Chapter 159
Chapter 159
-----
The moment Anna and her group arrived at the scene, the first thing they saw were two enormous behemoths clashing against one another.
A giant black wolf and a multi-headed crimson snake were constantly tearing each other apart.
The wolf seemed to have a great advantage on offense, especially with the chains it had.
Meanwhile, the crimson snake had incredible regeneration abilities, paralyzing venom, and mighty demonic energy.
“That’s… Brother?! Did he turn into a giant black wolf?! He’s most likely fighting Lee!” Anna thought. “No, it is not just a mere transformation; he has undergone evolution! That means he has unsealed more of Fenrir’s powers. This early?! Shit, this is all my fault! I’ve provoked this!”
Anna immediately felt guilty for what his brother was forced to go through. It was due to her creating multiple butterfly effects that provoked her brother to be overpowered by foes that should have only appeared much later in the story.
However, she wouldn’t be as worried if she didn’t know the price he has to pay for every evolution, which further unlocked Fenrir’s powers.
“His memories… Just how many did he give up this time?” Anna gritted her teeth as Violet ran across the corridors, running as fast as she could to get to them.
The very reason why Jack ended up becoming so cold and emotionless in the original story was due to this terrible backlash that the Author thought was ideal to please the readers who hated a main character with human emotions.
To slowly devour his own memories with each Evolution, taking away all the love or connections he felt with others and becoming colder, only focusing on himself...
Every reader praised such a development when it happened, but Anna’s previous life hated it.
And she still hates it!
After all, it was because of such a cold mind that he ended up abandoning Earth to its ultimate demise, moving alone to slay the Constellations.
What was the point of wanting to kill them if he couldn’t even save Earth to begin with?!
Nobody really cared when that happened, but Anna...
She felt utterly frustrated!
“It’s the same fucking shit all over again! He must be in a berserk state now, something that always happens after he evolves. I need to help him! Or else he’ll end up trying to kill all of us!”
As she thought that, she channeled her powers, her Warrior Princess Physique and her Steel Body Skills activating at the same time, her smaller and skinnier body suddenly gaining strong yet lean muscles.
[The [Warrior Princess’ Physique (S): Lv3] and [Steel Body (S): Lv1] Skill Effects have been activated at the same time, merging with your still-developing {Radiance}!]
[Your Physical Strength, Toughness, Weapon Mastery, and Maximum Ki have increased by +100%]
[Duration: 10 Minutes.]
FLASH!
Her Aura erupted with tremendous quantities of Ki as she augmented her physical fitness to her limits through the stacking of these two Skills powers.
“I could get even more out of fusing these skills, but I need to carefully use my Skill Points if I don’t want to end up with none when I most need them…” She thought. “For now, I’ll try to fight with what I have- Eh?!”
However, at that moment, she realized there was another obstacle in front of them, which Kevin noticed first as he screamed.
“BIG SIS!”
They all noticed Henrietta struggling, fighting against an endless army of Crimson Serpent Demons, while a monstrous, chimeric demonic beast that resembled a crow and a fused snake was flying directly toward her.
“Henrietta! Brother!”
Anna quickly leaped out of Violet without even giving a warning to her friends, too focused on her own body and constantly letting her multiple energies flow across her body.
Demonic Energy and Celestial Energy gathered within her Cosmic Heart Core, generating an almost perfect balance.
Both the dark crimson energies of the Demonic Powers and the golden energies of the Angelic Powers melded into a black and purple substance-like energy.
Chaos!
[You have succeeded in refining Demonic Energy and Celestial Energy within your Cosmic Heart Core!]
[You’ve created the Essence that will consume all Things!]
[Chaotic Energy flowing through your body!]
[Warning! Your current Physique is not suitable for the flow of Chaotic Energy.]
[Your body has begun taking Damage.]
“Neberius and Uroboros are cooperating; this is the worst fucking scenario I could have ever hoped for!”
As she thought that, Anna flashed out of Violet by turning a part of her body into pure lightning, fused with Chaos, she became a black and purple lightning!
FLASH!
“Anna?!”
Henrietta saw Anna appear right in front of her and then move around her at lightning speed, this time quite literally.
“{Thousand Blades}: {Chaotic Bloodshed}”
Anna swung both Aim’s Demonic Sword Form and Gram’s Holy Sword Form vertically and horizontally while spinning around Henrietta.
SLASH! SLASH! SLASH! SLASH! SLASH! SLASH!
In a split second, the Crimson Serpents were all cut down to pieces by what Henrietta could only recognize as a beautiful, blossoming garden of endless chaos.
As she gathered this energy into her two swords, she released a blast of chaotic lightning toward Neberius, pushing him away!
BOOOMMM!!!
Ding!
