Chapter 354 - Unspoken Rules - Part 2
'My Lord, we didn't have enough time to go through every book in the libraries of the Nobles. Also, I deduce that this piece of information may not have been written down and must be an unspoken rule amongst the high lords and Kings.' Tagor replied.
Alex felt that might be the case and he also understood how this Elemental Master Realm Cultivator could bypass such restriction.
"I only fear that that person might challenge you to a fight. And if you lose, he would-"
"He would ask me to release his grandson, possibly the whole army. And If I say no then he would probably attack me in secret afterward. Since we don't have a person with cultivation matching his, it would probably be successful and they won't have to fear any repercussion caused by doing this or fear any revenge being carried by us on their family." Danny completed what the General meant to say.
"It's exactly what I fear, Your Highness." General Parson said.
"Thank you, General Parson, for reminding me of this danger, but you don't have to worry about my safety or about this matter. I'm well prepared to deal with Elemental Master Realm Cultivators. Have you had your lunch yet? How about you come and eat with me? I've to inform and talk to you about another problem to our south." Danny invited.
"Thank you, Your Highness, It's my honor to seat and eat with you," General Parson didn't refuse.
"Good, let's go then. Ah, Nora, where's Nancy, call her too." Danny said when he turned to face his lover.
Nora nodded and walked away.
. . .
"The Barbarians are going to attack Hemforth territory. Your Highness, this is serious." General Parson was quite shocked when he heard about the Anthral Tribe attacking the towns and villages on the southern border.
"I know how serious the matter is and I've already made preparation and taken steps to fend them off at the border itself. The men that I've left to manage Hemforth City are quite capable. They have amassed an army to confront the forces of the Barbarians on the plain itself. Also, another news had arrived from the southeast, from Pearlmire." Danny said.
General Parson pricked his ears again to listen carefully. The boy seating at the head table by his side has given him many surprises, he already had a hunch of another one coming up.
"Viscount Bardrick is dead, and wife had surrendered and chosen side with us. They have already sent some two thousand men to reinforce the battlefield against the Barbarians as they were mostly the cause of it. The people and the land of the Slyvia Kingdom had once again united and became whole, just like it was before the civil war. What we now have to do is to make sure it stays united and not broken again due to outer forces."
General Parson was definitely surprised about Viscount Bardrick's demise but the king's last words seemed to have more impact on Parson's mind. For a moment he seemed to have gone in the memories of his past. About the time when the Slyvia Kingdom was still in existence. Alas, even though the country that had broken down had now once again united, it's still different. The ruler has changed, the dynasty has changed but still, it was a reason worth celebrating and feeling happy for.
"Your Highness, congratulation on uniting all the five territories and the lost city which had fallen in Armen hands. This news would definitely raise morals among the masses and the soldiers." General Parson stood up and formally congratulated the King.
"Thank you for your wishes and you are the masses would surely be jovial upon hearing this news but we still have a few problems to solve. Only after they are dealt with can I truly stabilize this land." Danny smiled as he said.
"Yeah, right, the Barbarians, do we need to send some troops from the western frontline to the southern to help strengthen the chances of our victory. We have a few troops to spare now since we can use this city to defend against Armen Kingdom's army if they send any."
"No need. It would be too late for them to reach the southern border across the river. It will take a whole day at full speed for the soldiers to travel to that place. The Barbarians army should arrive by nightfall and after seeing an army already stationed there, they would probably wait until sunrise on the next day before attacking. Don't worry, there are enough men there to not only hold the line but beat the Barbarians back to where they came from." Danny explained.
General Parson was relieved when he saw the confidence in the King's eyes. He believed the King wouldn't make the mistake to underestimate those beasts. Their infamous reputation is already known to the whole continent.
"If that is the case, I would ask your permission to excuse myself now." General Parson asked.
"You may" Danny didn't stop him. After General Parson was gone, Danny called Sparrow in his mind
"Sparrow"
"Yes, my Lord," Sparrow answered
"Bring Oliver, Melinda, and Elaina to the basement of the castle through the hidden tunnel connected to the prison dungeon. It's time to meet them."
"For sure, my Lord" Sparrow accepted his task.
Until Sparrow brings the guest to the basement, Alex thought of having some fun with two ladies who were already looking at him like some hungry wild cats.
"Well, my ladies, I've half an hour of free time, since you already have eaten the meal, do you perhaps want some dessert," Alex asked as he turned back to his original self in body and character.
Nora and Nancy's eyes twinkled before they turned to look at each other and smile knowingly.
"What's on the menu, Your Highness?" Asked Nancy as she leaned over the table, giving Alex a view of her white cleavage.
"I would personally like something rich, sweet, and really naughty!" said Nora while licking lower lips before adding, "I think she would also like the same thing as me"
Alex looked up at his lover's grinning face and then Nancy's blushing one.. The twinkle in her eyes was still there and her full lips curled into an immoral-looking smile.
