherous and dissolute woman. 

Sheng Ruming became angry but didn't want to let her know about this matter. Also today he wanted to roam and spend this precious time with her. So those people's fate was good as they escaped from his punishments.

"Let's go." He led her to the car and sat her down on her seat. She hastily took the loquats from his seat. He drove away the car while he shot a last icy glare at those people.