[You have slain [Lesser Uroboros Serpent Child (D Rank)] x33!]
[You have slain [Greater Uroboros Serpent Warrior (B+ Rank)] x6!]
[You earned 465.000 EXP!]
[Level Up!]
“Henrietta! Are you alright?!”
Anna ran towards Henrietta, seeing her armor covered with bruises and whatever exposed skin of hers covered in wounds and bleeding.
“I’m fine; don’t worry about me, Anna!”
Henrietta tried to act tough, but she was already at her limits. Gabriel’s potion only helped her extend her stamina, but all the fights she just had drained it all.
“No, you look terrible; you’re about to collapse at any point!”
Anna quickly took out of her inventory some of the potions Gaia had recently gifted to her and gave one to Henrietta.
“Drink this, quickly!”
“B-But…!”
“Just do it!”
She still couldn’t forget the time Henrietta almost died; she didn’t want someone as amazing, goodhearted, and powerful as her to die, no matter what.
Aside from being a good person and someone Anna cared for, Henrietta was also her brother’s lover and a pillar of his emotional stability.
She could never afford to lose her, or Jack would never become the same again.
“Hahh…”
Henrietta ended up drinking the Elixir right away, her wounds healing in a single second. Anna had tried using her healing magic, but it barely had any effect on her.
This was because she had a high resistance against her own element, meaning that healing spells from someone else of the same element as her barely worked.
And all of Anna’s healing spells were also of the Celestial and Light Elements!
The only option at the end was potions.
“Sister!”
And before she could ask Anna how she got here so quickly, Henrietta heard her little brother’s voice, noticing they were coming, riding a huge, purple-colored centipede-like bug monster.
“Kevin?!”
The whole party finally caught up after half a couple of seconds, as Kevin leaped out of his ride and hugged his sister with all his strength.
“I was so worried about you!”
Henrietta started crying as she hugged her brother; feeling his warmth made her feel refreshed like never before.
“That should be my line! I was so worried!"
Kevin also ended up crying.
“You two are sure such crybabies.”
Anna smiled at the scene for a bit as she saw Baihe and Sara appear at her side. Hilda and Dimitri were still sitting over Violet’s back.
“It looks like Henrietta is safe at least.” Baihe sighed in relief. “But those monsters in the distance...”
“Are they related to the demons?” Asked Sara.
“I guess you can’t recognize him like this.” Anna said. “That black wolf is Jack.”
“What?!” Dimitri was startled. “Oi, Henrietta, what the hell is going on in here?!”
“Don’t be so rough on her! She just barely survived by the skin of her teeth!” Hilda said, smacking Dimitri’s head.
“Dimitri! Hilda! I’m relieved you’re alive too! W-Where is everyone else?” Henrietta wondered.
“We lost Heckert and Hector….” Hilda sighed. “I’m sorry, we weren’t strong enough to save them and…”
“I see…” Henrietta seemed incredibly devastated by the news but tightly gripped her fists. “But you guys are alive… That’s enough for me. We’ll mourn their deaths once this is finally over. For now, we have to concentrate on the present!”
“She took that surprisingly easily…” Dimitri muttered.
“You’re right, Henrietta!” Hilda nodded. “We need to find the ones controlling this damn castle- But I guess we have to deal with those guys first.”
“Lee transformed into that monstrosity, and Jack… most likely did the same,” Henrietta said. “And then there’s Neberius; he has been blessed by Uroboros.”
“That’s a lot of things to digest at once.” Baihe seemed exhausted.
“But we have no time to think about it either.” Sara said. “Henrietta, can you fight?”
“I can! I’m good as new.” Henrietta said, holding her sword and her shield. “Anna, what should we do?”
“You’re asking me?” Anna felt surprised when they asked her. “Does this mean she’s relying on me? I suppose after everything I’ve done... Even someone as amazing as Henrietta wants to hear my opinion on what we should do.”
Anna smiled as she glanced at Neberius, who was beginning to rapidly crawl his way towards them.
“We’ll divide and conquer. Two groups! One will fight and kill Neberius; the other will go make sure my brother is not defeated by Lee.” I said. “Dimitri and Hilda, you stay over Violet and give me support. Everyone else, go help my brother! Make sure not to be hit by him! Once we get Neberius down, we’ll go support you.”
“What?! Are you planning on soloing that bastard?!” Henrietta was shaken. “Anna, that’s…!”
“Don’t worry, I can handle this much.” Anna smiled, suddenly showing her several auras of different Death Apostles surging from within her. “I’ve sealed a few of them already.”
“Sealed…?!” Henrietta was still confused.
“It’s a long story, sis; we’ll tell you on the way,” Kevin said.
