Chapter 1392 Whats more Important
But rather than entertain Mendax's childish behavior Baba Jezda chose to egg him on even more.
"If you are already this excited now, what will you do when the rest gets revealed?" she asked smilingly.
And even though her face was hidden behind the clouds Mendax could still hear her lips arch up in anticipation. He fell hook, line, and sinker for her obvious antics and quickly motioned with his hands to get the next set of results above the platform.
Lord Aekor tried to interject but was a step too slow, "Lord Mendax, explain yourself! What is goi-"
The motes of light came together to create a series of words that had never been seen before in the history of the Sanctum.
Physique Rank: Mythical
Constitution Rank: Legendary
Soul Rank: Mythical
"...."
It was so deathly silent that one could hear a pin drop from the other side of the island. No one knew what to say because there was not much they could in such a situation.
Not only did they have two other candidates who held a Mythical ranked attribute each but now Hao Xuan came forward with not one but two Mythicals and a Legendary at the same time.
This was an inconceivable notion for many of them and a challenge to wrap their minds around.
Baba Jazda's voice echoed through both spaces, bringing many of them back to reality.
"Don't stop now, there's still more isn't there?"
Mendax swallowed a mouthful of saliva to dry his parched throat, an action he did not often need to do.
With a twist of his hands the obelisks shot out and began to light up one after another.
First, second, third, fourth, all the way up to the ninth. The runes only stopped when they reached 60% of the way up the ninth obelisk.
"D-Do you-"
Before he could even get out the complete sentence Baba Jezda threw down a rattling keychain. It had dozens of tiny skulls attached to the ring and when it touched the pool all of them dissolved into the inky water turning it bright red.
The runes jumped started and made it all the way to the top of the last obelisk, igniting the final mark of the nine that shook the entire island down to its core.
"All nine...how is that even possible?!" one of the shadow attendants exclaimed.
"He's right, this has to be a trick. It should not be possible even with three Mythical attributes!" another chimed in too.
"Technically it is, but a feat deemed near impossible," Lord Aekor begrudgingly explained as the second most experienced member here.
"But one that would require everything else to be done perfectly," he turned towards Baba Jezda, "You planned this from the beginning. All of his attributes are abysmally low save for one. That would bring down the mean values while bumping up the final rewards to an obscene degree which, in turn, would be multiplied by the mythical and legendary ranks."
But to his and every other attendant's surprise she denied it.
"No, it was not on purpose. I did not think it would turn out this way but when I saw his condition I couldn't help but wonder how perfect it was. If any of you have complaints you can take it up with your masters, I am only using what they have provided us."
Her cold indifference obviously rubbed many of them the wrong way but there was nothing they could do. One of the shadow attendants with a pair of bright blue eyes spoke up for the first time.
"Lord Aekor, can you explain what you meant by the attributes? Only one of his has any values and they don't seem high enough to make a difference."
Lord Aekor lowered his head respectfully before correcting the man.
"I was not referring to his 'Physical Strength' but rather the 'Soul Power'. That's what turned changed everything."
The figure frowned, "But they are zero."
"Yes, but not empty. I believe this has never happened before but there is a limit to what we can detect. The largest value cannot exceed five digits because realistically it should not be possible for any mortal being to possess such high attributes especially when considering the age requirements for new candidates."
Another shadow attendant with golden eyes spoke up next.
"Are you saying his Soul Power exceeds the limits of what we can measure?"
"Indeed. But as Lord Mendax stated, this is not natural. Meaning someone had to create a soul so powerful that even we were unable to gauge its true strength. But what's more important is why. Just why would someone go through the trouble and risk provoking the ire of the Heavenly- It was you?!"
Lord Aekor suddenly exclaimed, jumping up from his throne upon connecting all the dots.
"You were behind it?!" he looked at Baba Jezda in shock.
