Chapter 33: Fire Arrows Skill Scroll
Chapter 33: Fire Arrows Skill Scroll
As the fight intensified, Henry realized that there were different kind of items that were dropping as they killed the apocalyptic creatures. But, the drop rate was quite low.
Perhaps with every 100 creatures that they killed, three or two of them dropped an item. But, what Henry found strange was the fact that, even though he had already gotten information about the apocalypse, he had not been informed about items dropping as long as they killed the apocalyptic creatures.
Additionally, he, Adam, and Sarah had already killed over 500 apocalyptic creatures, but they had not seen any item dropping. This was completely illogical.
All the same, Henry didn't care about the items that were dropping, as long as they were not unique. With the large number of monsters that had appeared, he was going to get numerous mutation crystals.
Moreover, the monsters that had appeared this time had many level one and level two monsters. Even though it was quite far from level 5 mutation crystals, it was still enough for him to purchase several things from the system store.
The fight went on for about 2 hours. During this one hour, the number of casualties within the survivors was quite high. The remaining youths only numbered to seven. As for the rest, they had been killed off.
Even though it was true that they recovered energy that they spent during the attack, all these youths did not possess any equipment. For that reason, in case they were careless even for a single second, then they could be killed off by the monsters.
The remaining seven were already panting. This was the first time that they had encountered a very fierce fight. And they had fought progressively for over 2 hours. During these 2 hours, they had already sustained fatal injuries.
Even one of the people that had already reached level two was dead as well. That had already informed them that, during such a war, it didn't matter about the level that one possessed. Being swarmed by level three creatures, there was no way that they could resist.
After the fight ended, Henry turned his attention towards Adam. This guy had been quite reckless during the fight. Had it not been for the fact that he was currently putting on an armor, the number of injuries he would have suffered, would be uncountable.
One thing that Henry had noticed was that, those people that had acquired the professions during the early hours, had high combat power.
Even though it was true that Adam was a level 3 before, he had still managed to kill several level 3 apocalyptic creatures before he finally leveled up to level 5. And currently, he had already reached level 5.
For them to level up, they would have to kill more than 100 monsters of the same level as them. Or, they might as well kill the monsters that were at a higher level than them. But of course, that was something that was quite difficult for normal mutant warriors.
Henry on the other hand had already received a big boost. Due to the fact that he was fighting like two people at the same time, the level of energy in his body was much higher than anybody at the same level as him.
He had already managed to reach level 5 of the warlock profession. As for the summoner profession, that was a profession that depended on the summoned creature.
With the abilities that the Storm wolf possessed, it was able to massacre a very large number of monsters that were attempting to attack Sarah. During that period, it had already managed to level up twice. So, currently, it was already a level 4 apocalyptic creature. Henry was quite sure that it wasn't far from reaching level 5.
Due to the drastic increase in the level of energy in his body, Henry could finally freely utilize the mage path. The amount of energy that he could use as someone who was at the same time had increased with the level of energy present in his body.
It was due to the fireball skill that he possessed that he had managed to kill a very large number of apocalyptic creatures. Otherwise, there was no way that he was going to level up by killing low level creatures.
On the other hand, Sarah had also managed to reach level 3. Her rate of leveling up was quite low as compared to others. Since she wasn't doing something that was related to her profession, the amount of energy that gathered inside her body was low as compared to the others.
Without waiting for anyone to say anything, the group began gathering the items that had dropped on the ground. These items consisted of weapons, utilities, and even food.
This finally gave Henry an understanding of where food was supposed to be gotten from. From the introduction to the apocalypse, there was no mention of where he was supposed to get food. Previously, he had thought that they could perhaps hunt animals to get food. But now it seemed that, that was not the only way.
When everything was collected, the group of seven brought together what they had picked up. The battlefield had already been divided during the fight. So, the items that had dropped where Henry and his group were fighting was definitely not going to be touched by the group of seven.
When he saw the items that they were bringing, Henry simply shook his head as he said, "I don't think I need them. You can use them as you wish." Henry wasn't willing to pick anything that belonged to them.
It was already enough that there was a huge number of monsters present here. With them, he was going to get a very huge number of mutation crystals. He was going to be able to purchase several things that were of a higher quality as compared to what they were handing over.
The youths were surprised when they heard Henry's words. From their perspective, they were already used to the fact that, everything good belonged to the leader. And, as long as the leader was satisfied with them, then he would reward them.
"All that I need from you currently is your help to gather all the monsters' bodies here." Henry stated.
Due to the sheer excitement that the group was experiencing, they enthusiastically began using the items that they had been given to them first.
They did some exchange amongst themselves, so that those that did not possess a warrior's profession would not take things like swords and so on.
As the group was already beginning to share the drops, Henry on the other hand stared at the screen that had appeared in front of him. He had been ignoring it although it had appeared for some time now.
[The first wave of the monster tide has ended. Congratulations for surviving. The second wave will descend in 30 minutes. Be prepared.]
Henry took a deep breath. He couldn't help but get worried about his family. He had already seen the number of casualties amongst these youths. So, he of course had to be worried about his family.
Even though it was true that the family possessed quite a number of bodyguards, he had already seen the security team of the facility being cleared out. And, that was just a small group of monsters as compared to the number of monsters that had attacked this round.
Setting all those thoughts aside, he began sorting out the items that he had collected. The thing that he was looking forward to most was definitely a skill.
Although he possessed the fireball skill, if possible, he wanted to look for a skill that could be utilized by Sarah. He had already noted that she was going to be important in the future. And for that reason, he wasn't going to allow her to lag behind.
Amongst the items that had dropped, Henry found a fire mage skill. Even though the level was quite low, it didn't matter to him. Possessing several skills was definitely increasing his versatility.
[Fire Arrows: One star; by gathering the energy in your body, you can be able to summon numerous arrows in the sky, to attack your enemies. The number of arrows that can be summoned depends on the amount of energy that is spent. Do you want to learn the skill? Y/N.]
Just after Henry held the scroll in his hand, a prompt appeared in front of him with information about the scroll that he was holding.
Henry couldn't help but get a little excited. The reason behind this was the fact that, this skill was something that he was looking forward to. A skill like this that could do damage to a crowd was something that was the most efficient to deal with a monster tide.
Without any hesitation, he immediately accepted. The scroll that he was holding in his hand disintegrated into pieces, before these pieces disappeared into his forehead.
[Skill learned.]
With the appearance of the prompt, Henry felt that there was a certain amount of information that had appeared in his mind.
He felt that with just a single thought and the mobilization or the energy in his body, he could summon a rain of arrows. Even though he wanted to try it he decided that he was going to do it during the second wave. They didn't have that much time before the second wave arrived.
Although he was quite disappointed that there was no skill that could be utilized by a light mage, he didn't give up. Instead, he entered the system store and selected the skills section.
