The Rejected Alpha's Vengeance

Chapter 438 I'll Do Better, I Promise

[HAWI]

"He's the bad guy, not us. And I think it's too late for you to worry about our humanity, Rukiya. We are way past the red district of humanity anyway," Malika stated the obvious to Ruru who simply walked over to Malika and grabbed the blade for her.

She knew this was not going to sit well with Hawi and Malika but she had to try and save them from themselves. She had to be the reminder of what they once worked so hard for.

Ruru was right to some extent, they were so close to the goal and they were close to their freedom, but were these theories they were to pay for this?

"I won't let you ruin your lives like that," Ruru said and Hawi kept chuckling.

She couldn't believe this kind of bullshit was coming from the woman who had murdered almost the same number of people as her. This wasn't the time for a consistent nudge and they all knew it, but then she had to wait and see what Ruru was on about, right?

"Well then sweetheart, tell me. What would you have me do?" Hawi asked, the sarcasm dripping from her tone like this was what they had thought of when they climbed up these damn stairs. It was pissing Hawi off but she was controlling herself.

She refused to snap at her Ruru. She wasn't the kind of person who would snap at the love of her life with ease like that. She would lay down whatever armor she had for Ruru if that was what it took.

Granted it didn't mean that she was always going to like what Ruru did, but she had hoped that sometimes she could trust Ruru. However right now, even though Hawi was pulling back, she wasn't sure what game Ruru was playing at.

"Let's go to the temple and get what we came here for. We didn't come all this way just to kill a Russel who's not even worth it. Three of them are dead and there is no reason for us to lose our souls even more with this shit show.

"Let's get this and go home," Ruru insisted as she put the blade in her pocket, dragged Malika and Hawi by the hands, and led them to the temple. I

t was an insane choice for Ruru but then what else was she supposed to do when the people she cared about were slowly drifting from their humanity and she could still be their link to whatever mess was to be cleaned out there?

She had to try even if she pissed the shit out of them. She had to figure this out for them and hope that at the end of it all, they would still believe in life and love.

"I think we're being punished for something," Malika whispered and Hawi let out a laugh before she saw Ruru's glare, and silently shut up. They looked like they were being reprimanded and yet even then they couldn't believe that this was real.

It was like they were in another part of their little universe that was so fucked up they didn't know what was right and what was wrong. So much was happening and yet they were experiencing so little in that mess.

"Stay here. And don't you dare come out. I need to fix the mess that you made," Ruru scolded and the duo looked at each other like the woman couldn't be serious.

Surely Ruru did not understand what they wanted right perhaps they still needed to remind her who was the enemy and why was the ally because right now it seemed a lot like the Greyson alpha had lost sight of what they were after.

They needed her to embrace their truth, to embrace the fact that they had to find Mbali and get these Russels going without even giving them mercy. Showing a Russel mercy was like petting and seeking even though she knew the snake could come back and bite her.

It was not fair, but they wanted to.

They didn't have much of an option.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

"Don't tell me she's going to try and tell him he's forgiven… that little…" Malika grumbled as she watched Ruru disbelievingly. Hawi on the other hand was curious to know what her mate would do.

She knew Rukiya Greyson enough to know that the woman wouldn't just decide to defy her like that, and in front of the protector; not to mention in front of the sacred temple.

It was impossible and while maybe Hawi had too much faith in her mate, she was willing to wait and see what she would do.

"She swore to protect me, to bru them all for me. Maybe, she is just protecting me and you today. Relax," Hawi said and Malika looked at Hawi, before she turned to Rukiya who was standing close to Sebastian, worry clear on her face.

She looked like she was ready to apologize for what her mate had done and for the insanity of the finger that had bed and healed itself already. She knew just how insane everything could get, but then maybe she was simply trying to keep the peace.

That was the only thing that mattered in the real right? They were here to make sure everything was peaceful and Ruru had taken it upon herself to make sure it was real.

"That man is dangerous; she is not trained for that. Besides, did you not hear the part where she spliced us and forced us to come along to this temple? I think she has gone bonkers this time," Malika stated, her voice loud enough for Ruru to hear.

It was like that was what Malika was singing for, but was that all there was to this? Malika hated being snatched a win and her blade, and yet Rukiya Greyson had done both in the span of less than five minutes.

Maybe Ruru was alive because of Hawi, because otherwise, Maliak would have fought her but would it have been better when Rukiya Greyson was also just as crazy as them?

"But she is right, Malika. We need to be kind even to our enemies. Besides, it's not like Sebastian did anything to us when we were on this island. We can't kill someone who didn't do anything just because we have speculations.

"We need evidence to do anything and right now there isn't much of that anywhere," Hawi explained and Malika had to do a double take on the woman who was speaking because this couldn't be the same Hawi who killed first and asked questions later.

There was just no way that this woman was the girl she had had to keep out of trouble because Hawi and her blades were best friends than Hawi and her brain, right? Perhaps it was something else here, no? And even then, what the fuck was going on?

"I'm sorry, Sebastian. My mate and her protector can be irrational at times. This place is sacred and no blood bath will take place. Please take your crew and leave before they get out of that temple," Ruru whispered softly to Sebastian who twitched.

Ruru smiled earnestly, especially when Sebastian opened his eyes and sat up. He was surprised that Ruru was kind to him, but he wasn't going to question that, so he stood up and began walking away, unthankfully, again.

"Hey Sebastian, look out!" Ruru screamed out suddenly in concern before her screams turned into psychotic laughter.
