Chapter 475: Someday Once Again (3)
“For now, it is done.”
Landing on the ground, Jamie calmed his fluttering robes and let out a short sigh. By defeating Ra and preventing the world’s immediate destruction, peace came to Bless.
Even though the peace hadn’t fully settled in, since all the worries had been relieved, mankind would be able to live freely without paying attention to the Gods.
“Teacher!”
“Teacher!!”
Two voices could be heard from afar.
Jamie turned in their direction and saw Lennon and Ann fly swiftly at him. Moreover, there were quite a few people following behind them.
Jamie smiled and put his hands on his waist.
“I will go there, so why are you in a hurry?”
Well, even if he went to them, they would still come running to him, wondering how the situation above turned out.
“Teacher! How is your health?!”
“Ra? How is he?”
Ann and Lennon, who arrived first, asked questions at the same time. But no answer came.
“Jamie!”
“Is everything done?”
Siegfried and Simon arrived after, and Ricky, with the heads of the three races and other representatives, gathered one after another.
Jamie had this awkward smile as he watched so many of them gather around him in an instant.
“If all of you gather like this and ask so many questions, which one do I answer first?”
At those words, everyone looked around and smiled.
“We seem to be causing trouble. We were quite curious, so…”
“Right. How can we just wait quietly when the main character comes down after a long fight?”
“Is everything over? Just tell us that part!”
“Right! Did we win?”
“What happened to Ra and the 12 Gods?!”
They had already forgotten what he had said a moment ago. However, everyone had similar questions this time, so Jamie could answer them easily.
Jamie raised his hand to calm the crowd, and everyone had a familiar look of anticipation on their faces.
The thought that everyone he knew was making such a face was clearly registered in his mind.
That was how desperate everyone was, and Jamie smiled as he answered what they wanted to hear.
“It’s over. We won.”
At those words, there was silence.
Everyone knew that, but hearing it directly from the one who brought an end to the war left them speechless.
But the silence didn’t last long.
Lennon was the first to cheer and raise his clenched fist.
“Woahhh!!”
Cheers broke out everywhere.
Even though they were the heads of troops and factions, no one cared about it. They just enjoyed the current mood and acted on it.
Even though it was absurd, Jamie couldn’t help but smile at how they felt about their regained freedom.
‘It’s slowly coming true.’
The 12 Gods who ruled this land no longer exist.
This was true freedom.
But…
‘It isn’t over yet.’
The 12 Gods disappeared, but this land hadn’t found true peace yet.
The universe was still in a state of destruction, and even if the ones living were now fine, they would all face extinction one day
And that shouldn’t happen.
This was a land that he should protect, one that should stand forever.
But he had no intention of telling them this. It was something only he could do, and there was nothing good for others to know about it.
Rather, it was more likely to be annoying, so he had to finish it as quietly as possible.
“What? You kissed?”
“Q-quiet!”
Lennon covered Jamie’s mouth as he looked around.
Meanwhile, the others left to complete the tasks at hand, and Jamie, Lennon, Ann, and Siegfried were left. And, of course, it was Siegfried who informed Jamie of this.
Jamie forcibly removed Lennon’s hand and looked at Ann in shock.
Ann was rubbing the ground with her toes and fidgeting a little, as if she were embarrassed.
It doesn’t seem like a lie now.
He went to heaven and fought against a God while his disciples were dating one another below.
Siegfried said,
“Mr. Simon is preparing for the wedding of the two.”
“Wedding?! Do the heirs have to get married as soon as they kiss?!”
“No, No! Mr. Siegfred, what are you…?! It’s a bit early!”
“Well, he said he was doing it!”
“Th-that.”
Lennon flinched and glanced at Ann.
Ann pretended as if she didn’t just shout and didn’t say anything. But she didn’t look like she hated the idea of marriage.
Even if Lennon was like this, they could smile because of Ann’s reaction.
“Since when? The two of you were sent to protect the Magic World, and did the world turn pink then?”
“Well, I also don’t… Maybe it just happened?”
“Me, too…”
Lennon and Ann were evading the answer.
They probably didn’t have any idea that such feelings existed within them. Well, becoming a couple was something to celebrate, so Jamie couldn’t help but look at his disciples and say,
“Make sure to be happy. I will die if I hear the sound of you two fighting, especially Lennon. Throw your useless stubbornness away.”
“Uh? But I am not the one who is stubborn. It is usually her.”
“What? What about me? You are the most stubborn.”
“Ha? You said something?”
“I said a lot! A…”
“You bastard!”
“Kuak!”
“Kyaaak!”
Jamie flicked the two on their foreheads at the same time, and Lennon and Ann squatted at the pain and clutched their heads.
“Still fighting?”
Jamie was ready to hit them again. At that moment, he felt this familiar energy from afar.
The other three also noticed it, so while looking at Jaime with a smile, they said,
“We will take our leave for now.”
“I will see you in a while.”
