The Rise of the White Lotus

Chapter 457: Last warning

457 Last warning

Ethan Lu dragged her back to her room in silence. On the other hand, Lexi remained silent and ignored the slight pain on her wrist.

He wasn't gentle, at least, not as gentle as he usually was. This was the first time he has been rough to her. Still, he was trying his best to keep himself as calm as possible.

It was just that his emotions were raging inside his heart and any minute; he would explode. Indeed, Lexi could make him the happiest man on earth and, at the same time, make him the craziest person on the entire planet.

Lexi's room was two rooms after Mia Chen's. Just when they neared their destination, Morris Liu just exited Mia Chen's room. Hence, Morris Liu instantly noticed the two approaching figures.

Looking at Ethan Lu's furious eyes, Morris Liu's gaze moved to his hand that he was using to drag Lexi. In an instant, Morris Liu's eyes darkened as it wasn't hard to guess what he was doing.

"Ethan," said Morris Liu, "What do you think you're doing?" as usual, his tone was cold yet, this time, his temperament was more intimidating and imperious.

Despite hearing him, Ethan Lu seemed he didn't hear him as he continued to walk, dragging Lexi with him until they passed by Morris Liu. However, their tracks stopped when Morris Liu caught Lexi's other wrist and used a little force, enough to pull her to him but not hurt her.

"You're hurting her." Morris Liu coldly uttered as he watched him turn his head, bearing his devastatingly fiery eyes.

Ethan Lu said nothing immediately.? His blazing gaze stared at his frosting pair of eyes before it moved to his hand where he was holding his wife.

"Brother Mo," Meanwhile, upon being stopped by Morris Liu, Lexi glanced up on him. By the looks of her eyes, she was warning him to stop, but to no avail, Morris Liu ignored her silent warning as he peered at Ethan Lu's pair of diabolical eyes.

"Morris Liu, let go." Piercing Morris Liu's hand by his gaze, Ethan Lu clenched his teeth as his grip on Lexi's wrist tightened.

This was bad... Ethan Lu was losing control and at any moment, he might snap and lose his rationale.

Ethan Lu slightly tugged Lexi to him yet, Morris Liu remained adamant. Unlike Ethan Lu, Morris Liu glanced at Lexi who just gritted her teeth by the slight sudden pain her husband has caused. She did not make a sound as she was always been like that ever since.

"You are hurting her." Morris Liu repeated as he slightly loosened his grip on Lexi's wrist. "You are mad at me, don't vent it on her." He already figured why Ethan Lu was acting as if Satan himself manifested on him. It was the occurrence last night. Thus, he wanted to be held accountable for it as it was his idea in the first place.

After all, her issue and Ethan Lu's were for them to settle. Regardless if Morris Liu was involved or not, Lexi's resolved was final.

"Vent on her? Huh, I just wanted to clean my wife from someone else's residue..." Upon hearing his statement, Ethan Lu could not help but scoff in mockery. He slowly took steps forward and stopped several steps before the iceberg. "Because, apparently, you took advantage of our deal. I told you to keep your hands away from her and yet, you didn't give me a little respect." If imagination could kill, Ethan Lu had strangled him to death multiple times inside his head.

"Don't make me repeat myself, let go." Ethan Lu didn't break his eye contact on him as he ground his teeth and threatened for the last time. However, Morris Liu showed no sign of backing down until Lexi meekly called him out before she shook her head.

"Brother Mo," Slowly, Lexi pulled her hand away from him which she didn't need to exert some effort as he wasn't holding on her that tightly. "It's fine." She reassured, which didn't sit well on Ethan Lu's edgy mood.

"This is the last time you touch her. The next time you attempt to take what's mine, even lifting a pen will be a torture." Ethan Lu tried his hardest to keep his head cool. Although he managed as he didn't strike Morris Liu out of impulse, still, his warning was something Morris Liu should heed.

After all, he trusted him and yet; it was clear as the day that he attempted to kiss Lexi on the pavilion. No matter what angle he looked at it, it was Morris Liu who started it. Therefore, their already strain relationship just got more a little shaky.

With that said note, Ethan Lu turned his back against him before casting Lexi an emotionless glance and resumed on their tracks. On the other hand, Morris Liu could only ball his hands into a fist as he watched him roughly drag Lexi away.

Meanwhile, Chris Yu was leaning on the wall inside Mia Chen's room. Since Morris Liu left the door slightly open, he heard everything and had a glimpse of what transpired outside. Surely, Ethan Lu was furious about the plan they cooked up and now it came back to bite him.

"Nico, aren't you concern about your boss?" Arching his brows, Chris Yu asked as he glanced at Nico Zhuang who just got out from a call.

"It's a personal issue between Master and Madam. I don't think I should concern myself about it." Sounding composed as usual, Nico Zhuang was rather calm about Lexi's well-being. If there would be anything, he could say he was more worried about Ethan Lu's well fair.

He believed that no matter how enrage Ethan Lu and Lexi could be, at the end of the day, their love for each other would triumph.