“Anna, are you sure you don’t want our help?” Asked Sara. “I could also aid you and...”
“No, I’ll handle this on my own,” Anna said. “Dimitri and Hilda will be there for me, as will Violet and Shiro. I’m not alone!”
Aihe walked towards Anna’s side, looking into her eyes.
She wanted to say something, but she couldn’t muster the words.
“I need your ice magic to slow down Lee and help my brother,” Anna said. “Baihe, can I entrust you with that task?”
“Of course, leave it to me.” Baihe nodded. “Just don’t die on me, okay?”
“Nah, I’m not planning on dying at any time. And quite literally, I can’t die anymore.” Anna gave her a playful wink, making Baihe blush a bit.
“Haha, somehow, I can’t help but believe that ridiculous statement!”
She quickly leaped over Snow’s back, and the brave Frost Wolf King carried everyone on his back as he ran towards the fight between titans in the distance.
“Alright, we’re fighting again, huh?” Dimitri sighed. “You damn brats are always forcing me to do part-time hours... You better give me a good damn pay after this one! A big check, of a few million at the very least!”
“Sure, I’ll see if we can get that done eventually,” Anna told Dimitri. “Hilda, how do you feel?”
BAAAM!
Hilda leaped out of Violet’s back and stood by Anna’s side.
“I’m fighting by your side. That weak man can stay hidden, but there’s no way I won’t fight on the side of my friend!” Hilda smiled brightly back at Anna, her eyes blazing with conviction.
“I couldn’t have expected anything less.” Anna laughed.
“Why are you laughing?! YOU SHOULD BE TREMBLING IN UTTER HORROR!”
The monstrous chimera that Neberius had become arrived on the scene, his {Radiance} erupting with tremendous power as it generated a mighty shockwave of Demonic Energy.
His Darkness powers mutated after absorbing Uroboros’ “blessing” after he became one of the Archdemon’s Demonic Apostles, a title Death Apostles could aim for if they wanted to become the lackeys of Archdemons.
Neberius was the only one pathetic enough to accept that deal, though, as he had little pride and was always treated as a weakling among the twelve.
His giant black claws reached Anna and Hilda in a split second, as his chimeric body moved so fast that it turned into a blur of red and black color.
CLAAASH! CLAAASH! CLAAASH!
His claws were now ten times his original size, and now that they were attached to long snake-like arms, they were incredibly flexible!
However, Anna and Hilda dodged, as Anna turned into lightning and Hilda channeled the power of the Wind Spirits into her boots.
FLASH! FLASH!
The two quickly appeared right above Neberius, as Anna’s dual swords channeled her perfect balance between Celestial and Demonic Energy, while Hilda’s hammer grew five times its original size and started overflowing with the Divine Flames of her forge.
“{Thousand Blades}: {Rampaging Chaotic Dragon}!”
“{Hephaestus Hammer}: {Volcanic Strike}!”
BAAAMMM!!!
A gigantic dragon emerged out of Anna’s attack as it was formed from the fusion of her Chaos, her Radiance, and her accumulated slashes from her Thousand Blades Skill.
Meanwhile, Hilda’s hammer erupted with volcanic magma and flames as it hit Neberius' head with all her might.
CRASH!!
Neberius' giant body collapsed on the ground, breaking the wooden floor, and falling several floors below the endless corridor, which was no longer as endless! However, he swiftly recovered from the tremendous attack, flying upwards to greet both girls with his many jaws wide open.
Countless crimson and black beams were fired from his jaws, bombarding anything his eyes could see with deadly, all-consuming explosions.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
“Dodge!”
Anna quickly grabbed Hilda and jumped away from the explosions, noticing that her Aura began to disappear the moment it came into contact with Neberius’ beams!
“Don’t tell me...” Anna thought. “Is this the power of Uroboros’ Primordial Sin, {Gluttony}?!”
Fenrir was not the only one with the power of Gluttony.
While the black wolf was born with it, those who took the throne as Archdemons of Gluttony would immediately acquire this special power.
An incredible power that only the ones who hold the Titles of the most sinful and despicable could hold.
Primordial Sins!
And Uroboros could grant a small part of such power to any of his followers. Even Neberius!
“Crahahaha! Are you impressed?! Are you frightened?! I’ve finally attained the power to call myself a Death Apostle!”
Neberius celebrated his strength and frightening new power, unaware that a cowboy riding a giant bug was right behind him, pointing his gun at his head.
“Why don’t you shut up for a while?” He sighed. “{Silencing Shot}”
BAAANG!
“GUH?!”
Neberius quickly felt a bullet pierce through his back, leaving a small wound!
He quickly directed his eyes towards Dimitri, only to realize.
“AAKH… UGH?!”
He couldn’t speak anymore.
