[Your Contractee(Annabeth Percy Milliam) has killed a B- Grade Monster: Reaper!]
[+50,000 GM Points!]
[Your Contractee(Annabeth Percy Milliam) has killed an Elite B-Grade Monster: Dark Golem Necromancer!]
[+150,000 GM Points!]
These messages started coming from early morning and were continuously coming ever since then. I observed the total points that I had now, and a smile appeared on my face.
[GM Points: 17,090,100!]
At this rate, my problem of earning GM points is solved. What's left is to use those points accordingly. Though before that,
"How are we going to create a barrier defense around here? None of us here have any gift that could help with the protection of an entire kingdom," Mark spoke as he looked around him, at the forest that was just beyond the city gates.
Since I have a Map based [Gift] and he has a scouting type [Gift], we were currently incharge of finding out ways to increase the city defenses. I had a couple of ideas with which I can use the GM points, though honestly, it wasn't needed at all. All the more because the monsters around were not strong enough to defeat any of the players here.
I took my time to ask the Gods about it and they said that the main threats of this world were knights from the holy kingdom. As for the monsters, even though there were a few of them around this world, they were mostly located at the far edge of the kingdom.
Since I wanted the tutorial to proceed smoothly, I asked for Nora and Risaliyah to help me out and stop the holy knights from invading this kingdom. This made quests stay stagnant while I got enough time on my hands to do anything I want.
And the first thing I decided to do was to catch up with Mark. I felt like what I was doing was not right at all. I shouldn't ignore him as much as I do, and probably let him get involved with everything that has been going on.
Though how much I should tell and how much I should hide was something that I still haven't decided yet.
"I am not sure. Even if we were to protect and guard it from outside threats, what would happen if someone were to open a portal inside the city walls?" I spoke, making him nod at my words.
"Should we go back then?" He asked and I pondered a bit before speaking,
"No. Since we were given the entire morning and afternoon, let's scout the area outside the city. Though before that, there is something I wanted to show you."
[Artifact: Skill Deconstructor!
Grade: S
Status: Bound to Adrian John Rodriguez!
Effects: Allows the user to convert Skill Cards into Skill Points for himself and others!
Card Conversion Rates:
-10 F Grade Cards: 1 Skill Point
-1 E-Grade Card: 1 Skill Point
-1 D-Grade Card: 10 Skill Points
-1 C-Grade Card: 100 Skill Points
-1 B-Grade Card: 1000 Skill Points
-1 A-Grade Card: 10,000 Skill Points
-1 S-Grade Card: 100,000 Skill Points]
I used about 500,000 GM points to make a little change that would allow me to let others use this artifact as well. This is to ensure I could get a lot of normal points from the tower later on in the future. Though for now, I wanted to use it for my friends.
"Holy…" he was about to curse as he looked at that artifact before observing me with an even more shocked expression. While I just chuckled before speaking,
"Let's go hunt some monsters, shall we?"
Mark was the first one that I told about this artifact. He was a close friend, and he probably was the weakest among the friends that I had here. So, I decided that I should at least help him get at least 5 to 6 A-Grade skills if possible. Though before that…
"How many skills do you have? And what are their grades?" I asked as I looked at him and he pondered before speaking,
"3 D-Grades, 1 F-Grades and 1 C-Grade."
That was bad.
The fact that he was able to survive this long with only those skills must mean that he was either really talented or he was able to get some good weaponry. And as far as I have known him, it's probably both.
I looked at his skills through the [Accelerated Analysis] and found that the 3 D-Grade skills were related to his [Gift]. One allowed him to increase his range by 30%, another increased his accuracy and speed by 50% and the last one something that increased the damage based on range. The farther the target, the more damage.
His C-Grade was [Hunt], which made me sigh as that skill was both useful and useless at the same time.
Though the most fascinating was the F-Grade skill.
[Skill: Bullet Time
Grade: F
Effect: For 3 seconds, slows everything else allowing the target to see everything in slow motion! (Time dilation effect:: 2:1 for normal time)
Cooldown: 2 Hours]
"You didn't use your skill points on the F-Grade skill?" I was a bit surprised though he shook his head as he spoke," I was saving to upgrade one of the D-Grade skills to at least B-Grade. Though I was also waiting to get any good Marksman related skills as well. You know, in case I get something that's way better than the others?"
I pondered before speaking," how many skill points do you have right now?"
"1219," He answered honestly, while I looked at him with a deep gaze before speaking,"all right. Let's take 4 of your skills to B-Grade for now, though start with the F-Grade one. I think that's the one you need to invest the most. Can you bring it to C-Grade?"
Taking my advice to heart, he simply invested 111 points in the skill, taking it to C-Grade instantly.
[Skill: Bullet Time
Grade: C
Effect:
-For 60 seconds, slows everything else allowing the target to see everything in slow motion! (Time dilation effect:: 10:1 for Normal Time)
-The user's accuracy will increase by 10% within the bullet time!
-The user's speed will be increased by 25% and evasion reflex will increase by 20% in the bullet time!
Cooldown: 30 Minutes]
"Wanna see a trick?" I asked Mark before I made a couple of changes to the skill. I wasn't telling him everything, but I guess I can let him know a bit of what I was capable of. It was my way of returning the trust that he has shown in me.
[Skill: Bullet Time

[Would you like to make the following changes for 4.9 Million GM Points?]
I clicked [Yes] without much worries as I saw the changes in his skill. His eyes widened as he observed the skill with a shocked expression while I put the index finger on my lips, asking him to be secretive about it.
"It was something I got from the contract," I satisfied his curiosity as well, making him widen his eyes even more as he understood the reason why I wasn't telling anyone about it.
"Now upgrade it to B-Grade. The effects should come out better," I spoke with a smile as he too nodded and hurriedly put 1000 skill points into the skill. His smile was stretched from one ear to another, while he kept looking at that skill.
[Skill: Time Dilation

Cooldown: 1-20 Minutes]
"All right. Let's increase the skill to A-Grade before we return back to the base," I suggested before I began walking deeper into the forest. Though he was still standing there as he asked,
"But what about you? If you give me all the points to upgrade my skill, then you will be wasting all of your time."
"…"
I don't know whether he was naive or was just this caring. But a smile appeared on my face as I looked at the concern he was showing for me. All right… I have decided. I am going to get him at least 1 S-Grade skill before we get out of here.
"It's all right. I already have enough because of my contract. Right now, I just want to increase the Grade of my [Gift]. It's a growth type, remember?" I calmed his concern as he slowly nodded. He was still hesitant but he didn't question anything further as we went deeper into the forest.
I wonder what sort of expression he would have if he knew what I was capable of.
