Chapter 91 - Loriel Wants To Punish Tessa & Julian
Loriel decided he would teach those scums a lesson. He waited until Elise calmed down before he contacted Marc and asked him to locate Tessa and Julian.
He would pay them a visit and give them a 'friendly' reminder.
"Are you feeling okay now?" Loriel asked her. "I am glad you are no longer in that hellish place and they cannot do anything to you. You did the right thing by leaving."
Elise wiped her tears. "I don't even want the wealth. As you can see, I would rather work hard and pay for my own things. Even if I am not my father's daughter, they shouldn't have limited my access to see him. They treated me like I am a criminal or something."
"I understand. It's really not your fault," Loriel soothed her. "I will find a way to help you see your father again. And I will teach those people a nice lesson."
Elise's else widened at the mention of teaching Tessa and Julian a lesson. "What are you going to do with them? I don't want you to break the law. Julian is a lawyer and his father has his own firm. They are quite powerful."
Loriel touched her arm and soothed her. "I will not break any law, my dear. Don't worry about me."
Loriel lied again. He would not break any commoners' law. It didn't apply to him since he was a king. That's what he always told Marc.
Laws were only for commoners. He was not one of them.
So, of course, Loriel would beat the shit out of Julian. He could never forgive a man who tried to bully his dear wife. The asshole wanted to marry Elise to claim her wealth and then send her to a mental asylum?
Fucking hell! That's what cowards and schemers did. That man was not even a real man. This made Loriel feel disgusted.
"Thank you for your help, Loriel," said Elise. "I owe you another dinner. I hope next time things will be better."
"Don't mention it," said Loriel with a smile. He clapped once and two robots came to the dining table and cleared their plates. "Now, would you like some ice cream?"
Elise nodded. She wiped her tears and tried to regain her composure. Loriel touched her shoulder lightly and then went to the fridge to get the ice cream for them.
He wanted to hug her and tell her that everything was going to be all right, he would handle it, but he knew his place. At the moment, he was not the husband his wife remembered and loved.
He would take things slowly and gain her trust and love again. Even if he had to wait, he had all the time in the world.
"How do you feel now?" Loriel asked Elise after the girl finished her ice cream.
"I am better. Thank you," Elise replied. She did feel better after sharing her story with Loriel and took a long deep breath.
She knew she was safe here. She was grateful that Loriel was not judgemental and didn't care about who she was. Even when she told him the DNA reports said she was not really Madeline York, the man didn't flinch. It's like… he didn't even care.
Loriel truly accepted her for who she was.
"I will go to my room and rest," she got up and bid Loriel good night. "See you tomorrow, Loriel."
"Good night, Elise. Sweet dream," said Loriel sweetly. He watched her leave the dining room to go to the guest bedroom.
Once Elise was out of sight, he quickly messaged Marc.
***
It was a sudden text in the night that disturbed Marc's quiet evening, but when he saw his grand-uncle's text, it was there that he realized that something was up.
The times where his uncle requested to buy a business, establishment, or any other similar instances were normal.
However, it was rare for Loriel to ever get annoyed at anything.
Loriel Ashborn was a man who had been alive for the past fifteen centuries, and it offered him an opportunity to become a more mature and patient man. He wasn't easily riled up by anything.
But this text was different.
[Locate Madeline's cousin, Tessa York and her boyfriend Julian's accommodations in NYC. Buy the entire hotel, give me the address, and don't let them leave. Have the employees blind their eyes, bribe them--I don't want any interruptions.]
To anger an immortal was something close to messing up real bad.
There was no joke with this.
[Of course, grand uncle.]
[Give me the address in half an hour.]
[Yes, I'll do that.]
It was a little unreasonable and almost impossible to gather that much information in such a short amount of time, but Marc already forwarded the request to Alex and prayed that she found it fast.
Marc actually wasn't afraid that his uncle would turn his anger towards him if he failed. Loriel wasn't unreasonable, but something like this would really get nasty if Marc didn't perform any fire control.
What were the chances that Madeleine or Elise's cousin would try to sue them? Marc needed to keep the hotel's reputation in check and other little details that Loriel left with him to take care of.
"Let's hope that things work out for the best," Marc said, but as he looked at the text again. He felt a shudder run down his spine. Even from this distance, Marc could already tell that his uncle meant business.
DING
He opened up his tired eyes and checked his phone to see the incoming message.
[Boss, the couple is staying in the St. Laurent hotel. We cannot buy the property because…]
Marc understood immediately why Alex didn't continue her message. Dang it! Apparently the people that his grand uncle wanted to find were staying in one of the most expensive hotels in New York. St. Laurent hotel chain was owned by the Schneider Group.
They were an even bigger business than Sanderman Group. So, offering to buy one of their hotels was the same as inviting laughter from them.
Shit. What to do?