“Give my regards to your sister.”
And they quickly teleported.
Jamie thought it was too much, but he couldn’t open his mouth because they left without even listening. And then someone landed next to him.
A girl, who appeared with fresh green hair, rushed into her brother’s arms.
“Sarah.”
Jamie brushed her hair back as she went into his arms. While burying her face in Jamie’s chest, Sarah said,
“Great job.”
“I am back.”
Sarah nodded at Jamie’s greeting and moved her head. And the siblings stayed like that for a while.
Sarah must have cried because her eyes looked a little red.
Even when the darkness fell, she was worried about what would happen to Jamie. She opened her mouth, rubbing her swollen eyes.
“Sorry. I came all the way here and didn’t listen to your words.”
Jamie asked Sarah to watch over Sears if something happened. But she broke her promise and ran all the way here. If she had been with her mother, she wouldn’t have come here.
Jamie laughed out loud at his sister’s melancholic look.
“Puah.”
“Wh-why are you laughing?”
“Because you look cute pouting like that.”
“I-I was worried!”
“Yes, yes.”
Jamie ruffled her hair and said,
“Everything is over. Let’s head home now.”
“Is it really over?”
“Yes.”
Sarah’s expression turned into a smile when she was told that everything was over. She knew from the moment Jamie returned that the war was over, but she needed to hear it from his mouth.
“I see. Now… Can we live together? Just like before, everyone gathers to have breakfast and drink tea in the garden. Like in those days.”
No.
Not like those days.
Those who caused trouble for Welton were no longer there, but Count Welton wasn’t there either. Their family of four is now three.
It wouldn’t be easy for them to live like before, so with a bitter smile, Jamie patted her on the shoulder.
“Let’s head back. Mom should be waiting.”
“Yes.”
Then the two headed to the cabin where Sears was. On the way, Sarah asked,
“Is it really fine to leave now? You are the representative here.”
“Because I am the representative, I get to do what I want. Who can say anything against me?”
“But I think a lot of people will say something.”
“Hmm.”
Jamie also had a few thoughts in mind, but he decided not to think about them.
“Ricky will take care of it.”
Even during his time as Diablo in the Black Tower, Ricky made sure there were no major issues.
It was a regular thing, but if Ricky heard this, he would probably yell out, ‘You irresponsible traitor!’
‘I can face those curses later.’
Sears welcomed her son, who came back with tears in her eyes.
Because of that, Sarah also burst into tears, and the cabin was now filled with crying women.
It wasn’t until thirty minutes later that Jamie finally calmed them down.
“How is your body’s condition?”
“Up and running.”
“Are you really fine? You aren’t hurt, right?”
“Yes.”
With Sears’s endless worries, Jamie had to show her he was fine before answering her.
Sears was wondering if her son was pretending to be fine but was really fatally wounded.
“I’m glad you came back safe. Really.”
“I promised you I would come back safe. When did your son ever lie to you?”
“A lot. You had done that a lot since you were a child!”
“I-I see.”
At her immediate reply, Jamie scratched his head, looking a bit embarrassed.
Sarah nodded as if agreeing with Sears’s words.
“Right. You always went to places where Mom told you not to go and got hurt. I remember them all clearly.”
“Ahem.”
Jamie coughed at that. It seemed like if he said anything more, it would only bite him.
While looking at Sears’s legs, he said,
“How about moving?”
Sears laughed, noticing what Jamie was doing.
“Difficult, but yes. A lot better. I think we can soon head out for a walk.”
“That’s a relief.”
“All thanks to my son.”
Jamie couldn’t help but laugh. The reason her legs became disabled was because of him too.
It was unfortunate.
Sears looked at him and rubbed his cheeks, making him look at her.
“Your dad must be thinking how great his son is.”
“Mom.”
“Don’t you still have a lot left to do? I know you set aside some time to come see me. Go back and finish your work there. Mom will bake some hot bread for you.”
As she said, he was the lord of the Black Tower, so he had to be on the battlefield. There weren’t just two or three dead people there. There were many wounded soldiers.
And Jamie had to decide what to do with the enemies.
However, Jamie didn’t seem impatient.
Sears was a bit puzzled.
“Can you not go?”
“I have to.”
Jamie laughed awkwardly and got up. It was so strange that Sears tilted her head.
“Is something going to happen?”
“About? It will all be just fun things from now on.”
“Right.”
Then why did her son’s expression look this bad?
He was smiling, but he wasn’t at the same time. Jamie scratched his neck and then told them,
“There are a few who are hurt, so I need to see them. And I have something to talk to Ricky about.”
After saying that, Jamie left that place.
Then Sears mumbled with a strange expression,
“Something is going to happen.”
“Ehh. No way. It is all over now. He must have a lot of things to do, and it’s probably why he is nervous…”
It was when Sarah tried to reassure Sears…
[Sarah Welton. I have something to tell you. It’s about your brother.]
She heard Gaia’s voice in her head.
