Chapter 159 - You Think You Can Beat Me?
Amelia had left with the royal adviser, leaving me with the rest of the traitors, who were all glaring at me as if I was nothing more than an ant. While they were all scared of the queen, it seemed they were not aware of my strength, as they didn't respect me whatsoever.
As soon as Amelia had left, every single one of them had started speaking up against me, thinking that there was no chance for me to handle them. However, they couldn't be more wrong about this. At most, all of them were low-level demons that were not powerful whatsoever. Killing them would be even possible with my eyes closed; the only reason why they were still standing and that I hadn't ripped their mouths was because some of them could have some information about Perdere.
"I'm curious. How did every single traitor become a demon? Did you guys infiltrate this place?" I shook my head. "But that would be impossible for all nobles to have infiltrated here. It means that the demons have really managed to find a way to demonize humans, elves, and others without it showing whatsoever."
Once more, they all looked over in my direction with frowns.
"What the hell are you talking about?! We already told you that we aren't demons? Didn't you hear us?" The leader of the traitors spoke up from the looks of it, not backing down in the slightest. "You're the one who needs to answer our questions. How the hell did you convince the queen to support you?"
"Oh, I can answer to that. I didn't do anything. She came to me. That's all." I smirked as I knew that a lot of them would be jealous of me. I had already noticed how some of them had gazes of lust for their queen, hoping that they could touch her, fondle every single part of her body… and they were clearly mad that a human who the queen had barely met had managed to.
"Bullshit! The queen isn't such an easy lady. You must have manipulated her into liking you!"
"Unlike some of you." I started walking down from the throne toward the leader of the traitors. "I have some charisma, and I am not one to betray others because I'm scared of something. I'm not a pathetic little loser like all of you." I pushed my index against his chest. "Unlike you, I'm not someone who sold its soul to gain more power."
'Well… I did, but I didn't mean it in the literal sense of it,' I thought, shaking my head.
"You're lucky that I don't kill every single one of you right now. Actually, that's exactly what will happen if you don't answer some of my questions about Perdere."
As I uttered that word, everyone in the round suddenly turned and stared at me, frowning heavily.
"Where did you hear that word?" The leader, who was now barely an inch away from me, asked.
"Not sure. I think Zero mentioned it when I killed him earlier. Or maybe it was another demon… I'm not too sure. I already killed too many to keep count."
However, I didn't get the scared reaction that I had been expecting as he just started laughing right in my face out of nowhere. "Y-You killed Zero?! As if that's possible for a weak little human like you… Zero could beat you with his eyes closed."
"Are you actually that stupid?" I just couldn't believe what was coming out of their mouths. "Of course, I killed him, dumbass; otherwise, how would I have returned alive from the Icy Lake?"
The leader of the traitors had the words stuck in his throat as he continued to stare at me, wondering what to say. The more I talked about killing Zero, the more they realized that it could be possible.
"Everyone! Let's kill him!" He suddenly shouted as he knew that he was running out of options. He could already see that I wouldn't be letting anyone in this room escape alive.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
At the exact same time, demonic energy filled the entirety of the throne room. However, that energy was so much weaker compared to the one of Zero that I knew it wouldn't require me to fight at my full strength whatsoever. I didn't even need to activate a single one of my powers to beat them. My weakened physical body would be enough.
"You really think you can bring me down with that meager energy?" I spat right in their faces. "You're gonna need a lot more than that."
I let my aura run wild inside my body as I let it all out; the demonic energy instantly was subdued and replaced by mine. There were over twenty-five of them, and they still could not even come close to me.
Looks of panic appeared on all their faces as they slowly realized that this would be a lost battle for them.
"E-Everyone, don't be scared! W-We can win!" The man stuttered with every word as he couldn't even look me in the eyes any longer.
"Are you sure about that?" I said as I simply took a single step forward toward him, as I could already see his legs wiggling because of my overwhelming presence. It only became worse and worse as I got closer until he dropped to his knees before he even attempted to attack me.
I walked right before him, and the others could only stare. "Answer me. Do you really think you can beat me?" Your journey continues on empire
"I-I…"
The words were stuck in his throat as he started shaking on his own. I didn't even need to do anything. I only had to show him a glimpse of my strength, and that's all it took to defeat everyone in this room.
"Tell me. Do you know anything about Perdere?" I asked as I looked down.
"I-I don't… I was only contacted by the royal adviser to join them, and once I accepted, he put me to sleep, and once I woke up, I had become a demon. They said… I think they said a demonic seed was inside of me and that if I didn't listen to them, I would die…"
'Demonic seed?' I frowned at those words, but that was certainly valuable information. "That's all. You don't have anything else to tell me?"
He shook his head as fast as he could. "No, I swear that's all I know!"
I smirked. "Perfect."
Then, his head rolled on the ground.
